Feeling OK about KP at parties
My long awaited eighteenth B-day party is this Sunday, and there'll be a lot of people, both close friends and strangers. The club I'm having my party at is pretty classy, so I bought a cute dress... with spaghetti straps. I looked long and hard for a dress with longer sleeves that would look good on me... when I finally decided to get this one. It's a big deal for me to buy a dress that uncovers the KP on my arms, and I think this is my first step to overcoming my social barriers brought on by KP. I've thought about putting makeup on my arms, but decided against it... I'll be hugging and dancing with a lot of people, and I don't want to smudge them with makeup.
I'm just so sick of caring and obsessing over KP, I want to go to my own party and feel gorgeous and free! I just wanted to say that KP should in no way hinder us, we're all beautiful even with insignificant skin conditions! I believe if we have confidence and stop thinking about our conditions, others will catch on and stop noticing. Haha, had to let it out. ![]() |

Aw, thank you!
![]() I wish we could throw a KP Community party! Only people with KP allowed, and we'd all come dressed the way we want! ![]() |

Re: Feeling OK about KP at parties
Yeah, my dad's wedding is coming up this July and the wedding shower is TOMORROW and I'm wearing a dress, no sleeves in public for the first time in about 2 years!
I'm really nervous. But completely agree with you. It's supposed to be a common condition, so if everyone just stops hiding it, it should be just as nonchalant as acne. Have a great time! ![]() |

Re: Feeling OK about KP at parties
Why should we change our lifestyles just because of a stupid skin condition? We don't care, cause we're awesome!
![]() Have a GREAT time! |
