You are a unique group
After 8 months on the other forum, it is becoming quite clear that Oil Pulling does much more than we realize. Because of this, and I think that Kebod will agree, we are not in the least worried that this could hurt you. Even if it doesn't work on the KP for everyone, at least the other health properties will be more than worth your time and effort.
In the Oil Pulling forum people come with all kinds of complaints, and testimonials. We have a very unique situation here. You are all working towards one goal. If this works for you, I can't even imagine all the people you could help. I feel so encourage watching you all share ideas and this common goal. Even though I don't have KP (only my husband...his is gone), the one thing that I noticed as an oil pulling side effect was my cracked and dry heels are completely healed. I put nothing on them...no creams. Now, how in the world could swishing oil around you mouth heal your heels, you might ask? I am not the only one that experienced this. So, in my experience, this does affect the skin. No doubt in my mind. Hang in there group. You are all doing great. Molly |

Oil Pulling for 2 weeks now.....
Well, I've been oil pullin for two weeks now... My teeth are whiter and my skin looks better some days, but my face is very dry with the keratonic plugs coming out of my pores... I'm going to stick with it though forever.... I have felt better all around... Hopefully, my skin gets better as far as the KP and drying.. It's only my face... Who know's.... I'm optimistic, b/c you have to be....
Also, I'm using AHA lotion 10% on my face at night and sometimes in the morning to help with the process..... The oil I'm using is 100% Expeller Pressed Sesame Oil made by Hain.... I got it from a Whole Foods..... Anyways, this is the right oil to use right? So, everyone, don't give up.. Let the KP be your motivation.. You want to get rid of it right? Then, keep at it..... This sounds very interesting. Pardon my ignorance, but where can I get Sesame and/or Coconut oil? Do they sell these at the local grocery store?

Where do you live?
If you live in the U.S., then you should go to Whole Foods or Wild Oats (or a health food store that sells oils).
If you get Sesame, make sure that it is untoasted. If you get Sunflower, make sure it is "expeller pressed" the same as cold pressed basically. You can also get Coconut Oil. But you will want to swallow and eat it...it tastes too good...LOL. I buy organic only, but that is my choice. If you don't have anything close by, you can always use Safflower oil. NEVER use Canola Oil. It is made from Rapeseed, which is incredibly toxic to humans. Peanut Oil is know to contain mold. Molly |

which oil
I suggest that you try sunflower oil first. It has the mildest taste. =) You'll find all of these oils at a "health food store."

well, I went to my local health food store and all they had was sesame oil (unrefined and expeller pressed). Would this work or should I look for cold pressed?

Yes, this is just fine. Excellent in fact. I think you will find that it has very little flavor.
Steven, if you get back to the health food store, check out the Oil of Oregano and the Tea Tree Oil (they are probably in the essential oils section). Add a drop or two of each to your Oil for pulling, and wow, you have the most powerful oral cleaning potion you can imagine. You should probably get used to the oil first though before you start adding anything. Remember to gargle with warm sea salt water after (to clean out the oil residue). Good luck! Let us know how you are doing. Molly |

Oh, today, my friend said to me that ' under your eyes look yellow and very dry? Your skin changing colors, it looks YELLOW' I felt terrible... I have the PLUGS coming out of my pores and with my face being so dry, the plugs coming out of my pores look yellow.. It's a real pain in the ass... So, I'm using the AHA lotion with 10% in it... It's been 5 weeks on and off, so will see. I'll do both.. Any advice will help... THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!! |

yellow plugs
I wish I could help you! Did the yellow plugs start comming out after you started oil pulling? If it did, maybe your pores are getting unclogged. And you'll have clean pores in a little while!

information on tea tree oil and oregano oil
I haven't checked this forum in a day or two, and I can't believe how many postings there have been! I'm glad Molly is also around to handle questions. This sub-forum is becoming a mini oil pulling forum, with, as Molly told us, a single goal of being rid of KP. I say "mini" because there already is an entire forum devoted to oil pulling:
http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=738 This is exciting, and maybe it will make a significant difference for many with KP. You are all breaking ground by giving oil pulling a try and your willingness to try it may encourage many others to give it a shot and have beautiful skin again. Molly asked me to post this info that I just sent to the Oil Pulling Forum, since she suggested the use of tea tree oil and oregano oil in a recent posting. From the Mayo Clinic: When used topically, tea tree oil is reported to be mildly irritating, and has been associated with the development of allergic contact dermatitis, which may limit its potential as a topical agent for some patients. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/tea-tree-oil/NS_patient-teatreeoil And this site gives the reason why: http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/f-w98/teatrees.html And finally, Some oils can cause sensitization or allergic reactions in some individuals. When using a new oil for the first time, do a skin patch on a small area of skin. Place a small amount of the diluted essential oil (never use essential oils undiluted on the skin) on the inside of your elbow and apply a bandage. Wait 24 hours to see if there is any form of reaction. Even if a particular essential oil is not known to cause irritation, this step should not be ignored. Even if an oil does not irritate you, it still can irritate someone else. It is important that you always keep that in mind. http://www.aromaweb.com/articles/safety.asp Tree tree oil has great benefits, but can cause dermatitis. Don't use it if you have eczema. I hope you understand I am not talking about food-grade oil used for oil pulling. The above information refers to essential oils. Good luck, everybody, and keep up the postings. Kebod |
