I don't have red dots. I have come to the conclusion that there are those who have KP and those who have KPRF, and those who have KPRF seem to run into problems when trying to tan to eliminate it. I don't really have 5% left if I think about it. There is one small stubborn patch above my right knee that has a few hangers' on. At this point, I would say it's really 99% gone.

Hatemyskin: I am almost as white as the snow. I would encourage those of color to try this lotion, though. I read a post by someone saying their derm prescribed something that made their KP go away, but scabbed their skin over and discolored (derm = moronic fool!). Those of color risk messing up their skin pigment when using BHA products. I have read this in books (has been many years). I can't believe (well... I can, actually) how ignorant some doctors are.

Hey Sencha, so did you have the red dots and you eliminated them, or did you just never have the red dots?

I never really had red KP. Only when it would get really bad, almost as if it were infected. But for the most part, no.

I have kp...they're not really red, but a dark shade...I don't know if that's because I'm asian and I have a slightly darker skin or not...But I think I'll try out your Eucalyptus lotion thing (I'm too desperate), I hope the roughness will be gone quickly...

bath n body lotion

So, I'm anxious to know, did the lotion make any improvement?? I wonder if you could also use a concentrated eucalyptis oil??? Hmmm

Hi guys new member here,
i had no idea that there is alot of people out there with this ugly problem, wow, i thought i was the only one.
Anyways here's my story. I am hispanic and have had this problem for about 20 + years. i was told by dermetologists that there is no cure for this and still prescribed all sorts of lotions which paid lots of money, but did not see any improvement at all and the fact that i was told nothing works, so i did not continue to pay for any lotions again. I tried sun bathing hoping i will get as dark as my spots, but no, bad idea, the sun only made my spots redder, darker and inflammed.
Just last month i went to a laser place to see if they can give me any hope. They said that they would use a chemical peel on me up to four times and that should help it. Yea help it not cure it! and not to mention the amount they want from me. YIKES! not to mention i've heard it comes back if you don't keep treating it. But you know i am so sick of not wearing sexy clothes, covering up in the summer, that i am still thinking of doing that chemical peel. But i wanted to try out a couple of things that are posted here that helped some of you before i go have that peel done.
I just ordered Paula's Choice 2% BHA treatment and so i will keep you guys posted on how that works. Remember that it's gonna be kind of tough, i think, on me because i've had them for so long that it seems that they are embedded in my skin. UGH! i hate it!

Let's keep trying whatever it takes to make this better guys, lets not give up.

eucalyptus essential oil

OK, I'm from Belgium and I just don't find the Eucalyptus lotion! It is always the same here! When I read something that can be helpful, I can not find it! Belgium is so far behind in all this stuff !
BUT... here is something I do with the eucalyptus essential oil: in the morning and evening (after my shower) I put a few drops of the oil on a cotton pad, wich I make a little moist. Than I rub it over my arms and ... it helps!!! It shocked me how much dirt comes off even after a good peeling! The roughness and redness are fading! It seems like my skin is healing! I have KP for about 20 years and I think I must give my skin time to heal. It is like a normal disease/wound: you should give it the time to heal.
Thanks a lot to everyone!
Greetz from Belgium!!!

I have been using Johnson & Johnson Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub (2% Salicylic Acid) on my arms (and face, although my face is clear) in the shower, and I had been following it up with Neutrogena Skin Smoothing lotion. Neutrogena has stopped making the lotion, but I'm still using the scrub. Anyone know of a lotion that has Salicylic Acid in it? I think the Neurtogena stuff was AHAs, but whatever it was, it worked so well for me, and now I'm disapointed that Neutrogena isn't making it anymore.
Thanks!

Yeah I know!! That was the only lotion that ever gave me results at all!! I was so mad when I couldn't find it anymore!! I don't know what was in it, because I have not been able to find anything that works since. I am currently using BBW eucalyptus and spearmint lotion, but I am not sure if it is working. It's hard to tell since I have been in the sun lately and good days and bad days always throw my judgement off as to products actually working or me just being hopeful!

Check out cosmeticscop.com. That's where you can get Paula's Choice products, and she may sell a lotion with 2% salicylic acid.

I've been using Neutrogena's 2% Salicylic acid body wash, and I have some improvement. I have a lot of scarring, and some spots that are very tough and stubborn, so my arms still look horrible, but I feel like I've had improvement because I don't seem to be getting flare ups of the old scars like I used to.

hi I'm new here. but I have a question about using lotion. I've tried using normal moisturizing lotion with aloe but it made the skin much worse. It seems as if the extra "oil" created more bumps on my skin (I have problem pretty much only with my arms including forearms and triceps). I will give this lotion a try though. This has been such a frustrating problem, so much so that I am seriously considering using tattoos to cover up these bumps!
