Does anyone know if there any other types of sea buckthorn soap?
So far I think this treatment may look promising... Orange Mango |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
O-M,
I don't have an answer, but two suggestions: 1. Use the Search function on the upper right of the page to find all posts about sea buckthorn soap. 2. Use Google or another search engine to learn what other sbt soaps are available. I hope this helps you. kebod

My treatment: Oil pulling daily; candida diet (minimum of carbs, no sugars); omega-3 from canned salmon and sardines; sun exposure 10-15 minutes, 3 days a week, without sunblock; program to strengthen immune system; probiotic supplements; lots of water; moderate daily exercise; exfoliation with epsom salts and sugar several times a week. KP reduced 99%. If I go "off diet" -- grains, sugars, etc. -- or stop oil pulling, KP returns. |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Here's my update to my buckthorn treatment so far:
I am currently taking the following buckthorn: 0mega7 capsules, welda buckthorn oil, aubrey soap, facedoctor shampoo and facedoctor soap. I have cancelled the juice and lotion so never had the delights of trying it. It's been two weeks now. I haven't really seen much improvement in my KP or it just too early to notice anything as I'm scanning my skin crazily after every shower. I have gotten a couple of random large acne like spots on my arm, bum, back and small little ones on my forehead which disappear quickly after a day because these places spots never survive for some reason so I guess I am the fortunate few. I have had no major outbreaks of such so I guess that put me in the generally quite hygienic category then :-) My conclusion: I think this buckthorn is working in killing mites as I think the acnes are the little dead ones entomb inside my skin waiting for my skin to spit it out. Gross as it may sound but it is said that 98% of the population have these mites living somewhere on everyone skin. So I'm glad in a way I'm being disinfecting by the treatment thus this far. The buckthorn oil I think is probably a waste of time so when that run out I'm not going be buying another one. I've found a new buckthorn soap that got Dead Sea water minerals, aloe Vera, tea tree oil, antioxidant vitamins such as A, C, E and K, essential fatty oils. Seems like all the ingredients in combating KP. It actually talks highly of getting rid of KP so have ordered this today so can't wait to try it. By the way, I think my back is looking good but because I am scanning it after every shower improvements generally appear less obvious to me if you know what i mean. Orange-Mango |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Hi all,
I suffer from KP and am excited to learn about this seabuckthorn treatment. I just bought Aubrey Organics' seabuckthorn soap and body lotion - hopefully they will work to blast the mites out of my skin. I got them from this online company called iherb. I'm so happy that they ship worldwide and the price is not bad either. I figured since we're going to be buying lots of seabuckthorn products, can we compare prices? This is the price list from the website : ( Apparently, first time customers can save $5 if they use a referral code from an existing customer. Feel free to use mine, HEN293 if you want to try ordering from them ). 1. Pure Fruit Technologies, Seabuck-7, 33.8fl (1 liter ) - $22.95 2. Face Doctor Hair and Scalp Shampoo Doctor RX, 10 oz (300ml) - $22.30 3. Aubrey Organics, Seabuckthorn with Sandalwood Skin Care bar, 3.6oz - $5.01 4. Aubrey Organics, Seabuckthorn with Ester C, Hand and Body Lotion, 8 fl oz - $11.01 5. Weleda, Seabuckthorn Body Oil, 100ml - $11.52 If anyone is able to find better prices elsewhere, can they please post? Also, I've done some research and it seems that there are 2 types of s/thorn oil - the seed and the berry. The seed is supposed to be more effective at killing mites but I believe most of the products above are using the berry oil, because it's cheaper ( and the products are colored orange ). I found another online company, bluesagenaturals, which supposedly sells very pure s/buckthorn products but they are kind of expensive. Anyone tried their products before? Warm regards, Marlene |

Marlene - i think it won't be competitive to compare prices unless people are local to you. think of import charges.

