Smile This has worked for me and it took a long time to discover!

OK I have seriously tried everything and experimented. This is what I have found to greatly reduce the severity and redness. I'm telling you I have a severe case of KP. It's all over my arms, legs, face...it's really bad on my arms. But with the things I've done this is what I have found to be helpful.

1. You need to work from the inside out as well...not just lotions. These two things greatly reduced the redness: Omega-3 fish oil, Nature's Bounty (soft gels are easier to swallow) and Olay complete multivitamin. I have trouble finding the Olay vitamins in the stores but I ordered on Amazon in bulk and it was so much cheaper. The Olay vitamin helps improve your skin. It cleared up my acne on my forehead. It has vitamin E in it which is great for the redness.

2. Lotions/Body Wash. I use Lush Dream Cream and Dream Wash. This is a miracle cream. You have to order it online I think unless you have a store near you. visit Lush.com. I read about it on Amazon. It has really soothing natural ingredients. To use the wash I usually scoop some and lather it with my hands on the red/KP infected areas then go over it lightly with the loofa. It slightly exfoliates so its not bumpy but I don't like to rub too much or it gets redder.

3. After coming out of the shower I put on the dream cream and then after the dream cream I use Jergens Natural Glow. It gives you a slight tan but nothing extreme or anything which makes the redness less noticable. You need to give the creams a little time too. You'll figure out how much you need. I literally slather the dream cream on.

4. For all those who have it on their face too and want to cover it up. Use a green-stick. Maybeline makes one. You put the green on the red parts of your face then put the concealer/foundation over it. You may have to buy a little bit darker foundation so you don't look pale. I experimented. Or put a little more foundation or something to adjust the color if its off. I use a lot of green so maybe it was just me. Works like a charm, can't see anything.

5. Lastly. If you worry about it and constantly fuss over it, it just makes it redder and worse. Plus you are wasting time. This sounds harsh and is easier said than done but you have to accept it because there is no cure as of yet. Once you accept it and think possitively and tell yourself you are beautiful no matter what. If you think positvely and don't stress about it so much, you'll also notice improvements.

I've delt with this for so long...ok I'm only 18 but I had an eating disorder, OCD and was so depressed because I didn't think I was pretty. Growing up with this was so tough. Everyone knows how girls are. But there are so many great things people miss out on because they are held back by their self-consciousnesses. Live your life. One day there will be a cure and for now you just find the stuff that works for you. Don't give up. Stay positive. You will find something that works for you!
