Anyone tried Urix 40 - urea Cream?

Hello. I'm very new to this board. This is my first post. I have had KP for as long as I can remember. I'm 29. I just barely in the last couple of weeks starting researching it online and figured out that it was KP. I have it bad on the backs of my upper arms and backs of my thighs. Those are the only spots I have it and I swear I have tried all kinds of lotion.
Well after reading up on KP I decided to order some of this lotion to see if it would help. Granted I've only been using it for 4 days but it makes me itchy and seems to make my skin drier. Anyone had any experince with this?
Thanks in advance
Karna

Hi,

I use Carmol-40, which sounds like it's similar - a 40 percent urea solution, which is meant to soften the skin. Honestly, it has not been the miracle cure for me that I wish it could me, but my skin gets worse when I *don't* use it, so something there must be working.

I find that if I apply the cream to freshly shaven legs, it makes it itch like crazy. Could that be why you find your cream to itch?

I don't particularly have a problem with the dryness, though. However, it seems to work better if I apply it directly after my shower to exfoliated skin - I use a bufpuf, but different people find good results with pumice sponges, sea salt scrubs, etc. Different people, different results

Hope this helps... and good luck.

I used Carmol-40, too. It stung like the dickens and itched. I used it for 4 mos, though. It didn't help me. at all. I also hated that urine-y smell. I think they derive that from horse urine. I don't know for sure, a doctor friend told me they do that for some lotions. Yuck.

I picked up a small tube of carmol20 (I think, maybe it was 40), and I've been using it for just a little over a week. I do not have any stinging or itching. It's keeping my kp in check, but I don't feel like it's really doing anything else. I put it on after my shower, and by mid-morning, I'm feeling a little dry. Fortunately, it's humid here right now, so that helps me not feel so tight. I'm using it until the Alpha Hydrox stuff I ordered gets here. I did read somewhere that Alpha hydroxies (glycomics) are stronger than Betas (salisylics). Maybe this will just strip away a few layers of skin!

Maybe the stinging and itching i experienced has to do with the vocanic craters i had from picking...
But then again, I didn't have craters on my forearms, and that's where it seemed to drive me crazy..
You should try Arbonne's NutriMinC RE9 Body Lotion. It leaves my skin feeling, hmm, what's a good word to describe it? Not oily, but very moist. Dewy. That's a good word for it. It's really soft and hydrated. Maybe you could apply it at mid-morning, when the Carmol wears off.

I'll keep that in mind, Allison. I ordered and received some aha products from Alpha Hydrox. Enhanced lotion with 10% Glycolic Acid and Body wash with 4%. I'll give it a few weeks and give all ya'll my results. The lotion has a slight smell, not bad, just barely noticeable. Can't smell it now at all. We'll see. Devil to Neutrogena for stopping production of Skin Smoothing lotion!

hey, don't take this the wrong way, because i'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but do you work for arbonne? because i am really interested in buying some of their products after seeing how much it has helped you, but i am skeptical. if you search the net for arbonne there is all these articles about how they run scams to sell there products. so sorry, i f you do not represent them, i hope you can understand me being hesitant, b/c i have wasted so much money on products that have not helped me.

I don't work for arbonne, but I used their products (after trying MANY others, like you) and was stunned to find they work FOR ME. So, I signed up as a Consultant (which is basically a wholesaler: I get a 35% discount for a yearly flat fee of $29 the first year, and $15 each year thereafter). Now I'm shouting it from the rooftops to anyone who will listen because I know how frustrating KP is and how nothing seems to help. I'm only singing its praises because it worked for me and I hope I can find other people it will work for, too. Incidentally, my sister has cystic acne (all her life) and for the 1st time ever, her skin is gorgeous! She's actually the one who introduced me to arbonne.
To sum up, I don't work for arbonne, but I can sign you up for the wholesale discount OR place an order for you if you're intersted. THAT's the kicker, you can't order without a consultant. I think that's probably the catch you're talking about. If you want more details, email me at allisonsullivan@insightbb.com
