New to forum and wondering about treatments
Hi, Im new to the forum and I suffer KP on my legs, forearms, and tops of my thighs. Im a 14 year old girl and i really hate having this.
I've had KP since i was about 9 years old but it never used to bother me. That was until i entered high school and it got a whole lot worse. Earlier this year i visited my doctor about this problem. At first i was subscribed an anti-topical cream. This made no apparent change. I went back to the doctor and was then subscribed Elocon. This would make it appear better for about 30 minutes after application. I googled my symptoms and discovered that what i had was KP. Then i found this website and joined. Today i found out about a treatment method using a sea salt scrub with essential oils. i have used this once. I am located in Australia and purchased this at priceline. Just wondering if anyone has used a similar product? If so, is the skin supposed to look worse straight after the scrub? and how long before i should see any results? i really wanna get rid of this ****py condition. It makes me really self concious ![]() Thanks xx Also i would just like to say how thankful i am finding this website. ![]() |

Re: New to forum and wondering about treatments
Smoshed,
Welcome to the KP Forum! While I have not tried this specific treatment of salt scrub and essential oil, I have read many posts on this forum where others experienced the skin condition becoming worse after beginning a treatment, and then getting better. Also, many here believe a treatment should be continued for at least 30 days to see if there is improvement or not. Don't give up yet! Perhaps you are scrubbing to hard? Try doing it with less pressure and see if that helps. Keep in touch. We are always here to respond. kebod |

Re: New to forum and wondering about treatments
You will need to experiment to see if daily use is too abrasive. If so, cut back to 2 or 3 times a week. Find the frequency and pressure of scrubbing that is comfortable for you.
