Househole bleach and Vaseline - all gone

I wipe household bleach on my buttocks and back of my arms, wait 2 or 3 minutes then jump in shower or bath. Before toweling off myself dry - I put regular cheap Vaseline on my body while still wet.
Towel off and within 1 week - my follicles are clear and bumps are gone.
I don't know if the bleach is safe to use like that but I haven't experienced any side effects.
    Hope this helps anyone suffering.

Cholrine is not safe to use on skin. It is toxic.

    From:
    Chlorine poisoning: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia
    It can cause;
    Burns
Holes (necrosis) in the skin or tissues underneath =necrosis is the death of your tissue, it turns black because it is dead
    Irritation

    bad idea.
Cheap common acids that will help exfoliate are diluted vinegar and lemon juice.

All dietary treatments above help reduce my sinus congestion and joint pain besides help my skin.

Small amounts of bleach pass through the skin. Chlorine bleach is considered a hazardous chemical.
    Chemical Fact Sheets -- Chlorine

The bleach is perhaps killing bacteria, but there are safer ways to do this. Vinegar is one. Salt scrubs may also help you.

Hi everyone - please do a search for "household bleach and chronic eczema ".
Bleach baths are now being used to treat Children with chronic eczema and having wonderful results.

I'm putting it directly on my skin briefly but maybe just a bath would have the same affect - to unclog the follicles. This is the first time I've ever had soft arms and butt. I'm going to try just doing the baths (and Vaseline) and see if my skin stays clear.

Let's put this in proper context using an article on the study (which i think it would have been better netiquette for you to have provided links rather than asking us to do searching to support your position/treatment, but since we are here trying to help each other, here you go...)

Patients "were instructed to draw a bath twice a week with a heavily diluted bleach solution a half-cup of bleach per 40 gallons of water and immerse their limbs and torsos, leaving the neck and head above water, for five to 10 minutes each time. They were told to pat dry afterward and apply a heavy slathering of moisturizer... After three months, the group using bleach baths reported improvement of symptoms in the areas of the body that had been submerged, with 67% of those using bleach baths benefiting, compared with just 15% of those who bathed in normal water. "

Doctors "underscore that bleach baths should be used as one component of a larger treatment strategy for chronic eczema, always in consultation with a doctor, and that bleach should never be applied directly to the skin. For patients with severe skin damage such as cracking, baths of any kind including dilute bleach may initially be too painful, and should be introduced later in treatment only after the skin has begun to improve."

So I stand by my opinion that using bleach directly on the skin seems like a bad idea. But a diluted bleach bath such as described might have similar benefit that some KPers report after being in swimming pools, reducing secondary infections and who knows what else. My bathtub would not hold 40 gallons. With me in it I would estimate around 20 gallons so I would only use a quarter cup of bleach if I were to do this. I find pools worsen my KP so I wouldn't but for those who do see benefit I could see trying this and being cautious about the amount of bleach.

KP appears as rough or bumpy skin on the back and/or outer sides of your upper arms. The severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. You can also manifest it on the face as a natural blush (known as KPRF or Keratosis Pilaris Rubra Faceii).

This community is composed primarily of KeratosisPilaris.org community members, but is also open for those interested in the topic.
