I finally understand what I have :D
I have always had little to no eyebrows, just a few sparse hairs and little red bumps. I do hate keratosis pilaris on my arms, but it's not that bad, but my lack of real eyebrows has a been a bit of a social thing since I can remember (I was ALWAYS the "eyebrow kid" in highschool).
Now, after searching for such a long time and going to doctors, and after looking at pictures and reading up I understand that I have ulerythema. Seriously, no one ever has been able to diagnose this, even dermatologists said "you just have thin eyebrows". In the meantime I have gotten used to it and people have gotten used as well. From what I have read it is impossible to fix, but it is very good to finally realise what it is. Thanks for setting up this info, it was the first page that appeared on my search. |

Re: I finally understand what I have :D
I was starting to loose my eyebrows for some unknown reason I've always been very hairy I've notice my K P was starting to get worse around these near my side burns since using
hemp oil in those areas are becoming clear and hair is began to thicken on sideburns lashes and brows give it a try. |

Re: I finally understand what I have :D
Glad you finally know the name! - It is very common for UO not to be diagnosed.
Interesting about the hemp oil. EFA's seem to help KP in various ways as they are continually being mentioned by people. I take an EFA supplement and I believe it has helped by skin quite a bit (I wouldn't say it is a magical cure but definately worth trying). Just googled 'hemp oil' and for those interested it contains: 80% essential fatty acids (EFAs), linoleic acid (LA, 50-70%), alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, 15–25%) and Gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA, 1–6%). There is a thread on the KPRF forum about "evening primrose oil" - it is high in linolenic acid and seems to have helped when taken internally.refer: gamma-Linolenic acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It would be great if someone could do some more research on EFA's and how they relate to KP and which 'acids' in particular seem to help the most. Let us now how you get on with your treatment |
