hey, im 17 male living with this...its really hard to deal with, girls can wear makeup on their cheeks, i also have it on my legs and arms but it doesnt bother me as bad there. in addition to kp i have vitiligo, which is a pigmintation problem in the skin which causes there to be white spots...i have that in patches on my knee caps, elbow, thighs feet and belly button. i lucked out and got the works in skin disorders ...but ne wayz i just want you to know that i know what its like and im definatly not one to judge other people that have conditions...but if you want to get in touch w/ me my email is codeman141@yahoo.com

Hi, Im 14 years old and i have Severe Keratosis Pilaris. I have to use a certain laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, and even lotion. Today after Volleyball pratice i came home and i was really sore so i had my mom put some ICY HOT on my back (my worst spot for keratosis Pilaris) the moment she put it on (note: ive been using ICY HOT for 7 years straight and this has NEVER happend) my back started feeling like it was On Fire. i felt as though some1 poured gas on my back and then lit a match, i got in the shower (clothes and all) put it on the coldest it could get and went under for a bout 10 min. Afterward i couldn't feel the water even hitting my back thats how numb it was. I can't even put on nice clothing i have to wear really loose baggy shirts and pants b/c of the fact if i start sweating it starts burning. I have Keratosis Pilaris EVERYWHERE except my hands and my feet. and the weird thing is I have two other sisters and neither of them have the slightest trace of it. only my father and hes not even that bad. please i have used so many lotions, soaps, and everything else and i still can't find something that will clear it up even a lil bit if any of you have any tips, ideas or anything else i'd appreciate if you helped me. Please im desperate this really sux not being able to use everything every one else is using or do certain things without being selfconcious about it. Some times i get these pimples on my back and i worry that when i go swimming some1 is gonna say EWW look at that! please help me!!
