Re: pleasee help ]:
well... i've had this whole kp business since the age of late 12/early 13. i'm now 17, almost 18. i can be thankful for the fact that it hasn't worsened, BUT hasn't gone away. i have a pretty mild condition (knock on wood), and it's pretty much just below my knees and down to the ankles. as of late, i have been prescribed a medicine. i can't think of the name off the top of my head, but it's a stronger hydro cortisone, that you can't get in stores. anyways, to get to the point, even a prescribed medicine hasn't seemed to work for me. it's supposed to help with the redness, and so far... no luck. i've applied it about 2 times a day, and i still suffer no results. all i can say is maybe you should go to a dermatologist and see what they say, but don't really trust what the say. kp as we know is a condition that can't be "cured", and most dermatologists will send you along with a halfassed attempt at their job. after reading through so many posts on here, i think the best route to go with this is to first start off this: Exfoliants - 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Lotion using Salycilic Acid (BHA)
i'd then say apply some sort of moisturizing lotion, i'm not sure what's best. after that, i'd use a cream either regular hydro cortisone if you don't go to a dermatologist, or a prescribed one. i'm also going to try tanning because i'm unfortunately pale, and it makes the kp stick out THAT much more. i'm not giving up any hope as of now because i've only tried one thing as of now. but i will be starting a whole new way of going about this. there's also kits just for kp. such as this: Glytone Keratosis Pilaris Kit at DermStore i don't know. i'm just throwing out options that seemed beneficial to me. i can't give you any results because i myself haven't yet tried them. i know kp is a *****, but there are ways to diminish the signs. if you choose any of those products i'll just say as far as i know, CONSISTENCY in the ultimate key in fighting this. one day can really determine how your skin will appear in the long run. so treat this as a daily habit, like brushing your teeth or whatnot. i'm on a little rant, so i apologize for the length of this. but options are the best as well as what other people have been through with this. i hope this is some help. |

Re: pleasee help ]:
ALSO:
Sea Buckthorn Cleansing Bars there are lotions, creams, medicines that you can purchase of that website. if you read through what each of those does, i'm sure that will help some. from what i've read, that website is dedicated to help with irritated skin in all forms. a lot of people with kp have tried something off of there. also, if you have an unhealthy diet (like me), maybe lessen up and eat healthier/organic foods. i'm a human garbage disposal. i eat everything and anything in sight. i take full advantage of the fact that i can eat absolutely anything and not gain weight, but also from reading people's posts on here, they say diet can contribute much. |
