Lightbulb Hormone Imbalance Symptoms

Here it is (finally! ) I hope this helps somebody! If you have more than 3 or 4 symptoms, you may have a hormone imbalance, too. I had 31 symptoms, and now (after 3 1/2 months on the cream) I'd say I only have 2: dark circles under the eyes (which are noticeably lighter) and adult acne (which I'm looking into being something else entirely). I noticed a difference it the way I slept the very first night I used it! To me, that alone was worth it.

Hormone Imbalance Symptoms
Acceleration of aging process
Hypoglycemia (unstable blood sugar)
Acne or adult acne
Inability to focus or concentrate
Age spots (brown spots)
Inability to handle stress
Aggression/violence
Incontinence (loss of urine)
Allergies (asthma, hives, rashes)
Increased blood clotting
Anxiety
Infertility
Arthritis
Insomnia
Backache
Irregular or heavy menstrual periods
Bladder Infections
Irritability or mood swings
Blurred vision
Joint and muscle pain

Menopause
Cervical Dysplasis (abnormal pap smear)
Menstrual cramping
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Mid-cycle pain
Cold Extremities
Miscarriages
Constipation, gas

Ovarian cysts
Decreased libido (sex drive)
Painful Intercourse
Depression
PMS
Dry or fallling hair
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Elevated PSA count (prostate - men)
Premenstrual Bone Loss

Sluggish metabolism
Flushed look on face

Ulcers
Hasimoto's Thyroiditis
Uterine Cancer
Headaches (migraines)
Vaginal dryness
Hot flashes
Water retention
Hair loss or thinning (men & women)

I'm sorry the list is so long, but I wanted to list them all and I couldn't get them doubled up on the same line without them running together.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Prolief is a plant-based progesterone cream that is available without a prescription (I asked my OB/GYN to be sure and she said, "Well it couldn't hurt!!" I can't wait to report back to her in November!! )

I forgot to mention, if you get your hormone levels tested, be sure to request the saliva test. It's much more accurate than the blood test, which only accounts for about 20% of the body's actual hormone content.
If anyone else has used Prolief (or Phytoprolief, for women who need estrogen, too), please post your experiences here!

Do you use it like you are supposed to, both morning & night? I just can't seem to remember, so I usually only use it at night. I am only ( ) 30, but I have still been using the Phytoprolief. Since I am using that one, once a day might be enough. Since I have had my kids, I have just been hormonally screwed up, so I thought it might help.

Allison...

I am going to venture of the subject for just a second...
Have you read the book 'The Gift' by Shad Helmstetter, Ph.D? I just got mine and it is good. He is coming to Knoxville later this month to an Arbonne Training Conference and I am going to try to get him to sign my copy.
Okay...back to the subject.

No, I haven't read it. I have heard the learn N burn, though.

I use the regular Prolief. It was my understanding that you aren't supposed to use the Phyto- unless you're going though menopause, and even then you're supposed to try to phase over to the regular prolief as soon as your symptoms subside (hot flashes, etc.) over a 6 month period or so. I could be wrong, but that's what was explained to me by a doctor in my region.

Remember!! Phase it over gradually, maybe Prolief in the morning and Phyto at night for a while... then maybe prolief in the a.m. and 1/2 phyto 1/2 prolief in the p.m. for a while before you go over completely to prolief am and pm. I forgot to tell you, I started the 1st month just in the pm, and then re-read the directions and realized I was supposed to do it 2x a day. Now I'm am and pm and I feel much better.

I've been curious about this for sometime now--what does "bump" mean?

Thanks for bumping this and pointing me over.

Pardon my language, but seriously, this sh!t is freaking me way out. I've been off BCP for 6 mos. now TTC (passively, not actively charting yet), and now I am left wondering if it's a hormonal imbalance after all. That and I have had bouts with SEVERAL things on this list - at least a dozen - both physical and emotional. Yikes.

I have a friend that sells the arbonne stuff - might be time to hit her up for some of that prolief (and I just told her no thanks to her pitching her wares - making me eat those words up huh? lol). I want my KP gone but we want a baby much, much more. If something like a topical cream has a fighting chance for both, why the heck not?

Thank you for the info - lots of food for thought for sure at any rate!

(btw again I could not PM - what's with that, is that not an active feature of this board or do I just not have privileges as a new member - ?)

"bump" is when someone posts simply to place an older topic at the top of the forum and appearing more active - this term is applicable on any chat board out there in cyberspace.

HTH (hope that helps).

There's no one monitoring this site anymore, so no one can PM. I've got the most posts, and I can't do anything either! No polls created since 2005, so I'm guessing that's when it went "ghost site". Spooooky!
Chix: I was on BC pills for a while and then realized that I had 31 symptoms!!! Yikes! I went off them (husband got a vasectomy) and started Prolief and now I only have 2, dark circles under my eyes (family trait. Whoohoo.) and adult acne (cystic kind, blech) and everything else cleared up! I even have less cravings for chocolate! I never thought that would happen, ever!

Thank you for answering the PM question. Good to know. Ghost site? Wow. Too bad - but I sense people are good at self-moderating here already.

VERY interesting re BCP and the hormone swings with you and all the connex with KP etc. I was on BCP almost 1/2 my life - 15 years WITH NO BREAK. Mostly low-dosers but in the beginning who knows. Yes, my KP flared up when - when I went on the BCP!

Right after I went off BCP (within 30-90 days), I had these hot flashes where thought it was pre-onset menopause (honestly like get me into a freezer stat - my DH thought I was mad and nuts). Then that subsided and finally I got a period, started noticing mid-cycle fluid changes all of the norm cycle type (I read TCOYF). Since then have been somewhat regular (26-28 day cycles for three cycles in a row), but have had serious mid-cycle issues, temps are all over the freaking place etc. Just weird ass stuff, very hard to chart, so I stopped so as not to drive myself totally insane.

I still crave chocolate, and it's been esp. bad this week. Then again I am CD 25-26 here and all bloated up (I bloat up about 3-5 lbs, no joking, it's redonk). SO pretty sure that means AF is about to rear her ugly ass head, again. Just another source of frustration right now for me physically (TTC). Oh wels. "Hanging in there" as the saying goes.

Sorry another long post and I promised not to I know this has not much to do with KP but it might be way linked. Tho KP still here...

I promise to keep folks posted in my intro post if I try anything new and if it helps the KP (or any of my other symptoms) subside.

One more thing - a plug for a friend's website - www.chronicbabe.com - went to school with the gal who started it and she kicks ass. May also be a great place to hook up with other KP or hormonally-imbalanced folks or those affected by auto-immune chronic ailments (I never even thought of looking on there re KP it until I wrote this - must check now!).

(edited to put how long on BCP, timing of on-off etc.)
