lots of people have KP

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share something I noticed today. Me and my husband went to Arbor Day fair in my community(i live in TX) and its sooo warm...everyone was in shorts and slinky tops. Ilooked really close at everyones skin and saw a lot of KP especially on the legs, mostly on women. I noticed it mostly on fair skin with dark or red hair, mostly on women in their 30's like myself....I know it sounds crazy, but I feel a lot better about myself...I will wear shorts this summer. I hate this KP and all the work I put into it, but I am pretty and so are everyone of you...so be happy!

You know, I heard the statistic somewhere that 1 in 3 people have it, I think that's baloney. I have seen very few people around me that have it, and only one that was really bad. Coincidentally, she happens to be a student in my after school program, so if it ever bothers her and she needs to talk about it I'm glad that I can relate.

I know people that have KP, my husband for one and a good g/f, she has it on her entire body and it's been there her whole life. I had it minor then it got bad after I had a baby. So many people have KP, it's just usally on the backs of arms and the butt. My step sis has it,only a few bumps on her arms. I wonder if her KP will get bad w/ pregnancy like mine did?

I don't know??? I do know that others from this forum have had the same problem as I did w/ the after pregnancy thing. I have never known a person that had KP and had a baby, only from this forum. But I guess that goes w/ having a baby, the body goes through so many changes and I guess for me KP was one of them. It sucks but I think I'm doing well w/ it. I try to keep positive. KP is not the end of the world, not for me anyway. I refuse to let this bring me down and it does help that I found something that is working for me. I only hope that if maybe only one person can benefit from the S. Soap and stiff brush thing, it will make someone else feel better about this KP thing. Kim

I saw a lady the other day at a restaurant and she had red dots on her calves. I wanted to get up and say, do you also have this problem? I was trying to look at her arms but couldn't tell and then realized that if she saw me she would think I was grossed by her instead of trying to see if she had kp to 1-talk to her about it and 2- tell her about this site. I didn't have the nerve to ask in case I was mistaken and it was just from shaving or something.

I've had kp my whole life on my arms and behind. After I started having kids it spread all over me and it's terrible on my legs, arms, and on my stomach too. Now I'm not sure if it's so bad because I became a stay at home mom and wear casual clothes that allow me to see it all day long or if pregnancies make it worse. It could be a combo of the two. It could have spread after kids, but I made it really worse by being home all day seeing it and picking at it.

Unhappy

I noticed that I have kp when I was 9. But it wasn't that bad because I remember using mini skirts and sleveless tops. I guess because it wasn't rough. so when friends looked at them they thought I was cold Sometimes it make feel so sad. When I got to high school my skin (arm, leg and buttock) got rough I didn't want to show my skin and ofcourse I did not let anyone to touch me. I hated so much when summer was near, everybody wearing shorts and tank tops and ME well you know the rest hidding kp. I remember that once I decided to use shorts for a field trip to kings dominium but with stocking so I looked very funny and some of my friends told me to take out the stockings because they thought I was burning. It was a very hot day, I was sweeting and didn't took out the stoking eventohoug I looked very stuped.

Before I got merried I went to the dermatology and I started using sulfur soap and Lac-H 15%. It may my skin softer but those ugly red dots were there.

I got pregnant with my first boy my kp got worst, I guess because I couldn't use the medicated lotion but after finish nursing I started using the soap and lac 15% which helped. With my second pregnancy I got even worst than the first one, the kp spead on to my my stomack is not that bad but still. Even thought I am still nursing my little baby boy (just turned 5 months) I am using the carmo 10% and Avenno.

Pregnancy had made my kp worst but I am happy that I have 2 boys that when they smile at me make my day bright and shinny. When my little boy (2 years-old) try to tauch my legs most of the time I run from him. Once or twice he got me and he asked me. What's that ? and he also made a remark eeeeeeeeeuuuuu. I felt so down but what can I do.

I which my kids don't go through what I had and still going through. I noticed that they also got this agly kp. I just hope that by the time they turn 7 or when they become more selfaware there will be a better treatment or cure. (early will be better) I guess as a mother we suffer twice more.

For our family vacation we are planning to go to the beach by augost , I feel so down because kp has always ruin my vacation (there wasn't a time that no one has stared at it). what i am going to do is selftanning to see if it will cover those red dots before the turture time arrives.

I have noticed a few people who have this, but not many. If i have seen a person with kp its usually very minor like my friend stephanie who just has it on her upper arms. I have it ALL over my arms and calves+thighs+butt as well...a teacher at my school once pointed out my friend stephs KP and from now on i never wear short sleaves....because mine is 10 times worse! if people notice hers i could not imagine if they noticed mine.......
