Wow! I'm amazed at these tforums. I just joined and I can't believe what I'm reading. I've had thin eyebrows for years and now my daughter's eyebrows are thinning at the outer ends. She's 21. My pictures clearly show the loss of hair which I could never understand. At any rate, I've had permanent makeup applied to them and I feel so much better. I still brush a tiny bit of color on them but they look great.

Blondie is on a distinguished road
Hi Everyone!

I came across this site only the other day and boy is it good to know there are others out there with this skin condition. I suffer a little from kp on the backs of my arms and occasionally on my cheeks but the most annoying is the redness of the skin in my eyebrow area. I can never really remember a time when I didn't have it and I have tried just about everything I can think of to clear it up. The hair on my eyebrows is very fair, fine and thin....but I always put that down to being very blonde! Now I find from this site that maybe that isn't the reason and maybe 'uo' is what it is! I have just reached 50 (groan!) and having this infliction has always held me back from really enjoying life. I am female so am able to cover up the problem with make-up but I hate to be seen without it, so hence, I avoid water-sports and the like. I used to avoid sleep-overs ect when I was a teenager. Silly I know but because I never knew of anyone having the same thing I always thought I would be considered 'weird'....and nobody likes to be catorgorized as that! Whilst now knowing that their are others 'out there' with the same thing won't make the redness go away, I no longer feel so different or alone! I will keep reading this site and contributing with whatever I can find out now that I at least know what it is called. I will also try some of the suggestions that I have read too! Thanks guys keeponasmilin'

Blondie, I have the same exact thing, you aren't alone. I've been to many derms and they have no clue, or any cures. I've talked to doctors around the world and still no definitive treatment. I'm lost with it. It too has held me back from doing many fun things. I'm sick of it! I'm a guy so I'm not comfortable wearing the makeup, plus I work outside and sweat a lot so it would just smear or come off. Wish someone could really help us. We need a derm that has this stupid condition to research it and solve it.

Redbrow

Have both...have always had both. Very discouraging. I can't seem to shake the red brows. I've tried about everything. The hair folicles are too scared I think to grow anymore. it's called atropia i think. All I can do is cover it up with Eucerin Redness Relief lotion.

I also have both the red cheeks (keratosis pilaris rubra faceii) and the red eyebrows (ulerythema ophryogenes) that are becoming more sparse everyday. They both bother me on a daily basis and I've tried practically every product on both the cheeks and eyebrows. I've had both since I was about 15 and I'm now 21. I'm still hopeful that something positive will come along.
