worst case of KP treated naturally-Success story on page 76

I found this website about a year ago, and realized everyone is trying to solve KP topically like my dermatoligists have suggested for the last 20 years.

Creams , lotions, scrubs, exfoliants, microbermabrasion, laser hair removal, IPL treatments, you name it I've done it. I've spent countless hours and thousands of $$$$, and searching the net for advise, but most sites seem to have the exact same information.

Then I discovered my natural treatment for KP. (all sites say there is no cure)

I sought a naturopathic doctor in Oct/06 in Vancouver. She used to suffer from Kp and showed me her perfect smooth skin, and she advised me we could clear mine by testing for food sensitivities, and avoiding those foods for about 3 months OR until they cleared.

This test is called a "vega" test. It cost me $90.00, and I found out by the end of the test I was sensitive (NOT allergic) to 35 foods. For example I tested really bad for wheat, gluten, corn, milk, lactose, sugar, vinegar, red wine, red meat, tuna, crab/lobster, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, as well as a host of other foods, including some fruits and vegs and so on....etc...

So my challenge was to eat anything I wanted that I didn't test negative for. This seemed easy at first, but finding prepared foods without sugar and wheat and dairy and so on was impossible, so I had to make food at home and did not eat out or packaged foods for the last 4 months.

I feel I had the worst case of KP ever. It was from my ankles all the way to my neck, (not on face) and I haven't worn shorts or a short sleeved shirts in 20 years.

In two weeks I noticed a difference, and 4 months later, my skin is baby smoooooooooth, NO BUMPS!!!!!( i had really BAD bumps too, the ones on the back of my calfs and behind my knees felt huge and seemed to have been there years.)

Now I touch my skin all day and marvel and how smooth and radiant it looks. I do reccomend usual exfoliation when bathing, but normal stuff that the average human does, I like sugar scrub and I massage coconut oil on my skin before bed, it smells great and your skin will love you for it.

I took 2 retests which cost $ 45.00 each and every food has "cleared" except milk, lactose and corn, which my doc says I can still enjoy every once in a while.

Let me remind you this is NOT allergies at all, this is about your body having a frequency and food does too, and sometimes they don't match, and it manifests as ailments including skin conditions, especially KP.

It sounded strange to me as well, but I had nothing to lose, and really wanted to wear summer clothing this year, and not hide my body from boyfriends.

I wanted to post this sooner, but I wanted to make sure that this is not going to be false hope for other people, but real, true, lasting results, that you can do just by adjusting your diet for a few months.

In case any of you are wondering, I am now allowed to eat anything except milk, lactose and corn, so it wasn't that bad after all.

Other benefits were I lost 40lbs, my candidia yeast level went form a 24 out of 30 to a 4 out of 30, ( you starve yeast from sugar to kill it) my blood pressure went from 130 over 88, to 110 over 80, and my menstral period went from a living 5 day hell and a bottle of midol, to 3 days of whatever and no meds required.

I am so pleased I can share this will you all, and I hope this information will help some of you finally eliminate your KP naturally, my total investment for tests were $180.00. (not bad huh?)

By the way if you get tested and need some advise on what alternatives to foods you can eat, I will be happy to share my experiences and experiements with you. I can tell you I have discovered so many yummy foods, that I will never go back to the way I ate before.

Hi Baronster - thanks for sharing. Your results sound marvellous!

Just wondering -
what part do you think the coconut oil played a part in the KP going? i.e. did you use this from the start of your diet changes or did you only start using it once the KP started to go?.

The reason I ask is that several other people have mentioned the coconut (EVCO) helping also.

Thanks

I started using coconut oil on my skin about a month ago, as I have really dry skin, and I love the smell.

My skin is so grateful that I stopped using all the acid lotions, as my skin always seemed red and irritated, and stung quite a bit.

Now i massage the oil, and my skin looks fantantic, and never feels dry.

I also add a couple teaspoons of olive oil in my bath, and my skin loves that too.

I made a point of not doing any lotions or exfolients while doing my food restrictions so i could tell my progress, I only started 4 weeks ago, when my skin was basically clear. The sugar scrub takes care of old skin, and I just did a home microdermabrasion to give my skin a glow and make it really smooth, as I had years of built up skin to shed.

hope that helps.

Sounds really great! I did a test like that a few years ago, and I was a little sensitive to alot of foods. But the therapist said that it was so little that I shouldn´t pay attention to it...so I didn´t...But I really should have I guess. But here (in Sweden) it´s REALLY expensive to do this test. (About 400 dollars!) So I guess I have to save some money...

How was the test done? When I search after Vega-test here in Sweden it´s done by measuring energy in the body somehow...But I took a bloodsample and they searched for IGG-and IGE-reactions. Classic allergy gives an IGE-reaction and if you are "just" sensitive it gives an IGG-reaction.

Question for baronster

Did you just have bumps, or bumps AND red dots?

I really appreciate your story and advice, am looking into finding a naturopath near my home - have wanted to do that for a while. Thank you!

I had bumps AND horrible red dots.

The first time I remember having these red bumps were back in high school, when a girl in the changing room said I had chicken skin, and I said "What?" I looked down and noticed red bumps all over my legs.

