question
i have kp all over my legs and arms.
would it be safe to use the blemish spray all over them? i think i heard somewhere about some type of poisoning from using a certain type of acid too much or over too much of your body. so idk. please post back thanks! xoxo aylia |

Hi. I've just joined this today and it's great hearing about all these different products so I can try some. I've had KP since I was 10 and so far and I've used lots of creams but nothing has worked. I'm going to check out the Clinique counter this weekend!

Jiquile's method
I first realized I have KP a little over a month ago, I was given this cream to put on my upper arms, but it only made them feel thick and sticky.
I did an intensive search on the net and found this website. I read Jiquile's message and decided I have nothing to lose. I bought the 3 products at a superpharm (you know where there are cosmetic products) and I started the process 17 days ago. My upper arms never caught people's attention, to me they aren't considered too bad, but still, physically it bothered me, and wanted them smooth and less red. I have to say my upper arms are alot smoother than before, my b/f says they've become smoother. Just wanted to tell you guys that it is working for me, and hopefully by the end of November they'll be completely smooth, but I don't care if they won't be, because right now it's a smooth I've never really felt before on my upper arms and it feels great. I'll update you guys on how it's progressing. L. |

^ Yes, all the redness is gone.
Also, for the more *stubborn* red bumps, I find that sometimes the spray makes your skin go dry in patches. Just put some moisturising cream on it and then all the redness/bumps/dryness is gone and smooth skin is there in about 2 days ![]() |

to jiquile
hi jiquile. I wanted to know if you think a clinqiue anti blmiesh spot treatment gel or any of the other anti blemish prdoucts will work just like the spray. I can not find any of the sprays here in the US, only other types such as anti bmleish gel, concealer, etc.

3 month update
Hi all
After a couple months I can say that Jiquile's regimen works well. Here's my interpretation of it, what I think makes it successful: a gritty scrub, a rough buf puff, and a 2% salicylic acid treatment spray or "astringent" -- 2% salicylic acid is the active ingredient in the Clinique spray, according to the bottle. I've been using Clean and Clear's astringent with 2% salicylic acid (they have multiple strengths, multiple similar products, so check the back of bottle for %) and Neutrogena's Anti-Acne Body scrub. Both products are available at the drugstore and are affordable. My skin is now smooth, with only a very small fraction of the bumps I used to get. I think I was just letting the skin pile up on itself! Unfortunately, the old marks left from KP bumps are still there, but that is a question for another forum. I will have to get back to the hyperpigmentation forum to handle this problem, though I would welcome tips from you all too! ![]() |

eva your awsome, thanks for keeping us posted. I wanted to know though, because I have been looking for the clear and clean astrigent spray... and I can not find a spray. Can you let us know the exact product names that you used... and also your procedure. Like I said I tried looking for a clear and clean spray with salycic acid and I am not able to find anything. thank you in advance.

what I do
Hi there Swole00
The stuff I use is actually not a spray-- I couldn't find one either-- it's by Clean and Clear and it's called Deep Cleaning astringent. It's sort of a pink-orange color. On the back it says "2% salicylic acid", just like the Clinique product, but it costs much less and doesn't smell as nice. Same feel though-- not sticky. I just put some on my hand and rub it on. I tried puting it in my own spray bottle but that didn't work well. The other products I use are a scratchy Buf Puf, or something else like that, and a scrubbing product, as Jiquile recommends. My scrubbing product also has more salicylic acid in it, which I don't think is as important as having it in the astringent, since the scrub gets washed away in the shower. Also, I noticed that Jiquile uses a moisturizing scrub, while I don't. I never have a problem with dryness in the areas where I get the bumps, and my skin tolerates the salicylic acid well. My doctor also gave me a prescription for a product called Triluma which I hope will help with the scars from old bumps. I just dug up the prescription today and did some research on the product. I'm actually pretty excited now even though it had been sitting in my drawer for a month. It's main use is melasma, but doctors have also been prescribing it for scars, I found out. It should show results in 8 weeks. I will keep you all posted. |
