Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

I believe I found the root cause for keratosis pilaris! It’s taken me a lot of research, and im an optimistic person. But this is the most promising research I have ever come across.
This post is about angiogenesis and its link to many diseases, including obesity!
Angiogenesis: The formation of new blood vessels, especially blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to cancerous tissues.
Angiogenesis is linked to over 70 previously thought to be incurable conditions. It may not seem like something that could cause KP, however it is now believed to be the cause of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea along with a ton of other things.
Pathological angiogenesis contributes to over 70 (previously thought to be incurable) diseases including cancer, obesity, age related macular degeneration, diabetic blindness, and rheumatoid arthritis. And they are all treatable with anti-angiogenesis agents.
Take a minute to watch this video, an excellent presentation on the role of angiogenesis and disease; it’s really important to watch this to get a better understanding of what I’m talking about.
Video link: William Li: Can we eat to starve cancer? | Video on TED.com

Now watch the video before you ask me questions or continue reading, because I don’t want to write a 100 page forum post on why I believe angiogenesis is the root cause of KP.
Here is a link that explains how angiogenesis causes (or contributes) to psoriasis: How Angiogenesis Complicates Psoriasis
It says: Immune mediated events translate into production of pro-angiogenic factors. Uncontrolled angiogenesis, epidermal cell proliferation and localized chronic inflammation result in the formation of a psoriatic plaque.
Think about it, KP is also an immune mediated response to things in the skin, possibly things that our body doesn’t normally attack but they do because so much blood is being supplied to the follicle.

Ok now if you saw the video (which I hope you did!) then you know that you can eat powerful anti- angiogenesis foods that are as powerful, or in some cases more powerful then pharmaceutical drugs. Which is pretty awesome, here is a list of the top 6 most powerful known so far anti- angiogenesis foods:
    • Blue berries
    • Garlic
    • Soy
    • Green tea
    • Dark chocolate
    • Red wine
Source for top rated foods: Anti-Angiogenesis Foods - Agents That Fight Cancer Naturally: Alternative Cancer
This research is still new so who knows what else will be on the list in the future =)
Why do I think this will cure KP, its simple. Because anti-angiogenesis treatment has shown effective for psoriasis, eczema and rosacea, and research is still being made so no connection to KP has been made yet. But who cares? Because we all know that this skin condition is related to the other incurable skin conditions. And since when is KP put on the spotlight for much research? Its never because its not as bad as psoriasis or eczema. So everyone lets be thankful that we don’t have those horrible skin conditions and we have one of the milder versions. But if you do have those as well, just be thankful that scientist around the world are discovering cool new stuff like this

This is why angiogenesis causes weight gain:
    Obesity

Obesity is a disease now linked to angiogenesis. Adipose tissue is highly vascularized, and angiogenesis promotes fat expansion by supplying fat cells with oxygen and nutrients. Fat tissue itself contains many promoters of angiogenesis, including angiogenic stem cells. Laboratory studies have shown that inhibiting angiogenesis in obese mice decreases their weight to normal levels. Obesity increases the risk of various cancers. Obese individuals have increased levels of proangiogenic factors that may contribute to tumor growth.

Now I get to the anti-angiogenesis diet!
Based on what I read, and I could be wrong so PLEASE do research also and contribute to this. But eating a good amount of powerful anti-angiogenesis foods for EVERY meal of every day will be the only way to get results. So that top most powerful list above will be very helpful. I don’t wanna hear “BUT I EAT BLUEBERRIES” or something and your kp is still there. Its not about if you eat this stuff, its about eating it consistently every meal in large enough amounts to make a difference.
Here is a list of other foods that are high in anti-angiogenesis properties:
    List of Anti-Angiogenic Foods
ill type it out here so u don’t always got to click the dumb link if u revisit for reference:

    • green tea
    • artichokes
    • blackberries
    • cranberries
    • pineapple
    • grapefruit
    • Red wine
    • cauliflower
    • ginseng
    • turmeric
    • parsley
    • grape seed oil
    • dark chocolate
    • tomatoes
    • raspberries
    • garlic
    • cherries
    • lemons
    • kale
    • Brussels sprouts
    • Licorice
    • Maitake mushroom
    • Pumpkin
    • Nutmeg
    • Soy beans
    • Strawberries
    • Blueberries
    • Apples
    • Oranges
    • Red grapes
    • Broccoli
    • Bok choy
    • Lavender
    • Ginger
    • Olive oil

