Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

I Started Oil Pulling 3 Days Ago. I Havent Had Much Change In Kp, But My Teeth Are White And Clean. I Have Severe Kp On My Legs And Moderate On Arm. I Can Get My Skin Smooth ,but The Red Dots Are A Problem. Has Anyone Had Success With Lightening Or Ridding These?

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

So I've been doing it for almost 2 weeks now, except for the last 2 days. I've noticed patches of bumps on my arm that are missing. My skin is incredibly smooth now and I love it. I'll try and do it in the morning AND in the evening now. The results will probably be way more better if I start doing 2 sessions per day.

I'll post back in 1-2 weeks, I hope all of you are having great results. =)

Thanks to kebod and Molly for such amazing help.

Thanks Sweet_Sacrifice for posting your results so far.

I'm swishing 5ml sunflower oil, in the morning for 30mins.
I'm gonna do it at the end of the day as well.
No results yet, apart from my mouth been fresher, teeth been whiter and tongue been pinker.

I took before pics anyway. am gonna take a pic every week. see if i can see a big difference between day 1 and day 28.

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

Khrissy,

Yes, OP can be done at night before bed, but for some, myself included, it can give you so much energy you can't fall asleep easily. Try it and see how you react. If I'm going out and will be up late, I use it as a pick-me-up byoil pulling before leaving the house, knowing it will help me stay awake. Also, you should give OP at least 30 days to see if it makes a difference with your skin.
Let us know how it affects you.

Xlala,

The best place to find a good quality oil is at a natural food store or health food store. If they don't carry any, ask them to order it for you. Please keep in touch and let us know if OP helps.

Krystal,

More people have reported success with bumps diminishing then with redness, but there have been a few reports saying the redness diminished. If you try OP, please let us know if you see a reduction in bumps and redness.

Sweet,

It's great to hear that the bumps are less. Do you have redness also, and is OP helping that? Please let us know.

well it's my 2nd day of oil pulling. no results yet. i think for overall help i'll fit it into my daily essential e.g. brushing my teeth etc.

i took a pic of my arms (worst affected area) and i'm gonna keep taking a pic every week, i'm using pure sunflower oil and my serving was 10ml the first day, but i dropped it down to 5ml as it was hard to swish with to much in.

when i spat the oil out after 30mins it was white and was frothy, lol. but i've read on the net that this is what it should be like.

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

DiscoPanty,

What a cool name.

Your hemp oil sounds fine to use for pulling. Molly (my advisor when I don't know an answer), says it is better for experienced pullers. If you are using it and doing fine, go for it. I have never tried it but would like to if I can find some to use. Please let us know any reactions or changes you notice.

BD,

Interestingly, since I started OP, I have almost no earwax. I don't have to clean my ears with q-tips anymore. I don't know what that is all about, but I like it.

Jly,

If your mouth still feels too full, you may want to try cutting back to 2 teaspoons, instead of 1 tablespoon. I use 2 teaspoons (I have a small mouth) and I still have great results. Just don't sneeze, cough or laugh with an overly full mouth. It can have a disastrous effect on your computer key board and screen.

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

Is there any difference in using sunflower oil instead of coconut oil/any other oil product? And is there one product that works better than the other?

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

ok this is off the topic of oil pulling but hopefully someone can help me out on this. i've beginning to take apple cider vinegar in hopes of helping to lessen my acne/kp. i know you're suppose to drink unfiltered, unpateurized (with mother) AVC, however i couldn't find it at my local whole foods. so i picked up the best avc they had which unfiltered, pateurized avc from a brand called 365 organic. does anyone know if this is safe to drink and are there any benefits from taking unfiltered, pateurized avc? it's organic but still pasteurized.... i know in earth clinic they prefer the avc with the mother and everything and they don't recommend to drink the "store brand" kind. any input is appreciated!

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

Bump,

I can't say that one oil is better than another. I do think that we each may react differently to different oils, so maybe try a couple and see what is best for you.

Misslala,

I've always read that unpasturized is better, but if you can't find it, pasteurized, organic would be the next best. It is safe to drink in the amounts recommended for unpasteurized ACV. I can'tspeak from experience, as I haven't taken it as a drink. I know it can also be splashed on -- diluted with water -- after a shower for skin health. Some have posted on this forum about using ACV topically to control KP. I don't know how successful it is.

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

It might be hard to find unpasteurized in a store. If you can find someone with a "mother" you might be able to make and keep your own. I'm going to try to put some of the mother from my bragg's into a container of cider that's room temp, then leave it with a cloth cover over the top and see if that will start it. there are directions on the web and other places for making your own acv but I've not tried any _yet_. - bd

Interesting!

That will be my next adventure, to try and make ACV...

I always try to make things at home so I can use good quality ingredients. Like when I make soaps, scrubs and cheese! yum

Of course I don't use cheese in my shower, LOL!

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

Andrea,

I don't think oil pulling will make your skin worse. I also don't know if it will help you. Sorry, but I'm just being honest. Oil pulling doesn't help everybody, something we have learned about all the other products and remedies here. What works for one doesn't work for all -- a strange thing about KP.

Instructions:

Put 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed or expeller-pressed oil (preferably organic) in your mouth when your stomach is empty. First thing in the morning is a good time. Slowly move the oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes. If you can't do it for 20 minutes, don't worry. Just do it for as long as you can and gradually increase the time.

After 20 minutes, spit out down the toilet or sink drain. (I spit in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage). Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with warm salt water. (Sea salt is best.)

Drink 1-2 glasses of water. Now your are ready to eat and drink anything else.

Recommended oils are sunflower, untoasted sesame, coconut and avocado.

If you are trying to become healthier by oil pulling, you should do what you can to support your health in other ways: eat a very clean, healthy diet; avoid fast food, transfats and sugar; eat good fats, like olive oil, coconut oil, salmon, walnuts, ground flax seeds; get moderate, daily exercise; drink plenty of water.

Our bodies are one system. If we ignore one part of our health, we are fooling ourselves if we think we won't suffer the consequences eventually.

I hope you try OP and if you do, and it helps, please let us know. Whatever you try, I hope you find something that works for you. Please keep in touch.

Re: Cured at last with oil pulling

Andrea,

If you try oil pulling, please give it 30 days to see results. BunnyDay says she saw better results after 60 days.

If oil pulling doesn't help, try something else. Stay hopeful that you will find something that works, because it is that hope that will motivate you to keep searching and trying.
