Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
I have a feeling that it might take longer if I only use soap/lotion but since it is slower, there might not be one huge breakout because it isn't a huge shock of the SBT. It sounds like people are "OD"ing a bit haha.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Thanks for the relies folks,
looks like the reaction is now beginning to kick in as I have some nasty big red spots on my arms now...uuuuurgh I have dead mites in my skin! ICK! The Weleda products do smell lovely though, which is more than can be said for the buckthorn juice, which tastes like cold sick. I am sure it is doing me no end of good... |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
I just started this. I used the Aubrey soap on my left arm last night to check I wasn't allergic then this morning I washed my whole body with the soap and I took 2 capsules twice in the day and I've just washed my arms again tonight. I think my arms are already looking worse.
I'm glad if they get worse because that would mean it's working probably but the first post says it takes a week or 2 to get worse so is my body reacting very quickly or am I just imagining it's getting worse? How long have other people taken to notice the effects? |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
In regaurds to the seabuckthorn soap, it differs as far as how long it takes to see results. I started seeing results in about 4 days. Now, there is no itching and far fewer bumps on my arms and my face looks less red and no bumps. I use the soap all over and have not had other break outs. I have started using coconut oil after showering and cannot believe the difference it makes. My skin has never been this smooth before. I would have never believed that putting oil on my already oily face would work so well. I looked up cocconut oil on the web and read a ton of info about the benifits. In fact, I use no other lotion or roscea ointment on my face. Hope this info helps. |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
hi everyone,
Just thought I'd update everyone on my progress. So I've been using the soap (every other day) for about a month now, the shampoo every other day for about 3-4 weeks, and the lotion (aubrey's) for about 2-3 weeks and well .... I haven't had a breakout, nor have I noticed any noticeable improvement in my KP. Perhaps, I'm not using the soap regularly enough, or I need to be more consistent with the SBT capsules, lotion, etc .... but it's not doing much for me... ![]() |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Hope4thebest,
Do you feel itchy sometimes? Because if that's the case, maybe you are doing just fine, but you need to use the soap and lotion more often, like every day. The shampoo is good every other day. BG |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Hope4thebest,
I found that using seabuckthorn soap twice a day and allowing it to sit on your skin a few minites before rinsing off worked well for me. Also, I have started using coconut oil right after showering. I do add a small amount of massage oil,"Black current and vanilla", from Bath and Body. It smells heavenly. I only use the non-perfumed oil straight from the tub on my face. My skin has never looked better. My kp on my arms looks so muck better; only a few whtie bumps and very smooth. There still are areas of redness but I think with continued treatment, I will see continued good results. The skin on my face is looking great too. I am almost 47 and only have one or two wrinkles,(good Swedish genes!), but have struggled with adlut acne/kp/roscea,oily skin, large pores and black heads. I also have several small, flesh colord bumps on my face. I did have one frozen off a few years ago but they have become more numerous in recent years. I swear, I can not believe what has been happening! My skin looks and feels firmer with smaller pores and a huge improvment in black heads. Also, the bumps are dissapering too. The one on my left cheeck is almost flat. It is slowly peeling off. I have done alot of research on the net about the health benifits of coconut oil. I plan on purchasing some oil just for ingestion. Will keep posted of results. Good luck all! |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Hi all,
Well after so much success with the seabuckthorn soap and coconut oil , I had a setback last night. My face had large, greasy pores with both white and black heads and a large pimple on my forehead. My butt and left thigh also had pimple like kp and my arms looked horrible with lots of white pimple kp and rednes. UGH! What the heck was going on? The only thing I had done differently was to start ingesting small amounts of coconut oil. The stuff I bought only said "100% coconut oil " on the label. I looked up the company on the net and still couldn't find out anymore info. I have read that an inferior oil can clog pores. I remembered that I had the sbt lotion that finally arrived 3 weeks late so I slatherd that on and used some Clean and Clear oil control cream on my face. What a difference a day makes. My skin looked back to "normal", my face was clear and my arms looked wonderful with no pimples and no redness. I think I will add the sbt lotion to my regimen. This breakout could be caused by;another mite purge;poor quality coconut oil;toxins purging from the coconut oil; or, pms. Oh my! I plan on getting another type of coconut oil to try. I will keep posting on results. Good luck all! |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Quote:
I don't think I'm imagining it because it used to be the same size as a mole on my cheek but now it just looks like a small pimple. It's not something I really hated or anything because it wasn't very noticeable but my mother has one right on the end of her nose and if this gets rid of mine I will get her to try it as I think she'd look better without it. She has KP a bit too but not as bad as mine. Does anyone know what these bumps are called as I'd be interested in researching this? PS I am only using capsules (4 daily) and the Aubrey soap 1-2 times daily and I'm using it on my face as well as it seems very mild and actually less drying than proper face soaps/cleansers. |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Thank you for the post!
I just found this website this week because my 22 month old son was diagnosed with KP, and he has Rubra Faceii (a really red face). I got nervous when I noticed the KP spread down his arms (before I knew it was KP). I think he has the demodex parasite, and I will be purchasing some soaps and lotions. The redness on his face started in a small area on one cheak and on his chin and started spreading from there. It went to the other cheak and spread to his nose and even around his eyebrows. I thought some of the spots may have been ring worm and I put an anti-fungual there and it seemed to die but left dry skin. Then I noticed bumps on the back of his arms and in one or two days, he had little bumps all the way down the tops of his arms. The bumps and skin surface changed to patches of redness, as it did on his face. My mom has rosacea and I have some bumps on my upper arms but I often get the sores on my scalp and I have an increase in acne as I get older, so I will be trying the treatment as well. My son and I seem to get sick a lot, and my mother did also when she was younger. Furthermore my son's KP flared up when he had a bad fever and virus for a week, so it seems to have attacked when he was sick. I am dissapointed that the doctor's don't seem to have any clue about this condition and the causes. I could really see that it spread as if it was moving accross my son's body. I will let people know how the treatment works. In the short term I will be using coconut oil as I've heard it has a lot of healing powers and some others with KP have found it to be helpful. It has been known to help the immune system as well. The organic form is a great oil to cook with and can be used on the skin also. I will let people know how it works on me and my little boy- Zeeker |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
arg - I can't stop myself!
cPA=palmitoleic acid "Both natural and synthetic cPA were found to be the most active sebum lipid fraction in blocking the adherence of a pathogenic strain of Candida albicans to porcine stratum corneum. Ethanol in combination with cPA exerts a synergistic bactericidal activity against gram-negative pathogenic bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Propionibacterium acnes, Escherichia coli, and several methacillin-resistant strains of S. aureus. Palmitoleic acid may be useful in topical formulations for treatment of secondary gram-positive bacterial infections, as a gram-positive bacteria antimicrobial in wound dressings, and as a natural gram-positive antimicrobial preservative in skin and hair care products." Palmitoleic Acid Isomer (C16:1Δ6) in Human Skin Sebum Is Effective against Gram-Positive Bacteria palmitoleic acid as in sea buckthorn oil, macadamia nut oil and mink oil and also what our bodies _should_ biosynthesize from palmitic acid (in coconut oil, e.g.) maybe you're killing candida, not mites? or both? or who knows what but these oils sure help a lot of us maybe for various reasons... bd |
