My prom is in a week, and i will wear a dress that completely shows my arms ( they're kinda awful)... Anyway, I'm so freakin out and i don't know what to do
If anyone went to a prom with Kp, u can share ur experience and help me with solutions ![]() i just wish that my prom won't be a nightmare... thanks (i forgot to tell that i have brown skin, so I don't think that tanning will be a good solution for me..) |

Re: Anyone went to prom with KP?
Same issue here...but I definitely went to some interesting lengths to solve it. Since I really don't have the resources to get the expensive creams or oils, i asked my theatre director if i could borrow stage makeup - and I did. I smeared that sutff on my arms and legs, and it really just looked like nice, fresh-from-the-spray-tan-place clear.
sure, the bumps were still THERE, but you couldn't see them, and perception is reality ;] |

Hey, I am 16 yr old girl and I have the same problem too. I am a cheerleader and the uniforms arent exactly KP friendly lol. I dont have a solution for you all i can say is i dont let my KP take control of what I wear. When I go to dances I wear whatever length or cut of dress I like. A cute dress and shoes will direct the attention else where =]]. So dont let KP keep you down ... i also use a bit of make up on my arms for games and dances...Hope you have a great time!!

Re: Anyone went to prom with KP?
This is what Im most scared about,, I am only 16 so I have awhile to go before prom comes up..Im hoping to cure it before prom or I might not go at all ._.;; then I'd feel horrible since it's just a night to have fun with friends haha. But still you want to look perfect. =(
I suggest just finding a nice dress that works to your avantage. ^^ the dress might even stand up among the big shiny puffy dresses haha^^ |

I am going to tell you this from my personal experience. I am 16 just like most of yall. I went to the Military Ball with my boyfriend here a few months ago . and yes i have kp on my arms, and i wore a dress that showed my arms. I was worried sick about it. I even emailed one of the girls on here talking about helping me cure it. but i found nothing that worked fast. So i got ready for the ball and went KP and all
,, No one even noticed. We were all dancing and having a good time. Taking pictures and everything teenagers do at dances. Trust me if you dont point at your arms and be like HEYYY I HATE MY ARMS I HAVE KERATOSIS PILARIS you will be okay. no one will notice ,,you will be having such a good time it wont matter whats wrong with your arms everyone has something on their body they dont like . Just be proud of yourself and thats all that matters. and BTW my boyfriend loves my arms and about a cure,,, right now i am using Jergens Skin Smoothing Lotion and Noxema Microbead Cleanser. Use it two nights a week and it should start to clear up. It only costs about 11 dollars. I have only used it once and my arms seem alot smoother than they did a couple of days ago. hope this helps Kameron |

Re: Anyone went to prom with KP?
Has anything worked well for you in the past? My advice is to not overload your arms with treatments because that will propbably make them worse! Just choose a treatment (I use Eucerin 10% lotion which is great, so you could try it if you haven't already) and use it continuously and most importantly.---
Stop Worrying!! I bet no-one will even notice =D |

Re: Anyone went to prom with KP?
I'm currently 19 and went to prom twice with KP. Let me say that nothing is going to give you a "quick fix" unfortunately. Like most other people said however, exfoliate (don't do it too roughly though or that can actually make it look worse), moisturize right after you towel yourself off. You want to be semi damp when your moisturize and allow yourself some time to air dry before you get dressed, and use some basic cover up. Prom is kinda one of those places where it's mostly dark inside anyway and I highly doubt that anyone will notice 'cause they're so focused on how great your hair and your dress looks. My biggest advice is that you need to realize that right now there isn't a whole lot that can be done, so DON'T let it ruin your night. If you're freakin' out about it and become very self conscious of it, THAT is when people will notice because you're too stressed out over something like that to have fun. Relax and enjoy yourself.