There you go, some good anti-angiogenesis foods for you to pig out on. Add them to your diet, eat powerful amounts per meal every single day and see if it helps. Remember your trying to make your body have a healthy angiogenesis balance, which is basically blood vessel formation in a healthy amount. So give it however long it takes (I’m not sure) for your body’s blood vessels to retreat.
Here are a couple of supplements that couldn’t hurt to use alongside the diet, although I’m not sure if its necessary.
This is a pill from a paw paw plant (do your own research) that is said to have high anti-angiogenesis properties: List of Anti-Angiogenic Foods its used for an alternative form of fighting cancer.
Here is a pill that is sold as a powerful anti-angiogenesis agent for people with eczema or psoriasis. At least that’s how its marketed, it don’t matter the point is it’s got good anti-angiogenesis properties: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...EYS28X9KQ6GCFA

And here is an exerpt from this site: Dr. Li’s Cancer Fighting Anti-angiogenic Foods | insightful nutrition
How You Can Eat (and Drink) to Defeat Cancer
Eating to defeat cancer can be accomplished simply by adding a few anti-angiogenic foods to your meals each day, like those listed above. Like life itself, one’s diet is all about making choices. Since we all eat every day, why not choose foods that can reduce your risk of disease? Listed below are some food facts, supported by scientific research, to help you get the most cancer fighting benefits from your diet.
 Be picky. Red Delicious and Granny Smith apples have twice as many cancer fighters as Fuji or Golden Delicious apples. The San Marzano tomato contains more cancer fighters than any other variety. Wine grapes grown in cooler climates have more cancer fighters than grapes grown in warmer climates.
 Eat Your Sprouts. Broccoli sprouts can contain more cancer-fighting properties than regular broccoli.
 Dunk Your Teabag. Dunking a tea bag up and down releases more cancer-fighting molecules than letting the bag just sit in the cup.
 Cook Your Vegetables. Raw tomatoes are good, but cooking them in olive oil is better.
 Chew Your Greens. Chewing leafy greens helps to release enzymes that activate cancer-fighting molecules embedded deep in the leaves.
 Go Soy. Fermented soy, like the kind used in miso soup, contains four times more cancer fighters than regular soybeans.
 Choose one cancer fighting food for each meal. At 3 meals each day, that adds up to more than a thousand of cancer fighting food choices each year.

THESE ARE FACTORS THAT PROMOTE ANGIOGENESIS
    according to: http://www.angio.org/understanding/diet.php
    Stress

"Stress activates the ‘fight or flight’ response in the body. Many stress hormones are released, among them are catecholamines and neuropeptides. Both of these molecules influence cancer cell growth and tumor angiogenesis. Norepinephrine and epinephrine are potent stimulators of tumor vascularization, acting directly on the endothelial cells comprising blood vessels. They also cause cancer cells to release angiogenic factors that grow blood vessels to feed tumors. Relaxation decreases catecholamines and neuropeptides in the bloodstream. Decrease your stress levels. Get enough sleep."

this may explain how hormone levels in pregnant or teen people could affect angiogenesis and cause KP or eczema or whatever. And also explain why some people are more prone because we may produce hormones that promote angiogenesis.

    according to the same website:
    "Smoking

Cigarette smoking causes cancer and serious lung damage. The many carcinogens found in cigarette smoke stimulate angiogenesis and increase the growth rate of lung cancers. Smoking increases the production by lung cancer cells and inflammatory cells of the angiogenic protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Studies by veterinarians have also shown that secondary smoke found on the fur of cats, increases the risk of oral cancers when cats lick their fur. Don’t smoke. If you do, quit to improve your health. Avoid secondary smoke.
    "

so maybe IF you smoke, itll aid if you quit.

