Derms usually prescribe lactic acid lotion or cream %12 - which is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid. Amlactin is one that you can buy over the counter. LacHydrin makes a 12% lotion too, but for some reason, you need an RX for that one. You can buy a large bottle, I think 16 oz. of Amlactin at Costco for $15. KP Duty is way more than that and not even nearly as effective as either of the other two for me.

I have used KP Duty for a while now, although I don't use it anymore 'cause for me it just doesn't do anything. And it just sits on top of your skin.Maybe i'll try the Neutrogena lotion, but yeah KP Duty dosen't really do squat.

20% AHA (if your skin can tolerate it) is the first thing that has actually made any improvement at all on my skin. KP Duty did nothing for me. Neither did Soul Owner, Lachydrin, or Urea cream.

I used it once daily for six weeks, and it did nothing except make the skin feel smoother. All the bumps were still there.

I stopped mainly because of the expense. It is $36 a tube, so it is just not practical when you have so much area to treat. I went through two tubes in those six weeks.

KPDuty is a good moisturizer but a very weak exfoliant, so there is no reason to expect that it would work on anything but a very mild case.

I did not actually use Pearson's Promise, but I heard about it around here and checked out the website. *If* this is the same product I'm thinking of, it turned out that its reason for being effective was that it contains microdermabrasion crystals. This is the same alum. oxide grit that they use in cosmetic clinics and stuff, and it polishes the skin smooth and does get rid of KP bumps and can reduce the red dots. However, Pearson's Promise was expensive, if I remember right, and you can get Alum oxide crystals in bulk *very* cheap. So you can get the same results for a lot less money.

Re: Does KP Duty lotion work?

Hi folks,

I've tried the KP Duty and found it helped a bit at first, but then it's as if my skin adjusted and the KP got a little worse, unfortunately. But, as with all these remedies, they work for some and not for others.

Re: Does KP Duty lotion work?

KP Duty didn't help my KP. $36.00 is a lot to pay for a greasy lotion. As for skin-softening qualities, well, I found coconut oil did a much better job at that and it's cheaper too!

I found it to be a waste of money. Just pure marketing. I'm pretty sure the doctor who created it doesn't even have KP nor understands how it truly affects us. Save your money and invest it into something less gimmicky.

Re: Does KP Duty lotion work?

Dont buy kp duty. it dosen't last, its expensive, and they probably make up those good reviews. I don't know anyone who has gotten clear skin from it. it just makes your skin greasy and it makes the red dots get super red on my skin. don't buy it!!!

Re: Does KP Duty lotion work?

Wow. I am really surprised that KP Duty didn't work for so many of you. I have been using it for about a year now and I LOVE it. My arms are way smoother than before. I use the scrub in the shower and let it sit on my arms for a few minutes after scrubbing, to let the acids work. After the shower I follow with the lotion. The only negative I have noticed is that it does make my skin more sensitive to sunlight, so I burn easier with the lotion on than I do without it. (For me, it was a small price to pay for smooth skin!) I just posted it on another thread actually: Keratosis Pilaris

Re: Does KP Duty lotion work?

I used to use both the KPDuty Scrub and the lotion. I have since quit the lotion and only use the KP Scrub. I think the scrub did more for me than the lotion. I can definitely tell when I don't use the scrub as it gets worse. I was just using regular lotion before after I got out of the shower using the scrub but now I'm going to try the EVCO and see what that does.
