Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hello everyone, I'm from Russia and seems like also have KP. At least since 6year old [as i remember ]. It really was not one-day desease, it spread following years and even now not covering all my body, but huge part of it. There are also couple another sympthoms, so I hope it's demodex and i can really counter-attack on it.

My dermatoloist suggest me to use moisturizing cream, quite expensive one, so I go google internet and youtube for analogs, and found recommendation at comments to google about "Sea Buckthorn and KP". So I'm here . Thanks everybody for guide and reports.

Week ago I've seen this video [ youtube. com/watch?v=zAF9PPhnatU& ]. It's about making moisturizer from olive oil. I've used it 2x per day and now i see my skin geting much worster with acne. About two pages ago here was link [ rosacea-support. org/just-how-do-you-kill-demodex-mites.html ] to article about different oils killing demodex mite, may be olive oil also can do it.

Anyway, yesterday I ride to local shop and bought shampoo, shower gel with Sea Buckthorn and also about 1 liter of pure Sea Buckthorn oil and linseed oil [box says that it has many omega* fats inside, more than fish fat oil]. [I've never used anything with this component before] There was no soap, but i hope can found it later at pharmashop or smw, I have shower gel now anyway.
I've looked for Sea Buckthorn jam or smth to have it with food, but found nothing this time .

So, from today I gonna use shampoo and shower gel twice per day and also make "moisturizing cream" like that one with olive oil, but with Sea Buckthorn oil and apply it every time after shower. Also every morning I will do
Oil Pulling using both Sea Buckthorn and linseed oils. Hope I'll could report some reaction in about 2-4weeks.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hey Jofowler!!
I thought that might be a very good idea you had about putting the oil in your shampoo. I only bought the Aubrey Organics Seabuckthorn Soap and Cream. I just washed my hair with the soap then with my regular shampoo afterward. It really helped alot but I'm still fighting it. I haven't tried this yet but I have read that Sulphur Soap and Sulphur cream work very well at helping a person clear up. It's inexpensive too. I believe one can purchase it at the drugstore such as Walgreens or CVS. It's pretty common stuff. Good Luck!!

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hey everyone! I coincidently found out I have KP just yesterday.I was googling ways of curing ingrown hairs(as I thought that was my KP and I still think it may be a part of it) and found a site explaining my condition and photos...I always thought I was the only one and now that I know I'm not I feel a little bit relieved.I can't say I didn't cry my eyes out yesterday as I read the words "no cure"(this proves I DID have hope of being normal) but after finding this post and site all I can say is I WILL FIGHT! Many of the symptoms are like mine so I might have the mites too(I really hope I do because I think this is the best cure I've found so far).My hair gets oily very fast not to mention the falling part. When I was a child it was only the upper hands, now it's spread throughout my whole hands and my whole legs(shame on you KP).I don't know who I inherited it from since both my mom and dad have nice skin.Sores and scabs-check! Itching-don't know.It could be a habit by now.I'm 15 and when I read it will get worse I panicked...seriously? My mom doesn't permit me to do the sea buckthorn treatment before going to the doctor-yup,you guessed right.Even though I've known about it for a long time I couldn't bring myslef to go to the doctor and show her my hideous skin which only my mom's seen so far.I hope the doctor doesn't say it's acne or something like that.Well wish me luck cos I'm wishing you!Let's all get better lifes and gain confidence in ourselves!

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hi there
I am a 24 y/o european male from New Zealand.
Currently it is 12:30am here in New Zealand, I am sitting in bed scratching and my upper arms are covered in KP and red sores and many scars from my scratching. My KP has got really bad over the last few years and I feel so relieved having come across this site and information regarding this mite which I new nothing about. It makes so much sence why anti-dandruff shampoo doesn't stop my head from scratching and why all these creams I use don't seem to work.
I have suffered from KP since a child, I have been to doctors many times and have been prescribed steroidal creams etc or told there is nothing they or I can do.
I am going to go to the health store tomorrow and purchase some Sea products. I will keep everyone updated on my progress. I am genuienly very excited about this I don't think I'll sleep tonight!! Thanks again for this site and everyones contributions!!

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Well, here's an update from me. I tried the seabuckthorn treatment for about 6 months. A few weeks in I got the initial breakout, large pimples scattered over my body, but the months following that there was no visible decrease in my KP. I continued to use the soap, shampoo, lotion and capsules for six months but no results. Guess it wasn't for me.

