Glad you liked it, Sassafras. With olive oil, it really is a great omega oil treat, but any good oil works. I've also made it with cinnamon and allspice. I think it 's something you can play around with, trying different ingredients. I've considered adding chocolate chips, but then it wouldn't be such a super good food anymore, though it would be tasty!
The oil pullers say, "Swish oil, wear oil, eat oil." Next I'll post a body lotion recipe so we can wear more oil. kebod |

Body Lotion Recipe
Since I made this lotion, I don't use anything else on my face or body. Put it on as lightly as you can, smoothing it in. It goes on more easily after a shower while the skin is still damp. Using this lotion has been part of my effort to remove chemicals from anything that I eat or put on my skin.
6 oz. liquid oil (I used almond) 3 oz. solid oil (coconut oil, shea butter and/or cocoa butter) (I used coconut oil) 1 oz. beeswax 9 oz. water (distilled water, floral water, herbal infusion, fruit juice, aloe gel, whatever you prefer, eventually with grapefruit seed extract as a natural preservative so that the cream doesn't spoil too rapidly) (I used distilled water) - put the oils and the beeswax in a cup and the cup in a pot with hot water at medium heat, stirring until everything dissolves. Try not to let the temp. go over 145 degrees. - as soon as the beeswax melts, remove the cup and let it cool down to body temperature, stirring every now and then - meanwhile put the 9 oz. water in a cup and the cup in the pot of hot water until it reaches body temperature - when everything is at body temperature pour the water into a blender, (here you can eventually add the grapefriut seed extract) - slowly and gradually pour the oil into the water while blending, and here the magic happens, all of a sudden the cream forms under your eyes. The process is called emulsification. - at this point, if you like, you can add essential oils, stirring them well but by hand This makes approximately 19 oz. of cream. I did not add essential oils, as the aroma of almond and coconut was so pleasant. I keep a small, 2 oz. jar of cream out for use, and the rest is kept in the fridge. kebod |

Whoops, I didn't mean to post this on "Activity past-time"
Coolrunning, perhaps the sesame oil made you want to gag because it is toasted? Or perhaps you have a healthy gag relex and you are not used to swishing oil in your mouth. You may want to try it gradually: use just a teaspoon of oil, instead of a tablespoon, and do it just for 5 minutes, instead of 20 mon. Then, as you get used to it, gradually increase the amount of oil and the length of time. Also, keep the oil in the front of your mouth, not in the back near your throat.
I use organic virgin coconut oil and cold-pressed avocado oil. Any good quality oil, preferably organic cold-pressed or expeller-pressed, will work for OP. Peanut, corn and canola oil are not recommended. If you use sesame oil, make sure it is untoasted. Please post again if you have any questions or comments. I hope this helps you. kebod |

Hi!
It,s been almost 6 weeks when I do my OP. I can see that my arms are smoother, however recently I ate a bar of chocolate and now I can see new red dots on my forearms. I think that my red dots on arms and legs are a bit lighter I used also a cream with urea, but now I use only coconut oil. Im not sure if this is right oil because it is only written: for baking and frying, and it doesnt taste as coconut... I have some problems with buying right coconut oil in my country. My husband's sister done OP for 3 month because she had problems with her stomach and now she says she can eat almost everything, because she doesnt feel any pain in it ![]() This weekend I start with dr Hulda Clark method concerning cleansing the liver. This method helped my father with eczema so I think it would be great for me with OP. And do u know what? I wear only skirts despite my red dots, I dont care anymore that they are so visible... ![]() |

