Ingrown Hairs?

Why do i have ingrown hairs on my bikini area? I shave to remove the hair and they won't go away. I tried scrubbing them with a loofa and used Bikini zone, no results.

Hi! This may sound odd, but try using a shaver that only has a single blade. One of those disposable $1.99 type shaving sticks...eww! Have mixed feelings about that because Venus doesn't nick. Sometimes removing the hair too close to surface leads to ingrowns. Some people also swear by shaving in the direction of hair growth <rolls eyes> ...I guess you'd have to give up total smoothness while ingrowns grow out? Bliss also makes ingrown hair pads (check Sephora). King's Shave Gel (yes, the mens stuff!) I find is so much better than women's shaving gels. Let us know if anything works or doesn't work. Hope I helped

Do you think they'll just grow out on their own? I haven't shaved in weeks and they're still there. I think I have scarring, what should I do?
Why does every skin condition have to happen to me!

Ingrowing hairs

Hi, hope its not toolate to reply to this but I have these as well as a result of waxing. Its turned into a full blown infection now just to top it all. My beautician says you must keep that area well moisturised and pick out with tweezers any hairs that grow back underneath the skin you should be able to spot them. What happens once they get to deep Ive no idea but i'm sure I still have many of those. This is just another thing for me to speak to my dermotologist about. I will post a reply if I get any advice.

Good luck!

I heard picking them is very dangerous. Have you done with? With kind of tweezers? I already have dark dots and i dont know if they're scars or ingrowns. HELP

Something I have found great succes with is called PFB it is a roll on product that I got from my esthetician. It works wonders, I have tried bikini zone and all those other ones as well, but PFB absolutely works the best. My boyfriend was even using it on his face after shaving and it even made a huge difference for him. Good luck!

bliss has ingrown hair pads. I was using them b/c of ingredients to help the bumps form KP--you can find them at Sephora.com

Hope this helps. I also heard about tend skin another product that might help.

ingrown hair

Hope you get this late post... for ingrown hair, try TendSkin, formulated specifically for that purpose. My daughter uses it on her Keratosis Pilaris twice a day, and it's the only thing that helps her. It doesn't work for everyone as far as KP goes, but it is supposed to work for everyone on ingrown hair, as it was originally made for men to use after shaving.

Scrub the area a day or two before...then shave...i like the scrub from the drug stores..st. ives? the medicated one. Also, some times underwear causes ingrown hairs..at the tight line wear it meets your skin..you could wear underwear shorts..that are loose. I used to have this problem..not anymore

Hi, I'm not sure if you'll have found a solution yet but try ingrow go. I buy it from QVC UK but you can buy it online at www.skindoctors.com.au also www.skindoctors.co.uk sell the product though the american site doesn't seem to have it in stock. They have a picture of before and after use on the site, you can find it in the hair removal section. It also treats razor burn.

As was suggested before exfoliate with a good skin scrub every day if you can and also apply tea tree oil after you've shaved or waxed this will prevent infection too.

It is such a common occurence don't feel alone!

I know this sounds weird, but I look at other women, like models and women on the beach and I never see anyone with as many bumps as me. I have dark skin so my bumps are dark. I have tons of them, like 50 on each side of my bikini line and they never go away. I shave very carefully and I even stopped shaving for weeks to let them loosen up, but they're still there. The hair goes away, but I have these bumps that look like they have hair underneath. I tried using a tweezer but it was impossible without breaking the skin. I'm afraid it's genetic. It appears that I have keratosis pilaris on my bikini line too, I think that's what the bumps are.

no worries, honey..again, there are always WORSE things you can have! It's no big deal. Besides models and such can probably afford lazer. You might go to a dermatologist to see if he can give you some hydroquinone..it is like a skin bleach..what you have is probably stains from the old bumps..the bleach can lighten them. I also think over time those marks or stains will lighten by themselves.

Wow that's a great idea! That's what they look like, old scars. I'll look into lightening them, but I want something safe.
