I am 18 and live in Oxford (UK). I have had KP for as long as I can remember. I would be interested to hear from people of a similar age to find out about their experiences of this condition.

Hey, yeah i'm 16. from Australia. I have had kp since I was about 10. I have it pretty badly on my legs, especially on my calves . I have it on the backs of my arms too, which is also starting to show up on my forearms. I hate not being able to even wear 3/4 pants. Gah. It seems to be getting a bit better now that i've been moisturising etc.

In the UK, there should be a lotion widely available called Palmer's skin smoothing lotion with AHA/BHA. I guess the bottle is a dark aqua, or pearly green/blue color. The reviews on a website were all from the UK or Australia.

I just ordered 2 bottles online b/c I am in the USA and can't find it for sale anywhere in a store.

Hi!! I am 18...but I have some (not too much) KP on my face...I used to have KP on my legs and arms but since I have been using Lubiderm sensitive skin formula lotion on my body it has helped a ton. All I can say is organic natural skincare really works, I am on a very good regemine now through Aubrey Organics..sensitive skin, really makes my skin soft and is all nautral so it workds with your body, not against it : D

Smile Hi Vixie

I'm 17, and I've had it forever...on my arms and cheeks...Have people ever remarked that you must be cold or something because you have "goosebumps"? I was asked that once and said "sure". it seems easier.

I'm 16 and live in Westminster, Colorado, where it's very dry and pretty hot in the summer (it sucks trying to wear long sleeves when its 95 degrees outside lol). I've had KP ever since I can remember, and I have it on my face, upper arms, thighs, and I just started to get it on my forearms. No one has really ever said anything to me about it, but I'm still self-conscious about it.
I've been to a dermatologist and they gave me some lotions and steroid creams to try, but they didn't do anything. I'm finally on one that works, its Clobetasol Propionate Cream or something. Also lotions with AHA and BHA are supposed to help (some I've heard have worked are Jergen Skin Smoothing lotion, Neutrogena Skin Smoothing, and Vaseline Healthy Complexion).

Hmm interesting...I will try some of the Jergens/ Neutrogena lotions...I have a little on my face but it seems ok. My Derm gave me some Differin to try for my face but and it worked but then it came back. So hmm not sure what to do at this point. It is also really dry here in Idaho so I feel ur pain

I'm 16 and I'm from Romania. Yesterday the dermatologist told me I have KP. It doesn't bother be that much, because I only have it on my upper arm and it isn't that noticeable, but I feel uncomfortable with myself.
I wish you all the best

Wink

I know how you feel. I have kp on my arms, thighs, and a little on my sides. The worst part is that I grew up really fast and have strech marks on my side too. So, I basically have kp on top of strech marks. Talk about feeling low. But, right recently I have lost 13lbs and I'm starting to go to a new doctor about my kp. My old doctor was a old man that didn't seem really up to date on knowledge.

anyways, I have tried to look at the bright side of things. I've heard that 90% of the population have kp. When I heard that I started to look for people who had kp and there is a lot of people that have it. I was so caught up in looking at the people who didn't have that I didn't even look at the people who are just like me. I'm in a bellydance troupe and I'm with women who are in their 30's and up and I didn't feel really bad about showing my skin in front of them. But, then these two girls ( that are my age) started dancing and they are super nice but, I felt very insecure about myself. Then one day when we were practicing, I saw that one of the girl has kp and strech marks. I was so relieved. So, I started feel so much better about myself. Just think that there is probably someone out there just like you!
If you ever need to talk or something my email is kaiaasha14@hotmail.com

I know how all of you feel! I recently read the book called "The Skin Type Solution" By Dr. Leslie Baumann it has been a great GREAT help! All of my KP is gone, with very little remaining if any. I do not have KP breakouts ne more, because all of the products she reccomends are particualrly reccomended for your specific skin type. And the best part is that she reccomends most things from the drugstore, so they don't cost much, but still have the same impact. Read this book, it will change the way you look at your skin forever!

Teens, I know how you all feel. I was going through the same thing at your age. Just keep in mind, my KP at 16 in nothing compared top what I have now. It's 10 times worse at 29. Please try to develop a successful skin care routine NOW to prevent going through years of embarassment.
