Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

I'm on day 3 so far... It smells like normal soap IMO but it lathers good.
I am using an exfoliating glove that is rough as sandpaper but I can handle it. Should I scrub as hard as possible with the soap?

No ! You shouldn't be aggressive to your skin, to prevent the hydrolipic film from altering. (note that oils, lotions, and so on and so forth, do NOT restore this film, but try to imitate it)

Actually, you should only scrub your skin occasionnally, for example once a week.
Scrubbing like mad won't help KP disappear, but it is necessary to scrub once in a while to get rid of dead skin.
However I recommend a soft scrub, if your glove hurts you, then get another one.

I wouldn't scrub too hard. For me, I do scrub every time I use it (which is most days), but I used to not exfoliate much and so I think there was a build-up and I think my skin needs extra exfoliating anyway compared to normal people. I scrub for about a minute on each arm but not too hard; occaisionally I'll scrub too hard and it will pull off a scab (which luckily I don't have so many of anymore) but I think I'm getting better at judging the level of exfoliation right. Basically, if it hurts - stop.

that's what i would do.

It's been a few days later with the drink, and now, i think it's starting to get worse. it was close to clear after about 3 days, now it's no where near that.

they grow mainly on the coast in the sand dunes only noticed them after watching a program on ancient survival food by a bushcraft specialist called Ray Mears .On one of my walks on the beach noticed they grow really abundantly around here in the shelterd areas of sand dune out of the wind.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hi everyone, I've been trying seabuckthorn weleda bodylotion and soap and tried the drink for like a week and a half. The lotion and soap i've been using for 3 weeks. So far no breakout but i do think something is changing. My skin feels softer more often en the bumps look diffrent, smaller but after I showerd it seems like there are far more. I'm confused I really have ups and downs with my skin. Also my hair has been shedding (falling out) more and I have little white things in my hair. English is not my motherlanguage so I hope that i say things correct. anyone recognize this?? I also have the feeling there are more hairs on my upperlegs..is this a sign of healing?

the redness has its up's and downs..one day it looks better than the other day..I feel something is changing though..lets hope for the best

I find mine really goes up and down too. At first I was reluctant to post about my good results because they would look great one day and then terrible the next.

I've been trying to work out what changes it for me and I think it may be to do with circulation, temperature and moisture. I know after I've walked back to my flat (up a hill) my KP looks quite red but it makes the clear patches where I don't have it now stand out more. I rub my arms in the shower with the soap so maybe it irritates them or maybe it just makes my heart beat faster so they look worse. When I'm cold it looks bad but I think this is because the skin goes goose-bumpy so any clogged pores become obvious.

Well, I don't mind if they look bad occaisionally and they are still improving (they looked almost normal this morning).

Maybe they are keratin plugs? The condition is caused by keratin plugging the hair follicles so it would make sense.

It could be. If your hair follicles are filled with keratin, often the hairs cannot get out. So it would makes sense that if you had fewer plugged follicles, more hair might be visible.

I'm not an expert so my answers are just guesses. Good luck with your treatment

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

I measure how longs it's been by how many boxes of capsules I've taken. So far, I've had 5 and half weeks of capsules but sometimes I forget to take them so it might actually have been about 7 weeks.
I don't know if I've had more hair because I shave my arms and legs. I've started shaving my arms to make it easier to tell whether the KP is looking good or not. It's a bit strange to shave the tops of your arms but I don't think people notice.. or at least I hope they don't!
I definitely know though that I have had hairs trapped because sometimes when I used to pick the bumps on my arms a thin coiled-up hair would come out. I've also had really bad ingrown hairs on my lower legs previously but I think they are getting better.
I did notice some white bits come out when I put coconut oil on my arms and rubbed them after a shower and I think they were tiny bits of keratin but I haven't had any come out without me rubbing my arms a lot.
Somebody else mentioned clear patches in a post so I think maybe that is how the treatment works. At first I thought it was just a random clear patch but now I think it is because of the SB. Mine haven't got noticeable bigger in a while but the bumps on my arms have gotten a lot smaller (they used to be the size of pimples, now they are like blackheads) so I'm very happy.

Re: The Sea Buckthorn Treatment Guide

Hi everyone. Let's see where should I start. I first ordered the capsules, didn't see a difference, ordered the drink and capsules, didn't see too much difference, ordered the shampoo conditioner and soap and noticed my kp spreading. It is covering my forearm on the right arm only and I noticed I have a few on my chest now. My legs starting getting worse but then look rather clear now. Another weird thing is my 6yr old daughter started developing rough patches on the tops of her arms and immediately smoothed after using soap. I ran out of soap and her rough skin is back. That's all I got so far.
