Question Can someone identify this as KP?

I've had this little bumps on my thighs since I was twelve. At first, my family and I suspected that it could be ingrown hairs from shaving, so I stopped shaving my thighs as frequently. The ceasing of shaving didn't make too much of difference. I started wearing shorts more in 10th grade and I saw improvement! I also would use mosturizers which also seemed to help make these mystery pimples vanish gradually. So I was bump-free for about 6 months! Earlier this week while I was visiting my friend in San Francisco, it was much colder than it is here in Florida and, me being very skinny, I had to wear pants the whole time. I undressed one night to get into my pajamas, and I saw that the bumps had made a heck of a comeback. It was like my thighs had an outbreak of acne or something. Little red bumps covered my thighs and some parts of my calfs. It's quite limiting for me as a native Floridian to minimize my bathing suit and short-wearing time! They do seem to improve when I wear shorts consistently or during the summertime weather. I do also notice that I have some these bumps on the back of my arms and I first noticed those in first grade. I don't want to have to use expensive creams to treat this, so, if you do believe that is indeed keratosis pilaris, could you offer some homeopathic remedies? Thanks a whole lot in advance!

Re: Can someone identify this as KP?

that looks exactly like the KP I have on my upper arms, so I'm guessing you have KP as well.

Does anybody have an effective treatment for KP? I can't seem to make mine any better....I occasionally use AmLactin, though!

Re: Can someone identify this as KP?

Your case of KP doesn't seem too bad,
so thats good (:

If you don't want to use expensive creams for treatment,
These are some ways :

- You can try to tan yourself more.
- Buy cream which include salicylic acid
- Exfoliate everyday with a scrub or loofah or buff-puff
- Don't pick on the KP bumps
- Put AHA lotions on it
- Use glycolic acid cream
- Use lactic acid cream
- Apply coconut oil on it

I hope some of the suggestions have helped xD
