definate improvements!

Just a quick note to say I am getting definate improvements of kp all over, on arms in particular. Right arm seems better than left, have read several others who have said this, wondered if it is something to do with circulation that right arm clears first. And that arms clear before bum and legs, seems to make sense for body to cleanse top down.Roughness is improving first, but reddness seems a bit less also.
Wouldn't it be great if it clears completely for everyone.Definately worth having a go. At least it does cost much and doesn't hurt at all so what have you got to lose?

Good for you!

Great news! I, too, was wondering if their is a circulation explanation for the right arm/left arm pattern of improvement. Please keep us posted so that others can learn if this healing is complete. I hope soon we can call you just "eden".

Yay!

Yesterday when I looked in the mirror, I thought, "oh my gosh my teeth are yellow!" But then at night my roommate was amazed at how white my teeth had become. So it looks like i'm really unobservent. I still have bumps....but part of me is hoping that they're less and I just haven't figured it out yet!

well my roomie wants to start swishing now =)

Results to date

I just did a quick count of the total posts on this oil pulling KP thread. Eight of you have written that you are seeing results ranging from "Good teeth results but not much (KP) improvement yet" to "dramatically smoother -- nothing has ever worked before." Add myself (99% improvement) and Molly's husband with complete healing, plus both of our sons showing improvement, and that totals 12 people who report improvement with KP by oil pulling.

Some of you we only heard from once, so we don't know if there was further improvement. I suspect some of you reading this may have started oil pulling, but are not posting results. Please let us hear from so that we will know if we are on to something that may really help with KP. This may be the very first time that a group of people (a small group, but still enough to show results) has tried oil pulling to end KP. We have encouraging results so far for a treatment that is inexpensive, doesn't require a doctor's visit and can be done in your own home at your own convenience. And we all have great smiles and white teeth now!

This is exciting to both Molly and I. Please let us hear updates from you. If this works, we can spread the word!

Good Morning Fellow Swishers!

I hope you are all doing well. I thought I would post an update on my oil pulling...

I am now on day 9. I have noticable improvement. Prior to beginning the pulling, I had a pretty severe rash on my chest, back and belly. It was red and itchy. I went to see the dermatologist and he told me he did not know the origin of the rash and prescribed some high dosage cortisone cream. I try my best to avoid chemicals in all areas of my life, especially stuff I put on my skin. I was reluctant to use the cream, however, I was suffering badly and felt I had no choice. I used it twice, it took the pain and itch away after the second application, so I stopped using it. The red swollen rash still remained. I was treating the rash with hemp balm (before the cream and after) and it did seem to be working a little (slowly). THEN I began oil pulling 3 days after using the prescribed cream. WHOA!!! Within 48 hours the rash was gone on all areas and honestly, you would never know I had a rash at all. The skin in the affected area was not even dry or uneven. It is actually in better condition than it has ever been. )

I also noticed within 24 hours that the redness on the backs of my arms had diminshed greatly. Within 48 hours, the redness was completely gone and the KP bumps were visibily smaller. Now after over a week, the bumps on my arms are almost completely gone. It was hard for me to judge at first because as soon as I would expose my skin, I would instantly get goose bumps! hah! When I am in the shower or snuggled nice and warm in bed, I can REALLY feel the difference. My chiropractor and massage therapist noticed yesterday without me even mentioning it...now that is a testimony in itself!! My thighs and butt are still quite bumpy, but not as red. Time...

After about a week of pulling, I noticed that the 'plugs' on my face are beginning to get a little larger. A couple of the smaller ones kind of just fell off my face (yay) and a few others are looking like blind zits (oh no!)! I am praying that is a sign of healing!! Hopefully the toxins will just push their way out of the pores and I will be plug free soon!

Slowly I am seeing improvement in my dry cracked heals as well. Anybody who has them knows how hard they are to 'heal'. Nearly impossible. With winter coming on, I am very excited about a possible reprieve from the endless moisturizing routine!!

Overall, my skin feels softer, more hydrated, not as dry, cracked or peeling, some of the blotchiness is evening out too.

I am a believer!

I feel I must add: I also began taking (orally) Udos 3-6-9 Oil Blend this past Tuesday after hearing him give a lecture on Fats and Oil. What a knowlegable and fascinating person. I am learning so many wondeful benefits of oils!!

Oh and also...I DID get my hubby to start swishing!!!! He is faithfully swishing (except this morning because he was in a rush). He is having some difficulty with his gag reflex, but is sticking with it! The pulling seems to be bringing A LOT of excess mucus up. Which I feel is probably really good as he is a smoker and this is possibly another way it is cleansing him. He is also noticing a difference in the appearance of his tongue (he has a history of having a build up on his tongue and can't brush it or s****e it b/c of his hyper sensitive gag reflex).

