Question Hair Removal

Hi
Was just wondering if any of you have tried the electrolysis method of hair removal. -KP is around the hair folicles -so when i shave/wax or anything my skin gets irritated by the re-growth. I also get bad red ingrown hairs. I was thinking something like electrolysis or laser therapy -where your hairs are removed (for ever -eventually) - might help the KP on my legs...-there would be no hair for it to build up around.. ?
Anyone have any experience with this sort of hair removal?

I'm sorry, but I don't know if it will work. However, I have been praying for a hair removal treatment since I was like nine and saw it on a show once. Why shouldn't it clear KP, right? It's caused by ingrown hairs and sluffed skin cells and such.

Well, I don't know if this is right, but I'm not sure it would clear up KP because it's not caused by hair. Caused by something else :P

I tried laser hair removal, spent close to $5,000! The KP never went away. Embarrassed to say I pursued laser hair removal because I thought those bumps were ingrown hair - remove the hair, no more bumps - was I wrong. The dermatologist was able to diagnose it righaway just by looking. I ended up stopping the treatments b/c my issue was the unslightly bumps, not really the hair. Save your money, I don't think KP can be cured by hair removal.

Re: Hair Removal

I've often wondered whether permanent hair removal would improve the appearance of KP. At least it would reduce the irritation which shaving or waxing causes it seems to make the "plucked chicken legs" look even worse...less ingrown hairs too. There are now laser machines on sale here in the UK which you can use at home. I was wondering whether it would be worth buying one ??? Any ideas??
