update

Hello all,

It's been a while. Lets see, something new to share w/you. I have been using demodex solutions now since jan '07 and have seen about a 75% reduction in redness. I still suffer from slow hair loss, but there are fine lighter hairs growing in place of the ones that have fallen out. My skin had been peeling in sheets after many months of treatment w/azaleic acid (which I have stopped completely). I have also noticed with the demodex treatment that my nose and cheeks are no longer red, and my face no longer flushes and burns. I still use a steriod cream a few times a month when I want the redness gone, and the itchy crawly sensation is completely gone. I would say this is a significant improvement, and will continue the demodex treatment. Any body else out there tried this? Curious.....

Hi - very interested in your results. There has not been much posted lately about UO and it is exciting to see someone having some real success with reducing the redness.

Hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions...

I don't know much about demodex cream - I presume it is to get rid of the demodex mite on your skin??? If this is the only thing you have been using I guess you can only surmise that the mites were causing or adding to the redness??? To be honest I really don't know much about these mites either - they have been mentioned on the board a few times but really have given them much thought until now.

I also have UO and even at 45 I still have times when my eyebrows really itch. I have had PDL treatment to reduce redness but sometimes it seems like my eyebrows are still 'fighting' something whereas my cheeks where PDL treatment has been done is quite well behaved now.

Maybe they are fighting bugs!

Do you have any theories on why your skins redness has reduced while using this cream?

I know you suffer from UO on the eyebrows - do you know what was causing the redness on your cheeks and nose - have you ever had a diagnosis for this redness?

Do you think the Azaelic acid helped at all? were you using this before the demodex cream or always using it alongside it?

Sorry for all the questions but your results are really significant and I am just trying to work out if it was the combination of products that helped or just the demodex cream. As you know UO is very rare and on my time on this board I have never read of anything helping this condition (apart from PDL treatment for the redness).

Thanks so much for sharing your success.

Hello-
I am new here - I am looking for more information on UO. After a lot of research on the internet I am suspecting that my toddler son has UO. He definately has KPRF. He does not have KPRF all the time - only when he gets mad - his face flares up. I too as a young girl had red cheeks. My mom thought they were just 'rosy'. I outgrew them by the time I was older and do not have any issues with KPRF - although my face still will flush easily if I am hot - but it seems to be very mild.

My question is - does the redness with UO come and go or are the eyebrows always red? When does hair loss begin occuring? Does hair loss always occur? Does anyone have any suggestions for coping / mangaing UO for a toddler?

I really apprecaite any advice! Thank you!
