Ah, yes. BC pills are often prescribed without even checking our current hormone levels. My doctor didn't. Did yours? Should have done a saliva test. Blood tests are pretty inaccurate. I went off the BC pills after 3 months of NO libido and problems being patient and rational. I started the Prolief after my period ended and I've felt better than I have in years. Of course, now I have to talk my husband into a vasectomy...![]() Last edited by allisonsullivan; 06-23-2006 at 12:11 AM. Reason: spelling error |

Nope, no help at all. Been on the pill for 4-5 years and haven't noticed a change in my KP.

Mine stopped spreading down onto my forearms and knees/calves since I went off the BC pills, but that's also when I started Prolief (the hormone cream). Not sure if it was the lack of the BC pills or not. I know one thing for sure: I feel a heck of a lot better!

I took BC pills for 4 years in my late teens, then went off of them and recently started back. I never made the connection before but here in the three weeks my kp as started disappearing.
Back Story: when I was young, around 13ish my derm said I had the 2nd worse case of kp that he had seen and I remember the red bumps and all that, but I have no memory of it when I was in my later teens (when I was taking BC pills). Back then I wore tank tops all the time, then I went off the pills and I think that is when my kp really came back to the point that I wanted to keep my upper arms hidden at all times. Now I am back on the pills and my arms are getting better. So I think that for me it helps, although I know others have said it didnt, but then generally what works for one person doesnt work for another. I think that one or more of many hormonal imbalances affect it and the key is figuring out which one(s) Sorry if this is confusing |