On to other options.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

I have had these bumps on my upper arms and legs for as long as I can remember. I do recall feeling very self-conscious as a child because I thought I had pimples all over my body. I would constantly pick at them, hoping that they would go away. I am now in my 30's and STILL have the SAME issues with bumps all over my arms and legs. I am STILL self-conscious, covering my arms (as they are much worse than my legs) and keeping a distance from those who want to get close (husband and kids). At my wedding I wore long gloves, not because of the fashion, but because they covered my grosse arms. I can't explain how horrible it feels inside when someone 'accidentally' gets close enough to me to touch my arms and I hear "Are you cold?" "You have goosebumps!" Or I just get a shocked look, like how can you have such nasty skin? At least that's the way I feel. I feel so ugly. I am a picker and always have been. My husband tells me that the picking makes it look worse than it really is, but he doesn't understand what it's like to have these bumps ALL OVER! I am so good at picking, I use my fingernails and pull out the white substance and the coiled hair without making it bleed. (not recommended)
I have lived with this for well over 25 years and I never knew there was a name for this. I was always too embarrased to bring it to any doctor's attention. I tried every acne treatment I could think of....of course, with no positive results. I just figured I was doomed to be "the pretty girl with nasty skin". I can not explain how relieved I felt when I saw this forum. Just to know that I am not alone, and that there is hope! I had tears in my eyes just to think that I may one day have smooth skin on my arms! My husband and kids may be able to hug me without me pulling back for fear they may feel my arms! Elation!
I just received my Organic Seabuckthorn Bar Soap in the mail today. I am gonna try that along with oil pulling of Organic Coconut Oil, starting tomorrow morning. I bought it at online at vitacost all for $13.70 including shipping. A SMALL price to pay for the potential of having this condition lessen or even go away! I am excited because my husband is going to be OP with me (he has ulcerative colitis and conventional meds are not working) and we are very hopeful and prayerful that this will bring benefits to our lives. We do intent to also purchase Seabuckthorn Oil to ingest daily but do not have the funds for it at this time.
I DID take 'Before" pictures of my arms and legs and I will be so happy to report any progress. If I can be a blessing to one person, like many of you have been for me, then I will do what it takes. Thank you all for your openness and support! God Bless you all!

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Some update. I've used shower gel/shampoo [Sea Buckthorn]. A lot. And also with Tea tree [some articles says tea tree oil is about super effective against mites]. Also 2 sort of Buckthorn soap from near shop. There was some effect, but not super strong and not everywhere. After 5 month no radical results, still havent't cured.

But i've grub microscope recently and really catch one [but just one] mite. Just now. It was about 4th attempt [i've pop some bumps and also scrab face with knife blade with olive oil on blade] in a week. This sucker was even still alive (. That was after 3 failed attempts and i was about pack microscope to return it to friend of mine ), so I even can't really say from which part of body mite was really taken because i've not even remember actual places.

It was smth like this [my microscope was made in year 1982 and defenatly have no digital output )]. This is i think about 280x magnification. I've used this mode too to look at mite closer, but i've found it at 140x.
_ttp://w_w_w.gsdhelp.info/paras/dm1L.jpg

Looking back I cant really suggest one thing: BEFORE u use any Sea Buckthorn cosmetics get to you derma doctor with printed 1th page of this topic and some wiki page describes mite [google for images]. At least get microscope (60-100-200x) is relly enough, this thing's wide is about wide of joung hair, but it's almost transparent, only border of body and it's feets is visible fine. I've used 140x magnification [this was old bio microscope with 1400x at top magnification] when i've clearly detect mite.

U can really save a lot of time: when u use cosmetic and it's weak or smth. better be shure before u start threatment procedure. It's really depressing when u use a lot of soap, shampoo with no huge effect for a long time.Better be shure: i have mites, so no effect from soap, change it, etc. Aso i've read some info there are drugs agains mites [pills or smth].

So now I think that maybe i've used weak cosmetic [if you have demodex it's not really means demodex is reason u have KP, many peoples have it with no visible effect, but it's defenatly means yours Sea Buckthorn sometics sucks ))) ]. So i've desided to not use any soap next 3-4 week [but still wash with just water] and after that, get to my derma doctor with suggestion check if demodex is in enough [big] quantity and also if it is reason i have KP. I'm about 80% shure this will requre some deep research like skin biopsy. [Articles i've read tells about cut bumps and learn how many mites inside where they are, are they reason of hair root illnes, etc...]

why 3-4 wheek? - it's because 2 reasons: let them grow back a bit to help derma doctor learn about them, try get stronger soap for future fight , and also i've attacked KP from other side: There a lot of info that KP is because skin do not receives enough omega fats, vitamins, etc. I was really overweight guy this whinter and this august hope I will get aboit 38kg (about 30%) weight loss total: this should follow: better metabolism because sport workouts, decrease total skin dimension/size, and also more incoming total vitamins/minerals per 1kg of body weight.

Hope will give some reports in august/september.

Guys, don't even think about give up ).

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

I really want to try the Sea Buckthorn Treatment! But I have a few concerns..
Question for those of you who have tried this treatment: When your KP worsened after you started the treatment, did you get a lot of the bigger bumps on your face? And were they really noticable?

I've never had problems with acne, I don't ever recall even having one zit.
So I don't know how well I would do with big puss-filled bumps on my face!
I might not be able to handle it, since I'll be in school while (if I decide to) try this.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Sir Dunkles..WOW this is amazing information I have never come across before! I, like many others was told there is no "cure" or other ways to even improve this condition except for moisturizing (which does nothing for me) so coming across your page was such a relief. I didn't battle with this condition until about 4 years ago. My husband wonders if living in a warmer climate helped suppress it? Everything you said makes PERFECT sense and seeing your pictures helped a lot. I came across your page while doing a search under KP (because I wanted to see if others skin looked like mine). My back is out of control right now. I am definitely going try try these products and I will also be sure to take before and after shots to post. I can't thank you enough!
