Hello all,

After reviewing the forum thoroughly for answers I have decided to write this posting.

First a little background.
Since maybe around 13yrs old I had some redness in eyebrows and during hot days some redness in cheeks. I never thought anything about it as it wasnt too prominent. Around age 24 I started noticing loss of my eyebrows. Mainly in the middle top region. After itching persisted I decided to go to a dermatologist. He prescribed a cream that made the brow area worse and dry.
I stopped using it. Naturally, after time the brows got thicker but a bit of the redness continued. At 27 I was prescribed Hydrocortisone and that helped for a bit, but it was hard to say if it was that, season change or stress. I closely observed and noticed during the summer it was usually worse. Wintertime my eyebrows werent bad at all. Also this all started when I started working more and more so I really thought that it was stress induced. I still think it plays a large role. I am 30 now and it has gotten as bad as it has ever been. My eyebrows are still there but lighter than ever before. We will see if wintertime helps.

I am writing this because I would like my old thick eyebrows back from when I was in my teens. I think with all the knowledgeable people on this board that we can find a solution. I propose hitting this as hard as ever before and listing pros and cons in a ordily fashion. Then send the link to as many dermatologists as possible to have them create some movement on this. Its ridiculous that its so rare to find knowledgeable proffesionals on this disease. As I see it we have a battle against time as our brows only have so long before they are completely gone. So the more people that we can round up for the cause the better!

Ill make a list here and update and edit the posting every week as people respond. That and as many polls as possible I think would be the best solution (as long as everyone takes part in them)

THE LIST

1.Proven growth solutions and medications: (your answer here with a scale of 1-10 with 1being minimal and 10 being full growth)

2.Medications that have not worked:
(your answer here)

3.Triggers (when do you find symptoms are most prominent): (your answer here)

4.Hereditary: POLL: A Solution Awaits List 4 - Hereditary (check link for status on poll)

5.List of your other health complications: (please submit topics for the poll. numbers or link will be updated weekly)

6.Stress induced: POLL: A Solution Awaits List 6 - Stress (check link for status on poll)

7.Season its at its worst: POLL: A Solution Awaits List 7 - Seasons(check link for status on poll)

8.Diet: (please submit topics for the poll. numbers or link will be updated weekly)

9.Misdiagnosis: (please submit topics for the poll. numbers or link will be updated weekly)

10.Photos: (all photos will be very helpful to others and any dermatologists looking at the forum. Crop images if needed for confidentiality)

OTHER POLLS:
- Exercise amount:
POLL: A Solution Awaits Other - Exercise
- Sleep patterns:
POLL: A Solution Awaits Other - Sleep

This will be a good start. If anyone has suggestions on improving this idea please let me know. The main goal is making it as simple and as straight forward as possible so that anyone who looks at this can easily further progress on finding solutions. Also feel free to answer as many questions as possible. But making sure your answers are always in bold to make sure it easily found when I edit. I have made the first example posting below.

Again thanks to everyone who can particapate in this. If dermatologists havent taken this disease seriously and the traumatic affect it has on peoples lives I hope after reading this they will make more of an effort in finding a cure. But imagine if we find the cure ourselves! What would that say for the online community coming together!

Before - http://img.timeinc.net/time/photoess...fischer_01.jpg
After - http://www.adam16mr.org/bobby.jpg

Questions
- I was wondering if sleep could be a factor. Why does this commonly affect 2/3 of the outer brow. I noticed when I lay in be that I tend to sleep on my face in that area. Anyone else? Also how many hours do you sleep?
- Lastly I was curious how many people stay in one location for most of the day. I sometimes notice better results when Im out and about.

Dude , doctors dont care about UO, nor will they ever I think anyway find a cure, but hopefully they will.

try Witch hazel on a cottonball for reducing redness in ur eyebrows.
and moisturize your eyebrows for a week with a little water and Aquaphor by: Eucerin, then use a normal moisturising cream in ur brows. both can be found in any store like CVS, Rite Aid, Wallgreens, Walmart etc...

FT13,

This is a good idea. Anything that communicates the problem, possible causes, and possible remedies to dermatologists is what we need. In the future, is someone sees a derm who doesn't think this is really a problem or a derm who doesn't have a solution, send him/her this link.

Question: is this poll intended for only those with eyebrow redness?