While I'm on here posting, here are my latest updates regarding the buckthorn treatment. I can't really tell if this buckthorn is working or not as I still have the KP. I do notice the KP is less noticeable but I think this is partly because of the soap residue left on the skin which appears to camouflage the colouring because at night when I apply a special cream it tends to soak away the buckthorn soap residue and exposes the vivid colours of the KP so it leaves me feeling all vulnerable again. So far I'm been using the buckthorn I think - 1.5 months I don't know. If you track back to the date when I post about starting buckthorn you can calculate the correct length. So what do I think about the buckthorn at this point so far? So far the trial period has not been impressive and it not achieved the results I have expected which is to be gone. Here what I'm currently using: I'm using the shampoo and soap. I have stopped taking the capsules as I don't think it help much and it kinda expensive and taste yucky and bothersome to take. I do notice my lungs felt quite sensitive after a while but and I've also been under the weather lately because I caught a cough off someone and that my other reason for stopped taking it. At the moment I’m using a mechanical exfoliator glove which I brought early in March. I think the gloves really help as my skin feels really soft after scrubbing. I get the same results when I was using the epsom salt because of its brittle and sandy feel when applying it as a scrub. So if I can achieve the same results as using a glove then the reason for smoother and softer skin is because of the brittle sandy affect achieved by scrubbing I guess. If this is correct, I would choose just using something natural just like the glove instead of the salt chemical but I have only used the epsom salt for two days but I'm leaning towards just using the glove. Now, the reason I use the glove is I believe our skin tissue may not have the might to slog off dead skin cells so it would only be natural for one self to aid it by manually and diligently and indulgingly scrubbing it off, and taking your time and enjoying the hot steamy sessions very slowly. My conclusion with buckthorn: Since using the buckthorn I have been getting more bumps or boil like spots but I'm now at the stage of not getting any. (When I say more bumps I don't mean lots. When one has one bump to me it considered too many on a bump-less skin). I think they have all gone and some that are left are clearing up. I no longer get new out break of spots so I think if I do have demodex then it doing it job. I think it better to use the buckthorn to rid the demodex because if you do have it, it would improve your skin condition in the long term and allow one self to focus on actual KP condition rather than KP conditioned caused by demodex. Know what I mean? I'm still doing the buckthorn routine as it quite inexpensive and will be continuing this until four months has lapsed to see the true outcome. Oh, one other thing, since using the buckthorn soap for the face my skin tone on the face doesn't look or feel as naturally vibrant when I was using one of my natural facial wash. I'm tempted to go back to my favourite facial wash but since this is a trial of the buckthorn I guess I can halt it for now. Orange-Mango |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
OMG! Thank you so much for taking the time to give us the details of your experience. You have given me, as well as many others, I'm sure, hope. Currently, I am trying other methods like oil pulling and drinking organic apple cider vinegar. I've just recently started, which means I bought a whole lot of products-like shampoo and lotion. Therefore, I will continue using this method until I run out. I think you did a great job researching!! It is incredible how many of us have experienced the same curiousity and that we don't give up! I hope to see new pictures soon. When I read all your symptoms my jaw dropped. For a moment, it seemed I was reading something I wrote. Pesky mites! Also, I thought about moving up north (thought it would help my KP!). Anyway, thanks again and good luck!
BTW I was happy to find out you are a model! Thats great...some of us lack the self-confidence. |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Hi
I am from the U.K and my KP has become much worse since pregnancy, so I have started the sea buckthorn treatment 3 days ago. I take the Pharma Nord Sea Buckthorn supplements, wash with Weleda shower gel and Handmade Norfolk Sea Buckthorn oil soap, apply Weleda lotion and also a coconut oil, and use Lavera Apple milk shampoo (has sea buckthorn extract), so fingers crossed, I will let you know if I see any improvement. I have included the brand names not to endorsed them (as I don't know how effective thay are yet) but as info, it took me a while to find sea buckthorn products so hopefully it may save you some time! I am also takin 15mg Zinc and 2 teaspoons of flaxseed oil daily (yes this is costing me a small fortune) wish me luck! |

the buckthorn soap can be easily obtain from many online stores in uk so it not really that hard to find. hmm.. if you’re pregnant you should just be relaxing and eating whole foods as this is the most natural and healthiest choice. i think when a women is going through pregnancy a lot of chemical changes take place so i wouldn't be surprise if your skin condition deteriorates at this stage. anyway, generally you shouldn't be popping pills really and just eat whole foods instead otherwise your unborn might turn into superman (looking the other way). i assume you and your partner know best for your unborn so good luck. Orange-Mango ignore unborn stuff it appears toni already gave birth from her other post. Last edited by orange-mango; 03-27-2009 at 03:39 PM.. |

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide
Toni,
Are you pregnant now? If so, avoid ingesting sea buckthorn. There is no clinical data saying it is safe during pregancy. I don't know about using it topically during pregnancy Check with your doctor about taking zinc. Levels not above 15 mg. a day are probably safe, but we aren't doctors here, and don't want to give the advice that a doctor should give instead. The internet says not to take flaxseed oil during pregnancy, to get it from food instead, like canned salmon and fresh walnuts. You don't sound like a pill popper to me, , but it's always best to consult your doctor, if you are pregnant, about taking supplements.kebod
