KP with Eczema

I'm new here but I was hoping to find people with KP and eczema. I've been reading that the two can be linked somehow. I've had KP all of my life and eczema since I was eight and between the two of them they can make me really self conscious. I have KP on my arms and thighs and I have eczema from the waist down. Normally I'm able to ignore people's comments about my KP but recently a friend of mine made a comment on it that was kind of hurtful and everytime I go to the doctor my mom always starts asking what is there to make it less noticable. I know she's only trying to help but it makes me feel like that's all she notices. Also I have a bad habbit of popping some of the KP on my arms and now it's leaving scars. Combining KP with the discomfort and ugliness of eczema has made my self confidence drop. So if anyone has anything that would help me, please feel free to post it.

Hi there,

Have you tried applying a little Extra Virgin Coconut Oil after washing, while your skin is still moist? It is a simple and natural treatment. It could help both your kp and your eczema.

All the best,

Annuu

I have both of them too but I only have eczema on one of my legs. My mom took me to the doctor and she gave me Elidel. When I use it, I've noticed that it has faded a lot
Only thing is, I stopped using it because I'm lazy like that so I really don't know how long it takes to make it fade completely

I've had KP all my life, but I've only started developing a mild form of eczema on my lower arms and on my right hand a couple of years ago. I use E45 or Oilatum for my eczema flare-ups. Apparently flax seeds and omega3 (fish oils) are supposed to improve KP conditions. I did try taking omega3 capsules for about a week and it did seem to improve my skin a bit, but I also noticed that I gained weight during the process, so I stopped taking it.

you know, I've heard about this weight gain thing and it kind of scared me since I'm already overweight. I started taking flax/fish supplement anyway, noticed the weight gain, but then after about 2 months of slight weight gain, it came right back off and I've lost a little more weight (just a couple pounds) with a small effort to watch what I eat! I actually think the EFAs maybe have helped with that in the long run. Maybe if you do some searches you can find out if it's a permanent weight gain or just temporary. - bd

Re: KP with Eczema

Hi there just a quick note to say I have had eczema for a number of years and now have developed K.P and I'm hypothryroid which throws a hammer in the works .
I do think all of these conditions go hand in hand (dry skin ,hair etc.)
How ever i have been taking Omega 3 fish oils and flaxseed oil for several years now and you do notice the difference in your skin over time ie; better skin tone ,circulation ,heart. If anything they help with weight loss not the opposite just look up a web site on Omega 3
I think at the end of the day you have to use what ever works best for you .Having trawled through the sites here it seems some products work for some people and not others .
Please excuse spelling as my babe is young and I still have nappy brain !
