my daughter has stopped using differin gel and we are going to try tetracycline and see how this goes. differin has really helped with both her kp, and her acne, but, it also makes her a bit itchy and she is just out and out tired of this whole shi&&ing thing. if she puts lotion on her face to help itchiness then she breaks out. if she doesn't, she feels itchy, she has sensitive dry and oily skin on her face. i make our own soap, we have loads of things to use here, but its just a pain in the butt as one thing screws up the other, if you can all understand this. so, we are going to try something orally now, but i am worried about how this will affect the kp on her face if she doesn't use differin. she was recently sick and on an antibiotic so we won't start the tetra until tomorrow. it has been mentioned by a doctor and her old dermatologist that perhaps tetracycline would actually help her kp. if this has helped for anyone, would you please let me know. we will be seeing her doctor in 2 months time for a recheck and liver function test. i am not too keen on all this but i do understand that we have to do something and quick. her face is all broke out since she stopped the differin recently and her kp is flaring up. her doctor is concerned, as i am, she will end up with scarring.

MANY, MANY moons ago, when I was a teen, I used tetracycline for a few years for my facial acne. I do not recall that it made any difference w/ my KP.

did you also have kp on your face?
mol has this by her eyebrows and also the sides of her cheeks. it was pretty much cleared up using differin gel but when she stopped things started flaring up again.

nope; none on my face-- just your regular, run of the mill, angst inducing teen acne!
