Hey, I'm 18 and I have had keratosis pilaris forever. I can honestly say it has NEVER botherd me at all. I wear short sleeves and shorts all the time in the summer, and I have KP on my arms and legs. No one cares. I've never been made fun of, and no one has ever made a thing about it. I've been asked about my KP a few times by friends and people I know, and once I tell them what it is they don't care at all about it. There have been times I sometimes wish I had nice smooth skin, but im not botherd really. Its never stopped me from wearing shot sleeves or shorts.

Hi, I'm 19 years old and I'm from the UK. I have also had KP for a very long time. I have KP on the back of my arms, shoulders and on my thighs. My KP has always bothered me, so I tend to cover up with long sleeves ~ even during hot weater. So, a lot of people think I'm weird and I don't really know how to explain my condition to them. I've been to see my GP, but she said that it couldn't be treated and the only thing I can do is moisturise it about 5 times a day. I also have to be careful with which products I use, because i'm allergic to certain creams (still need to diagnose). But lately, my BF has encouraged me not to be too conscious about my skin and that he has seen worse. Then slowly, slowly I became more confident and I no longer hide myself. Nevertheless, I still want to treat it!!! I have seen so many products recommended by other Kpers, but the problem is none of the products are available in the UK. Today, I ordered some KP Duty from DERMAdoctor from the U.S, and I heard it was very very good too. Hopefully, this would be the right product for me!! Good Luck to rest of you!!!