PERHAPS THERE ARE FOODS THAT STIMULATE ANGIOGENESIS, and maybe if we can find out what they are they should be avoided along with stress =)

There you have it people! I accidently stumbled on this research while searching for a cure for KP, it was dumb luck. I have started (since yesterday) on a strong anti-angiogenesis diet. I do not know if this will cure KP, but I am PRETTY DAMN SURE IT WILL. It does effectively treat eczema, psoriasis and rosacea so, ill keep my fingers crossed. I believe this is one of the many linked incurable diseases that angiogenesis therapy will help. Only one way to find out!
All you KP and KPRF sufferers, be happy that this research is out now, and soak up the information and add to this post because I can’t know everything, and more people researching will bring better information.
Share this info with your friends who have the other skin conditions or who are obese. It’s amazing that the cause of obesity is over production of blood vessels feeding fat cells which makes them get big fast!

NOW FOR A PART YOU DON’T HAVE TO READ, im going to rant a bit… I tried to keep it separate so if u want to skip reading too much you can.
Ive been trying to get rid of KP for years, I got aluminum oxide crystals with lotion and scrubbed my skin 2 times a day for 8 stinking months and it didn’t do a thing. I eliminated gluten from my diet for 3 months and it didn’t do a thing. I put dandruff shampoos for 6 month and it didn’t do a damn thing! And I came up with a lot of theories on the possible cause for KP, just read my forums. I spent months and months straight research time trying to find links because I wont take “no cure” for an answer
I keep reading people on this forum saying there is no common cause, everyone’s cause is different. Oh yeah? Then why do we all have the same problem? If all the causes are different, if you go on psoriasis and eczema forums they spout the exact same ideas as are spouted on this forum. And the same exact treatments are given on every forum for success.
And people keep saying stupid stuff like “oh its toxins” toxins? Come on be specific. Saying toxins did it is like saying God did it, not a good explanation very vague and not helpful.
People act like these new diseases are random new causes from the new age of mankind where we use preservatives and have pesticides. As if all these horrible conditions are caused by our new era of processed foods, guess what? The first recorded case of psoriasis is like 315 BC or something like that, im defiantly not accurate but I researched it once and it was 300 something AD or BC, it don’t matter the point is a LONG TIME AGO. And keratosis pilaris has treatments in old ancient Chinese remedies but they called it “goose flesh” so these disorders have existed when EVERYONE ate EVERYTHING organic, because no one had a choice. So its not going to get cured by cutting that stuff out, however, it may be good for you to cut it out.

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

That is really, really interesting. I completely agree with your "rant" at the end, too. There has to be a root cause!

My grandmother has macular degeneration, my mom has rosacea, vitiligo, eczema, and sebhorrheic keratosis (I know, lucky, right?), and I and my brother and sister have keratosis pilaris and who knows what else we will get from my mom in the future. Many of these conditions are on the list, so I am really convinced that is what it could be.

I am going to the dermatologist tomorrow. The last time he said, "Unfortunately, you all have very chronic problems and not much can be done." I hate that. It is like they don't even care! If topical treatments rarely work really well, then obviously it is something from the inside that is causing it.

Good work and keep us updated on your diet!

    You are my idol lol!

get ur mom and family informed about this stuff, my grandma has macular degeneration as well. this is the cause, its effective at curing psoriasis and eczema. its easy to do just start eating those foods.
remember ur docs wont give u Anti-Angiogenesis medication for keratosis pilaris or even eczema, cuz its not FDA approved for that. However it is showing to be effective at treating all of it.
i will keep everyone updated though =)
im glad someone else sees the brilliance to this discovery and how it causes KP, even makes ppl fat.. craziness

Interesting stuff. You may also be interested in reading up on epigenetics too since that is the layer that "turns on/off" genetic factors and is affected by chemical compounds in these foods.
I have some links scattered around this forum if you Search for epigenetic.

