Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Hi KPMAD,
I hope you are not using toasted sesame oil, the dark kind. Untoasted sesame oil has a very pleasant flavor (to me, anyway). You need to give oil pulling about 30 days to see if it will make a difference with your bumps. Meantime, expect whiter teeth, a fresher mouth and clearer sinuses. Please post again with your results. kebod |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
KPMAD, like Kebod said I really hope you're not using the toasted sesame oil.. I ended up making that mistake and I struggled to keep the oil in my mouth.
Didn't help that I hate the taste of nuts. Now I'm using extra virgin olive oil, and I've gotten used to it. :] Haven't been documenting any change lately..but one thing I noticed was that today I was tired but in a very pleasant and sleepy way. I slept well last night with exceptions of waking up due to pets jumping on and off my bed, closing my window, going pee, etc. Sounds funny to say that, but instead of arriving at school feeling like a dead log, I felt very pleasant and.. floaty I guess is the best word for it. I am usually tired everyday but I found that today it wasn't a "I didn't get the sleep I needed" it was the sort of "Ohh I could have slept another three or four hours.." tired feeling. I also found things required a lot less energy and I didn't struggle as much to stay focused in class. (Usually thats pretty hard for me). Anyways I'm definitely going to continue. This thread has reminded me to keep a closer eye on the changes that have happened to me so far with oil pulling.. and that will continue to occur. |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
hi, i've gotta re-start my oil pulling again. the cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil i am currently using is making it hard for me to keep in my mouth for more than 10 minutes. i've done it for a few days now, and realize that everytime the 'smell' of the oil im using hits my nose, i feel like gagging...and eventually i always did. so, i think im going to try it with sunflower oil soon.
the oil i used had what supposively was 'fruity flavor and smell' but it wasn't at all . which was very disappointing. oh well, i m going to use that oil as cooking oil now lol

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Endless Winter,
Good for you for staying with olive oil. Even though it has a stronger flavor, it is a very healthy oil to use for pulling. Amulet, It sounds like you are having a hard time with the smell of olive oil. "Fruity flavor" may be better for a vinaigrette. Sunflower is probably the mildest in flavor, so you will like it. DeathtoBumps, I first rinse my mouth with water, oil pull, then brush my teeth and rinse with warm salt water. So the answer is to brush your teeth after you oil pull, the thought being that brushing before will create micro abrasions in the mouth that will be susceptible to absorbing toxins from the mouth bacteria during pulling. Keep on pulling and posting, everybody! kebod |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Ok...day 5 and I actually lasted 15 mins without gagging lol....(usual is 10). I even got my little sister trying it and her KP is worse than mine so hopefully it works for her!!
The sesame oil I have says cold-pressed organic sesame oil...it doesnt say anything about being toasted or non-toasted so how do I know? Sorry if thats a stupid question lol...but the colour is a light yellow not dark...so presuming its non toasted? Lol...well...my arms abit smoother..but Im not sure if thats from the oil pulling or from the coconut oil I've been using on my arms after my shower....either way I like the difference ![]() |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
KPMAD,
Sounds like it is untoasted, since it is cold-pressed and light in color, so you have the right kind. You will get used to the feel of oil in your mouth. After over a year of OP, I don't even think about it anymore, but it only took about two weeks or less to get used to it. If you like the flavor of coconut oil, you may want to pull with it next. kebod |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Kebod I have a question about coconut oil.. virgin coconut oil usually comes as a semi-solid, doesn't it? where you have to heat it up in order for it to be a liquid..? Im not sure but I asked my mother if she would please pick me up some and she came back saying she wasn't sure what to get because it didn't exactly look like an oil.
What kind of coconut oil is best for oil pulling? What does it look like? I know where I can find it, im just concerened about getting the right oil.. i was debating about switching to coconut oil, as the flavour might be more pleasant and it is supposedly the 'best'. Just slightly confused, thats all! |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Hello All
I have been trying to follow this Oil Pulling thread and it seems very interesting, I am 23 year old girl with moderate KP on my arms since i can remember.. i used to have acne on my face but my the angel of my doc cured it with just two prescription gels, and my face is smooth as a baby n zit free for 6months+ now!, however when i mention the KP he just shrugged and said theres no cure theres nothing you can do So after reading some of these posts abt oil pulling i am going to try it and see if this will work for me..the only thing i find hard is that im not a morning person, so can you oil pull at anyother time of the day? or does it have to be specifically in the morning, thanks 4 ur input! Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
Hi TMar,
You can pull any time of the day, but it is recommended that you pull on an empty stomach. That is the only reason for doing it first thing in the morning. Any other time of the day is fine, as long as you haven't eaten for about 3 hours. I have tried it right before bed, and I was so energized, I couldn't get to sleep. Others don't have this problem and do it in the evening. Oil pulling may help with bumps and redness, but please give it 30 days to see if there is a difference. Post again and let us know. kebod |

I'm so proud of you guys
You all have no idea what benefits you are getting from this. It seems to really help with those bumps, and you really can't do it "wrong". There are few things you have to be cautious of (like toasted oil) but other than that it's so easy to do.
Someone posted the following on the Curezone forum I thought you'd all like to read: http://www.johcd.org/pdf/Effect_of_O...Gingivitis.pdf A real honest to goodness scientific study? The reason you don't see that yellowish tartar on your teeth anymore is that those bacteria that create their cities in your mouth are being expelled by oil. Amazing stuff really. I still believe that KP (even genetically driven) is some deficiency that is inherited. What kind of deficiency? I don't know but just perhaps its the essential fatty acids that every body needs. Oil yourself from the inside out and get rid of that horrible stuff in your mouth... Molly |

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling
I have been oil pulling for about a week now. I have been using cold pressed 100% extra virgin coconut oil. It is white and solid, but melts quickly in my mouth.
I just bought a new coconut oil and now that I get it home I am looking at it and it is 100% expeller pressed coconut oil. (it does not say anything about being virgin) Is this okay??????? Today was the first day I could actually do it for 20 minutes. My skin does feel a bit softer. Still have bumps and redness, but I feel like a may be noticing a slight difference. I am sticking with this at least for a soild month. Cant wait to see what happens. Thanks guys!!!! |
