birth control??

Has anyone seen any results after using birth control? RMomoffour says her hormone balancing creme helps for her..so I'm wondering if taking hormone balancing internally would help. I'm going to be starting on Orthotricyclen and I've read that it helps with acne and improving your skin. I'm praying that it'll help with KP!

My KP has always become worse after taking the pill for a few months. Without the pill, my skin is relatively smooth and looks o.k., as I go to the sauna and steamroom regularly, and as I take care of my nutrition (reduce acid-producing food such as bread, sugar, coffee; go for vegetables, fruit, and water without gas!) But both antibiotics and the pill worsen the condition again...as this is probably related to disturbances in the digestive system, I will try the nuvaring soon.

I take yasmin and i havnt noticed a difference, if anything my kp has gotten worse. BUT i've been taking birth control for 7 years and alot of different kinds, so theres no telling if its gotten worse b/c of the bc or if it got worse because of age/diet..who knows.

My Dr.s have always explained birth control as tricking your body into thinking it is pregnant, and then obviously you can't get pregnant again. That's why you don't release an egg. Anyway, since so many women have mentioned that KP gets worse during pregnancy, and those of us on the pill are constantly being tricked into think we're pregnant, it doesn't sound like the pill is likely to help. I've been on the pill *forever* and I didn't notice it affecting my KP. It got worse in the last year or so, but my pill has always been the same.

I don't remember having KP before being on birth control (since I was 18 - I'm 28 now). Maybe it came about when I started the pill, or maybe it just happened to coincide. Or maybe I had it before and just didn't really notice it (seems less likely). I've been on a bunch of different pills and haven't noticed much change.

I haven't noticed any connection between the 2.
I started on the pill about 3 years ago, and over the past fews my KP has gotten worse. I in no way blame the pill for that, just stating that it definately hasn't helped it.

I've been using the Nuvaring for two months now. The pill has always worsened my kp or at least hasn't helped to get rid of it.
My skin is much smoother with the ring now, and I'm going to stick to it now. It's as effective as the pill but it keeps the hormones out of your digestive system and metabolism as it works directy where it is supposed to work.
The pill had always caused my scalp to dry and itch, and it made my skin feel really dry. no such effects with the ring, on the contrary, my skin even seems to be a little smoother now...

Prolief-A Botanical Progesterone Cream that balances your life!

I'm an Arbonne Consultant and the reason being is that I noticed a difference in my KP in 2 weeks time! I started with the Prolief and then added the Body Serum and Lotion and finally began using the Foaming Body Wash. I love the stuff! I signed up to become a consultant right away to get that 35% discount. Since I found something that worked for me, I decided I have to shout it from the rooftops.
Like I said, I never had KP until I got pregnant, and it really erupted after I delivered. I was told it might heal after I stopped nursing and got on BC pills. I nursed for 10 mos. and then got on OrthoTriCyclin Lo. What a nightmare! I was evil. So, after many trials and tribulations (see my post in the "mom's" forum for details), I gave Arbonne a try. The all-natural principles of pure, safe, and beneficial products finally did the trick. AND I feel much better on the whole to have my hormones leveled off botanically. I even sleep through the night without waking to go to the bathroom! That's something I thought I'd never do again after having a C-section.
If anyone wants to see before and after pics (2 weeks difference), e-mail me and I'll send them. Additionally, if you'd like to sign up as an Arbonne consultant and get your own 35% discount (don't worry, there's no quotas, it's just like a wholesaler membership), let me know and I'll get you started!

You take what? Ortho tricyclin? Prolief ? The serum and lotion made the biggest difference for me.