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

research done on eczema and psoriasis patients showing great improvment with an anti angiogenesis pill that had bindweed extract in it
    3jnjpharma.com

    here is a quote:
A 59 year-old male was diagnosed with severe eczema and presented a rash and pustules over 70% of his body. The patient was treated with oral steroid with no improvement. The patient had been experiencing symptoms of eczema for approximately 10 years.
The patient was treated with 2000 mg of bindweed extract, three times daily. After two weeks of treatment, the rash and pustules had faded and dried. After 6-7 weeks of treatment, the patient showed no visual evidence of the eczema.

thats just 1 of many examples on the site, i really believe that angiogenesis is the cause of KP as well, im ordering some bindweed extract pills as i type this =)
i will post results and edit the title of this post to "cure for KP" if it works, that way more ppl see it

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

look at this list of anti angiogenesis suppliments being researched:

Drugs and natural substances being researched in the U.S., Canada, Australia and for their antiangiogenic properties include:

Bevacizumab, for colorectal cancer, some lung cancers and metastasized breast cancer
    Cannabis (THC), for gliomas
    Curcumin
    Garlic
    Ginseng
    Green Tea Polyphenols
    Licorice
    Mushrooms and other fungi
    Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids
    Quercetin
    Red Wine Polyphenols
Shark Cartilage, as Neovastat by Aeterna Labs, Canada, for renal carcinoma, lung, prostate cancer
    Snake Venom
    Soy Beans
Squalamine, by Genaera Labs, PA for some lung, ovarian cancers
    Tetrathiomolybdate copper (very high risk)
    Thalidomide, for gliomas
    Tree Bark
    Vitamin D3

some of them have been shown helpful for KP, omega 3's are even in there, cool!
maybe this is why it helps

Source: Newsvine - Anti-Angiogenic Cancer Drugs Include Cannabis, Ginger, Curcumin, Omega-3, Many Familiar Natural Substances

    anti angiogenesis lotions too
    http://www.aviva.ca/shop/products.as...6850&catid=158

st johns wort lotion is also supposed to be a good anti angiogenesis thing to put on the skin
also green tea lotions or oil on the skin inhibits angiogenesis on the skin

This reminds me of how Turquois used to talk about "vascularization" of the KP plugs as being part of the issue, esp with the "red dots" we get. There's something to this. I still shed some larger plugs on my legs and even though they end up sticking WAY out and are completely ready to fall out and with less inflammation than I ever had, they always bleed a teeny tiny bit, they don't just "fall out and leave normal skin behind" like some people who have been more fortunate in their healing. More garlic and blueberries for me! (and peas, and liver, both very good for epigenetic normalization. also leafy greens. aw hell, more veggies dammit.)

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

i just started a strong anti angiogenesis pill regime. Im taking 4 pills of angioblock 3 times a day on an empty stomach. im taking a buncha garlic pills, really good ones each meal like, 6 garlic pills or more (i just grab a bunch it doesnt really matter if u eat more garlic then you need). and im taking sulforphane pills, its a broccoli sprout extract thats high in anti angiogenesis. the sulforphane is super cheap too.
ANYWAYS i just started the high concentrations of anti angiogenesis stuff yesterday because i just got the pills in the mail

Ill keep anyone reading this updated on its progress.

Oh and if you read about st johns wort lotion, sulforaphane lotion, or green tea oil and lotion... they all got good effects on rosacea, eczema, psoriasis... and each one of those lotions or oils is a strong anti angiogenesis thingy.

The funny thing is if you read the sites that sell that stuff, they cite diffrent reasons on why it works and helps ease, not many people have linked angiogenesis and the effect of the successful treatments on eczema and psoriasis

Oh yeah they also use all those lotions for acne.

and like im sure anyone who has been studying KP knows, it seems like all these skin conditions are connected because the same treatments work for all the different skin conditions. pretty much anyways

Anyways if it works like i HOPE it does ill keep u all updated, ill post again when i see a real difference, im not talking "hmm is it different?" kinda thing, im talking a really obvious difference, ill post if that happens

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

a little improvement but its only been like 2 weeks about, ill give it a few months since KP is embedded in the skin i dont think the results will be as fast as open sores like eczema and psoriasis, cuz its like a sliver and has to work itself out.
Anyways u read the "worse case of KP treated naturally, success story on page 76" post? it took her 4 months to have baby smooth skin

so give me at least a couple months before its dismissed, so ill report back when enough time to determine weather or not this works passes

Anyways i do have some progress, all the acne on my body disappeared within a week, i had only a little bit on my back and thats gone, also the bumps seem to be more flesh colored then they were, but as i said its too early to see if it works
give it a couple months to see if it fixes it, im not gonna dismiss it yet since other good treatments that made ppl have clear skin took a few months

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

I agree we should give it time. I have a question, you said you were taking 4 pills of angioblock 3 times a day, which means you take 12 pills total? I think I read somewhere that patients were successfully treated for psoriasis with 2000 mg of dermaweed daily, and the pills I found online were 1800 mg. I'm assuming angioblock then has a totally different active ingredient that is safer in large quantities, or that each individual pill contains a small amount of whatever ingredient.

