This is my first time writing anything. I have been reading and like many of you I first discovered this thing had a name when I found this site. I am in my mid 30's and have had KP for as long as I can remember. It is all over my legs arms and buttocks, and has moved to my face. I have the extremely rough bumps and they are also dark red. I also have scaring from scratching and picking. After extensive reading on this site, I have had an amazing break through. I feel incredibly lucky having the first thing I tried work so thoroughly. I have been using the 100% Virgin Coconut Oil. It buy it at Whole Foods. I have been using it for one week. I loofah in on dry skin first. Then I shower, and loofah with a wet loofah on wet skin using an all natural cleansing bar. You can use any all natural cleansing bar. Mine is by Dr. Bonner and has an olive oil and coconut oil base, also bought at Whole Foods. Then at the end of my shower, while still in the shower, I rub the coconut oil all over my body. I rinse off any excess, and pat dry. In two days the KP was 75% gone. In one week it is 95% gone. If it never goes away 100% I will still be forever greatful, and use the coconut oil from now on. The way it has cleared up so quickly though, I am sure it will go away completely.
Anyway, I had to share. I am thankful for this website, and if my experience can help someone else then I feel like I gave something back. ![]() |

Well, I just wrote this thread today. It has been one week since I started using EVOC, and my Kp is 95% gone. My skin is unbelievably SOFT! Are you thinking of trying it?

I do use it on my face, but very lightly. I use what is left over on my hands after messageing the oil into the rest of my body, and then I pressed and pat it on my face NOT RUB!
The redness is gone as well. All I do is loofah and use the EVCO in the shower. I also have been using Tahiti Sweetie lotion from Bath and Body Works at night before I go to bed for months now. I don't know whether in combination with the EVCO it is helping, but I like the way it smells and it has coconut oil in it so I use it at night. |

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Hi, I am so excited by your success, as your KP sounds like mine (rough, bumpy, etc.). Please tell me, did you find this coconut oil in the food section of Whole Foods or the Health and Beauty Aids section? And approximately how much does it cost?

It is in the health and beauty section of Whole Foods under edible/ingestible health and beauty isle. Make sure you get the 100% extra virgin coconut oil, not the regular coconut oil. They are right next to each other. If you ask specifically for the extra virgin, they will help you go right to it. They are very helpful and knowledgable there. Good Luck!

Just wanted to add, that i have been using just regular coconut oil i found in the Indian food section of my grocery store. I haven't found the EVCO yet, but i do plan to order it online. I have seen results with the regular coconut oil that i am very excited and pleased about! The redness is vertually gone and the bumps have become less noticable/ completely gone in some areas. I hope that the EVCO will help me even further. i have been exfoliating and using the oil in the shower now for about 2 weeks or so. Also, i've been taking a vitamin suppliment containing Vitamin A... that has been working great also, as my skin looks bad on days after i have forgoten to take my vitamin. Hope this helps. and i'm so greatful for all the help i've found with this site!!!

What brand and strength of V A are you taking? What is V A supposed to do? The brand of EVCO that I use from Whole Foods is JARROW. Maybe a store in your area carries it. Good Luck!

Is there a specific reason we are going for extra virgin and not regular?

I have oily skin that tends to break out...body breakouts (not just face). Do you think this is going to irritate/cause worse acne?

I honestly couldn't tell you from personal experience, but I have read on a website www.earthclinic.com (they have a whole area devoted to the wonders of coconut oil) that people have used it to cure acne. You might want to go to the earth clinic website and read about it. Sorry I couldn't help more. One thing I can tell you though, is that I haven't experienced any acne as a result of using it.

I bought the Jarrow EVCO from Whole Foods. It's not a liquid conisitency. I can still put it on but I thought it was supossed to be in liquid form. Does it matter either way? I didn't know there was a name for what I have. I only have it on the tops of my arms. I am hoping this works. I even bought the lotion from Bath & Body Works. I will try anything to make it disappear.