That was the beginning of 21 years of total misery.

Over the years it spread over my sides of my stomach, my lower stomach, my butt, and my lower arms and shoulders, the most recent area was my chest.

so my skin is smooth and my red bumps are virtually gone. i bought some capri pants today and some short sleeved shirts and I was smiling like you wouldn't believe.

how vega test is done

My vega test was not a blood sample.

My test was comparing the frequency of food to the frequency in my body, I could hear when a food tested bad as it made a high pitched sound when she touched it to my right hand index finger, while I held a metal handle in my left hand.

The food is in a clear liquid form, in small vials.

I never heard of anything like this so I must admit it seemed very strange at the time, but I thought, what the hell it is worth a try, as nothing else worked for me.

I was telling my neighbour about this and she said she had ezcema and did the exact same thing I did, and she got the same amazing results. Her skin has cleared too.

Ok...Then I guess that it´s the same type of test here in Sweden. I have to research a bit more! I really think that this is something for me. Even though I am a nutrinional therapist and I have eaten "healthy" in diffrent ways for several years it still has done nearly nothing to my bumps and dots. But if I´m sensitive to things that are "supposed" to be healthy and I eat it every or almost every day...Well...There you have it...Ofcourse I will not get better then! I have known this for quite a while now,but the problem is to get believable testresults. There are different methods to find out if you are sensitive to different foods, but if you go to three different therapists you will probably get three diffrent results! Well...as I said: The Search Goes On...

this is not just about eating healthy, because I tested bad for things like spinach, which is supposed to be a super food, brocolli, potatoes, and tons of other vegs and fruits.

Interestingly enough I cheated and ate potatoes about 8 weeks into program, and I woke up the next morning with KP on my forehead and right hand, (which never happened before), after a week it cleared.

Most of the foods I tesed negative for are considered VERY healthy, so you would never figure this out on you own without a test. So it doesn't matter how healthy of foods you choose, but choose healthy ones that agree with your body only.

Just so I don't mislead anyone, an oustide practioner would come in and do the test for my doc, and she was fabulous, she has been doing for 10 years.

I originally found my doc on the internet, found her website, fully checked it out, felt comfortable and then made an appointment.

I picked at my KP

I feel the need to tell you that I picked at my KP for about 18 of the 21 years.

So bad that I took medication to stop. I got into the habit of using tweezers to pull out plugs, which would only make it worse. They would get more inflamed, and take months to heal. And then would I put the acid creams on , OUCH!!!!

so on top of bumps, red dots, I would have scabs/wounds all over my body.

It was very traumatic when I would date someone, as I had to become very creative hiding myself, and staying up most of the night awake terrified I would get found out.

I think I was the only one dreading nice weather, and praying for rain on long weekends.

I would start fights with boyfriends to avoid having to go anywhere that I would be expected to wear spring or summer clothing.

As I am typing this I can recall how it felt each summer to wear a long sleeved shirt and pants in a stifling hot office, with no air conditioning, and how bad I felt each day.

I am telling you all this because my KP for me, was a prision sentence, and to be free, is beyond explanation really.

baronster, your honesty is truly amazing. I can "hear" both the old pain and newfound excitement in what you write. So cool to see you've found healing!

Thanks once again for sharing so much info. I also got a lot of good info from your doctor's web site and am looking seriously for a naturopath in my area. Blessings to you!

Hi baronster, your post makes so much sense. I am convinced that our KP is the way our body responds to certain food. I have read posts in another forum where people have claimed their KP has cleared by avoid wheat completely. I never used to have KP until I started drinking 3 glasses of milk/day. Now, I have stopped drinking milk completely, but my KP still remains, because I guess we are all sensitive to a lot of other stuff ...

My question to you is whether or not your diet has simply stopped new bumps to appear or it alone cleared all your bumps. I'm also wondering why or how you stopped being sensitive to certain food after a while.

Thanks for sharing your story btw.

Depending on where you live, you might have a hard time finding one in your area that uses that device. It seems they are not very liked.

My skin completely healed of old bumps that have been there for years, and new bumps have not formed at all.

The red dots have completeley vanished everywhere on my body, except very faint light trace on my legs, not even noticeable. When I massage the coconut oil in my skin my legs look perfect.

I am not sure how the body seems to clear by avoiding that food, but it does. Some foods may remain forever negative, my doc thinks milk and lactose will always be negative for me. She also says that wheat is the other food that really aggrivates KP, but in some people might be other grains. It tested really bad for me, but it cleared on my last test.

The secret to making this work is really being strict with not cheating.

I'll give you an example, I tested bad for tuna, that was prety easy, just avoid tuna, but I tested bad for sugar, sugar is in everything, so this made eating a challenge for me, I had to make homemade food for the last 4 months.

Milk I found is in most commerical soups, gluten is in so many products, wheat is a lot of processed foods, and the list goes on.

Even though most of my foods have cleared I have decided to stick to eating homemade food 90% of the time, or I will go to a nice restuarant that prepares fresh food. I haven't eaten take out for 4 months and I don't miss it at all.

I can't wait for this summer........... wearing a bathing suit and playing vollyball at the beach.
