Yeah, don't get too down on yourself. I understand what you mean. There are so many worse skin conditions and diseases that many people have. So, in some way, you can feel somewhat lucky that this is not a life threatening disease. I'm 17 so I understand how it can affect a girl's self esteem. But if people will let a skin condition affect the way that they think about you, then they are really not worth it. Believe me.

Re: alone

I feel the exact way.. I can't help but look at everyones arms, and feel so much pain. whenever I stroke my arms I feel alone, in this world. and I don't know what to do. none of these treatments have worked for me! and we really cannot afford so much expensive material for my condition. it makes me want to cry knowing I can never be normal. and my faammily makes fun. somedays I just want to break down and cry. I can neveerr wear tank top again.... god bless you and I hope you find treatment quick. I oont know how much more I can take. I hope the next time you look in the mirror, you see smooth supple arms. love, martha.

Re: alone

Kneecoal,

The teen-age years can be so tough, plus our culture puts such a high premium on appearance.

I don't know if I can offer you any comfort, but I would urge you to continue to try different remedies. On the sticky threads Thread Devoted to What Works For You and Commercial products that have worked there are many, many different remedies forum members are using to lessen their KP by 50% or more. Some are inexpensive. Read the posts there and find some to try. Remember, it may take 30 days or more to see a change. But please keep on trying. It is empowering and will make you feel more confident if you know you are taking charge of your health.

Keep in touch and let us know what you try. We are always here for support and to answer questions.

hi,

im 14 and i have it on my jaw line on the sides, the back of my arms, and my thighs. I am lucky to have a few friends with it, but none of them have it on there cheeks, it cuases me to have a rougher and rosier face then others. A couple of times ive been called tomato face even though its not that bad, and to make it worse they call me that when im on stage or giving a speech at school, and that is my passion, performing. Every time thay say it i just get even redder, but i just tell myself that im beautiful,kp doesnt change that, and you just have to know your skin doesnt make you, its beautiful in a unique way! when they ask just calmly say its a genetic skin condition, its common, not contageous, its no more harmless then freckles.

good luck and softly exfoiliate
