Question Getting rid of the redness completely.

Has anyone had any luck with eliminating the redness? I mean completely getting rid of it. My arms are no longer rough, and the redness is definitely improving, but I want it gone completely. I'm using salicylic acid during the day and glycolic acid at night, which is working fairly well for me, but I want to know if anyone has had their redness go away completely, or has had it under control for a significant amount of time. I'm desperate. Please help.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I tried tanning a while ago - I did about 5 sessions and it didn't do too much for me. Is the tanning supposed to get rid of the redness completely, or does it just camouflage it?

I'm in the Same Boat

I have the same exact problem. My bumps are pretty much gone (I use Amlactin 12% Moisturizing Lotion), but I have scars left. When I get cold my scars turn purple. It is very embarassing. My skin tone is very fair.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

The glycolic acid I was using was starting to really dry out my skin, so about a week ago I started using a 10% urea moisturiser instead. Now, looking at my arms the redness is 95% gone. I have never seen such fast and promising results. I really hope this continues to work for me, because it seems whenever I find something that starts working it only lasts a few weeks before my skin builds up a resistance to it and comes back worse than before. Has anyone here been using urea for a long time with ongoing results? I am so happy with the results I have after only one week, I just want to know if it's going to last, or if I should start looking for another solution.

Where did you buy the 10% urea moisturizer? I have a wedding to go to next week and I have to wear a sleeveless dress... EEKK! I'm looking for some immediate results.

Thanks!

I got mine from the pharmacy. I live in Australia, and the product offering here is fairly minimal due to our very strict government regulations on health related products. I'm sure you'll be able to find a moisturiser with urea in it at any pharmacy/drug store in most countries. The one I use is called Nutraplus cream. I don't think that the brand is available outside Australia as it is made locally, but I'm sure you will be able to find a similar product in your own countries. Good luck. Hopefully it works for you as well as it has for me.

I have Eucerin, which is a Urea lotion. Anyone had results with this?

Gross but true fact: Urea is extracted from urine (Horse urine I believe, but it's in human's too)

if anyone finds out....

Will you please email me? I have redness that is just horrid. The bumps are gone, but ack, the red. I am so busy with my business and with my 2 year old and several beading boards I belong to that I don't have a lot of time to be on more boards but holy cow am I desperate for an answer to the REDNESS! I asked someone about Mederma and they said it didn't work. I'm thinking about going to a dermatologist and seeing what they say, but I hate going to yet another doctor.

Urea is present in urine, but I highly doubt they extract it from this source for medicidinal use. I don't think it wouldn't pass any health regulations if that were the case. It wouldn't be the best source anyway. There would be far more effective ways of sourcing this ingredient in the large amounts required for cosmetic and mecidinal uses.

Ya don't they use deer urine to make aspirin? i think I've heard that before. So yes they do use urine in medication, although I'm sure they sterilize it and all that. LOL they're not just gonna bottle some urine and sell it to us. It is kinda gross to think about though haha.

Eucerin's Redness Relief Lotion (also the cleanser) is mentioned frequently on this site for correcting redness with continued use and has helped my daughter alot. I can find it at most drugstores.

Question Eucerin Redness Relief

I haven't been able to fund the Eucerin Redness Relief anywhere. I have found the regular Eucerin lotion at Shopper's Drug Mart, but nothing else. Are there any Canadians out there who could tell me where to find this stuff?

If I body brush my arms using long slow strokes the redness fades for a few hours (this is why I'm convinced the redness is a circulatory thing).
