Question noob with KP.

hello everyone. i'm 15 years old, and have had KP ever since the third grade.
i pretty much have it on both of my upper arms, worse on the left side, and recently, it's gotten worse and spread to the rest of my arms.

i went to the doctor about it a couple years ago, and was just told "it's dry skin. just use cold cream." its pretty obivious it's not dry skin, and i've read about KP and it has the symptons.

it's so embarassing at school having people ask why arms are so red all the time, and i always feel like people think i'm a gross person for having my arms always broken out.

what are some good over the counter, not that expensive stuff that'll make the redness go away? i kind of have a tan now, and i've been using cold cream on it, but it'll get better for a little while, then get worse again.

i can try getting some pictures of it tomorrow. =D

thanks. : D

Re: noob with KP.

xx,

Welcome to the KP Forum. It is hard to recommend one product for you, as there are so many different products that have helped. If you read the two sticky threads, "Thread Devoted to What Works for you" and "Commercial Products That Have Worked", you will find many success stories and hopefully, you will be able to have your own success.

Getting rid of bumps and redness does not happen overnight. It will take patience on your part. Also, what works for one person may not help another. I think this may be because there are different causes, therefore, different remedies.

Please post again and let us know if you find something that helps. I'm sure you will.

Re: noob with KP.

Aveeno is great for sensitive skin. I love it, really helps with the dryness. Can't really say it helps all that much with my KP to be entirely honest, but it's a good lotion in general. Another brand I found to somewhat help treat KP is Eucerin products, however it works for some and not others. You might want to give it a shot...