Whatever the case, I am excited to see your results within the coming months!

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

angioblock is 1,000 mg a pill, and the directions say 4 pills 3 times a day. I woulda done the 2 thousand 3 times a day but for some reason the pills said more, so i decided to play it safe because maybe is weaker and take the 4 pills 3 times a day

Which pills did you find that were 1800mg? dermaweed is a mix of a bunch of stuff, i dont think it has bindweed in it, thats why i didnt get it, it might be better though im not sure

I got a very severe case of KP, its not mildly on one part of my body, so i expect to be one of the people that will take the longest to see results.

im not sure if over dosing on bindweed extract is possible i havnt read anything about it, a couple times i took 4 pills 4 times a day, which is 16, but normally its 12 a day

also just be aware that there are a lot of diffrent types of bindweed extract out there, i mean diffrent species of the plants. i think there are 250 species? so u gotta be sure its the right one in the pill when u get it.

1 more thing, i got a severe case of KP, its all over my body. Ive seen a dermatologist and they said they never seen a case as generalized as mine, it covers at least 80% of my body... but my face is clear luckily
anyways im just saying that so u know, the KP is itchy red and everywhere. So any treatment i get itll most likely take the max amount of time in order to see results.

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

Dermaweed was previously known as bindweed extract, it is 1800 mg of Calystegia soldanella (leaves) extract, is this the proper bindweed that would inhibit angiogenesis? or should I just play it safe and order some angioblock instead?

The bindweed in DermaWeed is a sea bindweed, and the bindweed in angioblock is Convolvulus arvensis, a field bindweed. Sea bindweed is supposedly 4 times more potent than field bindweed, and has an affinity for the skin. This is all according to Angiostat [Archive] - The Rosacea Forum

If you can't overdose on bindweed then I suppose that takes away my fear of taking so many pills a day. It just seemed odd to me. I would consider my KP almost severe, my arms are bright red and my thighs covered in dots, though I dont really have any on my back/stomach/etc. I just really hope this works for you, the principles behind it make perfect sense.

Thank you and please keep us updated!

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

sweet dude i didnt really research bindweed much, lol. now ill order that to make sure im taking the right stuff

thanks a lot! i am unsure weather or not angioblock is the right one, i know sea bindweed is
dermaweed is probably the best thing to use

Allright i just ordered 10 bottles, thanks for the heads up

im sure the angioblock i was taking was still beneficial but its not sea bindweed, and im not sure if it has an affinity for the skin. Its allright though my moms been taking angioblock and her migrains went away and its helped with other stuff, derma weed for me though. ill take both for a while

Thanks for the heads up, i got so swamped in research that i didnt even check dermaweed out much, i dismissed it after reading something and stopped looking into it, you opened my eyes... plus i was busy playing mass effect

Re: Angiogenesis root cause/cure of psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, obesity, macular degeneration and KP!

    Thanks for posting this, Qdizzle!
Very interesting read (and video!). I've heard about the importance of antioxidants in the fight against cancer but not in treating eczema and psoriasis..
I think whatever it is that causes KP, it's definitely genetic! My whole family has mild to more severe skin-problems. I have "medium" KP (but im very fair-skinned so it shows a lot) and my father has a severe case of it. My mother doesn't have KP but suffers from psoriasis, so angiogenesis could very well be it.

I think you could really be onto something big here.. Eager to hear about your results! Please tell us if you see any improvement at all!

    All the best, JT.

About KeratosisPilaris.org

Keratosis Pilaris is a very common benign genetic skin condition. KeratosisPilaris.org is the definitive resource for KP on the internet.

KP appears as rough or bumpy skin on the back and/or outer sides of your upper arms. The severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. You can also manifest it on the face as a natural blush (known as KPRF or Keratosis Pilaris Rubra Faceii).

This community is composed primarily of KeratosisPilaris.org community members, but is also open for those interested in the topic.