hi !i am a 20-year -old girl .I hate the bumps on my legs and arms.I did the OP yesterday, and whatever i have got to stick to it !I am potimistic that one day i am gonna wear pretty skirts like other girls!
Kebod and Molly, you are such nice people! I will come here frequently and share my own situation and experience with all friends here.Hope that will be helpful for everyone suffering from KP. I bought a kind of sesame oil in supermarket. But i am not so clear whether it is unrefined, untoasted,or expeller pressed. But i will find the Right one in this week. I am ganna search for it in bigger market. And there is a point that I live in China, and people here don't use that kind of " unrefined,untoasted..." oil coz that don't taste good and don't have flavor. So it is gonna be a little bit difficult to find the Right oil. But i am sure i will find it !! PS: Is there anyone from China who can give me some advices? Thank you so much!! If you can find extra virgin organic coconut oil, that is the best. Otherwise, just use what you can get, even if it is not organic. If it doesn't taste or smell like coconut, it is probably RBD -- refined, bleached and deoderized. If there is a big city near you, it may have a health food store that carries organic oils. What country do you live in?
Coconut oil is very healthy for the skin, helping with all kinds of skin problems. To read more about it: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/coconut_oil.html Other oils are good for pulling/swishing also, like untoasted sesame and sunflower. Organic is always the best, if you can find it. I think it is a good idea you are doing a liver cleanse. After you finish it, oil pulling will help you keep a healthier liver. Did you know that it is important to do a parasite cleanse first, before a liver cleanse? For anyone else who wants to read about the Hulda Clark liver cleanse: http://www.drclark.net/en/cleanses_c...r_cleanses.php Eating chocolate always gives me a few more bumps. Too bad, because it tastes so good! Please post again and let us know if oil pulling continues to help with the KP and if you think the liver cleanse helped. Good luck with your cleanse. I hope you have a comfortable week-end. kebod |

If your sesame oil is dark colored and has a strong flavor, it probably is toasted. It is better to use another oil.
Are there health food stores in big cities in China? If so, they might have a cold-pressed or expeller-pressed oil. If you can't find any, even regular cooking oil is all right to use, since that would be better than not oil pulling at all. I hope this helps you, but you may have to do it for a month to see a difference. Please let us know what oil you find and if OP helps or not. Keep in touch, kebod |

Hi all,
It's been a while since I last posted. I have OP'd for 8 weeks now with coconut oil, and I haven't seen a difference. This is very discouraging. I just bought another supply of coconut oil, so I will finish it up and see where I stand. Maybe I need to change oil or try the test Baronster talked about. With my luck, I will be one of those that has to live with. tiger9415 |

Try a different kind of oil. I recommend sesame (untoasted). I think Baronster's food sensitivity test if worth investigating, but I hope you still continue with oil pulling. The two systems can work together and make the other more effective.
Look at your diet, look at everything that may be introducing chemicals to your body in body products, food, water, everything. Are you taking an omega oil supplement and/or eating foods high in omega oils? It all adds up. I wish we knew how oil pulling works. Our best guesses are that the nutients and omega fats in the oil are absorbed by the body, and that toxins are pulled out of the body, saving your skin the work and hassle of dealing with toxins. Thank you for posting, even if you had negative results. We need to hear both sides, good and bad. kebod |

Hello,kebod!
I come from China.I have keeped oil pulling for 24 days, the oil I used is general sesame and sonflower oil, because I can't buy the cold pressed oil.I tried sesame oil for 19 days, but I haven't seen any difference,so I started to try sunflower oil,I do OP twice one day.I expect to see KP disappeared strongly, even just a little! In fact I feel a little doubt about that OP can do something good to me for my eight years kp. However,I will continue, wait for the miracle! We try so hard, the end will be good? Regardless of what the result is ,we should smile, life is still beautiful, isn't it?^_^ Last edited by shine; 04-21-2007 at 10:41 AM.. |

TO shine
hey, shine ,i am also from China. I am afraid most of sesame oil in China is made by toasted sesame ,coz that produces flavor. So we 'd better try sunflower oil in stead. I am ganna buy sunflower oil.It seems “鲁花” has the cold-pressed sunflower oil,but i am not sure. I am gonna search for it. Happy to communicate with you! |

The link you provided sells a very good coconut oil made by Tropical Traditions. I haven't tried it myself, but others on the oil pulling forum use it.
It will be solid if your room temp. is below 74 deg. F. That isn't a problem. You can hold it in your mouth until it melts or warm it in a cup set in a pan of hot water. Coconut oil is so nutritious that some, myself included, eat a couple of teaspoons of it a day. I hope you have success with it. Please post again and let us know. kebod |