I *think* I am beginning to notice my teeth becoming a bit whiter after I absent mindedly kept swishing for 50 minutes three days ago. I was online researching and checking emails etc and just got lost in cyberspace. Next thing I know my hubby gets up and I look at the clock...50 minutes had gone by so quickly. When I brushed my teeth after that I swore I could see a difference. I was kind of freaked out about having all those toxins in my mouth that long though.

Anyway...thanks to you all for your input and updates! Keep it coming! I will updat again soon!

PS: We are both using Sesame Oil with a drop of Oregano. We follow the pull with warm salt water gargle.

Happy Swishing to you all!!

also...in response to DeeDee's question about cooking with oil:

This information is from Fats that Heal, Fats That Kill, by Udo Erasmus:

Oils least damaged by high temperatures and oxygen include:

In small quantities only (less than one tablespoon)

Butter
tropical fats:
High oleic sunflower (not regular sunflower oil);
High oleic Safflower Oil (not regular safflower oil);
Peanut oil;
Sesame oi;
Olive oil.

In that order of preference. These oils are EFA-poor (essential fatty acid), and produce the lowest amount of toxic molecules when heated.

Frying and deep frying destroys ALL oils and can not be recommened for health. If you must fry, used refined oils that contain the lowest amount of EFAs, the greatest amount of SaFAs (saturated fatty acids) and MUFAs (monounsaturated fatty acids) and use sulphur rich garlic and onions in frying to minimize free radical damage.

Smile very encouraging news

Sunshine Girl,
You are number 13 with good results. Thanks for the great post. I know from my own experience that oil pulling can do so much more, in addition to clearing up KP. It seems to have very good results with various skin conditions, as you discovered. Keep us posted on your bump improvements.
Also, thank you for your last post with the information on qualities of differerent oils. I wonder what it would be like to pull with melted butter...hmmm....I may have to try this.

SiennaNoventa (cool name),
I hope you soon see a bump reduction. Keep us posted, as well.

Everybody else,
Please keep posting so we can keep tracking the results. This is the only way we will find out if this makes a difference. A few of you have asked if OP can make a difference with KPRF and UA. I did not have experience with either of these, so can't answer. If you do have one or the other, and are pulling, let us know. Thank you to all of you for joining in this oil pulling effort and for keeping up with communications. Molly and I are rooting for all of you.

Hi..just wondering I have tried oil pulling with olive oil..but I just can't manage to go for longer than 2 minutes..my mouth gets tired..because the oil get's pretty thick..I'm thinking of changing to sesame oil..do I buy the toasted or untoasted oil? And will it be easier to swish for longer..I can't believe it can be done for 50 minutes..how do you do it without getting tired?

Thanks for your help..I really want my KP to go

Hi Mimmz

Maybe you would like to try switching to sunflower oil, a very mild tasting oil. Find the oil that is most "comfortable" for you. If you get sesame (which I have never tried but it is highly recommeded) be sure to get untoasted. It should be light in color. Be warned that not all toasted sesame oil states on the container that it is toasted. I would suggest you go to a Whole Foods or Wild Oats and look for it.

I've never gone 50 minutes. My record is 35 min., when I got caught up in my emails. After a few minutes, the oil becomes very thin, the swishing movement (very slow and gentle) becomes second nature, and I hardly think that anything is in my mouth. Move the oil so slowly that it isn't tiring for your mouth.

Don't worry about doing it for 20 minutes if it doesn't feel right. Just do it for as long as you can (and it still feels OK), and gradually increase the time. My son started with just one teaspoon for 5 minutes (coconut oil) and gradually worked up to one tablespoon for 15 minutes. I never use more than 2 teaspoons, as that amount feels right in my mouth.

Please keep in touch with us -- you have a good support group right here.

I had the same problem with olive and coconut oil! In fact, I'd start gagging after a few seconds. So then I did sunflower oil....and it was sooo much easier. But I've switched to sesame seed oil (which is a bit more viscous) because other people seem to be having success with that.

Coconut oil

Where I live, it is too warm for the coconut oil to solidify. I think it solidifies around 74 degrees. I have two suggestions: gently warm it in a small dish over warm water, as Eden suggests, or put some in your mouth and the warmth of your mouth will melt it. I use it regularly on my face, very lightly. Also, it is my new deoderant. I do not know about eating 3 TB throughout the day, so can't offer any advice there, though I do know if is a very healthy oil to cook with.

I’ve had KP all my life, but my wife doesn’t have it. Our 5 year old daughter also has KP (thanks to my genes).

Question: If “Oil Pulling” is meant to cure KP by removing bad toxins from the body, how does this theory hold true with my daughter (ie. Mother with no KP, but she she was born with it)?

I have 100% extra virgin coconut oil and it's pasty... It's in a jar..... How can you swish with that? Did I get the wrong stuff? Also, I bought it to put on my face after a shower. Is this a good idea or not? And I heard to eat 3 tablespoons throughout the day. I may do that too, but I want to know what you guys/girls think? ANy advice is great... THanks.....
