New Here...

Hey everyone. I just joined this site today and im so thankful that I have found it. I'd like to start off by saying that im not completely sure if I have KP or not, but all of the signs are there. For the past 3 years (im 15 now) i've noticed small bumps on the back of my upper arms. Most aren't exactly red, they are more of my natural skin color so I didn't think much of it. After awhile, I noticed that I was also getting bumps (almost like acne) on my rear area (eh...embarassing) I figured it was due to skin irritation from soap, so I changed to Dial anti-bacterial soap which seemed to help a little, but not that much. Then, I thought that maybe if I scrubbed harder it would help. I began washing with a regular wash cloth in the shower and then with a poof while scrubbing harder. This made a bigger difference, but it didn't give me the results I had hoped for. I was at a loss and didn't know what was wrong with me. So, I decided to do some researching online, and KP caught my attention. I guess the bumps on my arms aren't my main issue (although I do find them irritating), it's the bumps on my rear end that have me upset. It's really taken a hit on my self-esteem. I don't even go out of the house without a sweater. After the holidays, I plan to take a trip to a dermatologist to see if KP really is the problem. If any of you can give me any advice or suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thank you, take care.

Try exfoliating with a body scrub and/or a loofah, instead of just a washcloth. It helps get rid of the bumps quicker!

And yes, absolutely search around the past entries on the boards here. There is so much good advice and things to try.
