I am on day 5 of my pulling and sadly I have not witnessed any changes..anywhere. I am pretty sure my teeth are the same color (just checked haha) and my arms have definantly not changed--which is really disheartening because I had high hopes for those who saw such quick results!

Things I have noticed though is my kprf flaring up for some reason. Mine is normally as soft as kprf can get, but for the past few days there have been a lot of dry/rough patches around my jaw line and higher up. They are really rough and red and no matter how much lotion I put on it. Does this happen to anyone else..and how in the heck do they go away??

Next I noticed my face kinda more broken out and red. I got my lovely ladie's time a few days ago so that could maybe attribute to it, but it normally doesn't. And my scalp has been exceedingly greasy no matter how many showers I take.

I am so sorry for my life story, but these things are irregular for me and of course the only thing I have to blame for them is the oil pulling--and I don't see how that could effect this?

Your KP will get worse when you first start oil pulling. It's a sign that it's working.

My face broke out alot, too. I think it's also part of the working thing. My face might just be going through the "working phase" and it's just more kp, I can hardly tell what's a blemish and what's rising skin around my hair folicles. I'm pretty sure it's a blemish, though.

Woain --I have about 4 bumps on each arm right now. I'm "coming down" from another chocolate chip cookie week. I only ate one cookie every other day. I thought that would be safe, but apparently not. I guess I'm just too sensitive to chocolate, for whatever reason. This was my second chocolate chip cookie experiment. My first experiment was two cookies every day. That was a mistake -- about 10 bumps on each arm and on each cheek (face, not butt).

I hope you try this. At the least, you'll have really white teeth and very healthy gums and mouth. At the best, you'll have less KP. And in between...all kinds of health benefits, but you have to try it to find out how it will help you.

Aside from my chocolate chip cookie bumps, my skin is really smooth. I don't consider myself to have KP anymore. I don't think of myself in that way anymore, I don't check the bumps daily. I am just so happy to have discovered oil pulling.

Molly has answered on the OP forum:

"I think one of the things Trapper said about braces is the fact that your teeth would be white on the exposed part causing a checkerboard type appearance when they are removed. I don't think he was worried about the metal."

So it sounds like it is a cosmetic issue, not really a dental issue. Ask your dentist, but don't be surprised if he doesn't know anything about OP.

If someone replies on the OP forum with a different answer, I'll let you know.

I use this Olay in shower body lotion and it makes my arms less red and less bumpy for some reason.

Yeah, I was only worried about the color of my teeth, too, not the metal. So now I know to stop oil pulling when I get my braces. Thanks.

Talking Progress

I Started Pulling On Feb 12th But Stop It On Saturday And Sunday Because I Went Out Of Town, So I Began Last Monday (19th) Without Interruptions.. The Only Change That I Noticed Is That My Arm Bumps Are Less Bulky, But Pretty Much The Same... My Legs Bumps Are Just As They Were Before Pulling.. I Never Ever Wanna Miss A Day... Last Night I Went To A Wedding And For Dessert They Were Offering A Delicious Chocolate Ice Cream In A Chocolate Base... And I Didn't Eat It!!! I'm So Proud Of My Self!!!!keep On Pulling You Guys!!!

Fabio, don't forget about us while you have your braces. I hope you come back to oil pulling.

MCSL, I know how hard it is to pass up a great chocolate desert. A few weeks ago, we were invited out to dinner and dessert was chocolate mousse cake with chocolate ice cream. I just excused myself from the table, and was glad not to have the extra bumps the following week.

I could never forget about you guys! I get an email telling me that a reply has been posted on this thread every day! I'm oil pulling right now. And my mouth hurts. And under my tounge feels weird. Every time I pull, under my tounge has this mild burning feeling.

Safflower. The reccomended oils aren't available to me, but sunflower oil just came into the health food store. It doesn't say refined or unrefined, it just says expeller pressed. Does that mean it's refined?
