I'm a 15 years old teenager (M) and I got KP almost everywhere :'(

I'm so desperated it's f*cking my whole life up ! Because of that, I don't have very much self-confidence ...

My cheeks are red, I got KP on my arms and my shoulders, a little in my back, and a lot on my chest and very much (guess what) on my front arms !!!

What's interesting, it's that my "level" of KP is not always the same ... And I do not know to what it's due !
Sometimes, my skin is really clear and rather soft (especially my cheeks) ... When it "happens" it's most of the time when I'm home (= not outside)

Maybe it's some kind of reaction ? Someting allergic ?
Cause when I was younger I went to an allergic test (they did it on my back) and this is when my KP got on my chest !

I went to a lot of dermatologist and none of them found out what I had ... Actually, I kinda' found out by myself and when I went to the last one and I told him that I thaught it was that he said it probably was and there was nothing to do about it!

There's also sometimes like acne buttons ... Espacially on my chest.

I believe I'm the only one here down on Earth to have KP on my front arms ! Can you believe that ?!!
At least, if my KP wasn't that strong and if only I hadn't it on my FRONT arms
=> Because of that, I can't even put T-Shirts ! (And it begins to pose problem with that weather)
I don't support these reactions anymore : "Hu what's that ?!" "Dude, have you seen your arms ?!!" "What happened ?!" "Why is it like that ?"
It's too embarassing, and I can't define what i feel when others look at me like this =/

So now, I decided to take me in hand ... I'm going to see a special doctor and begin a treatment.
Not only directly on my skin but also with pils (Zinc, B2 vitamin etc...) and a complete allergic test including treatment against that and avoid what I'm allergic to.

I have to try this last possibility. I also consider to do a "final depilation" by laser or somehin' like that.
It's kind'a now or never =/ If all these things don't work, ... I don't know how I'm gonna finish my life :'(

I'm seventeen years old and I have KP on my forearms as well! I have it literally from my ankles up to my neck (except on my chest) and it's very severe. Not trying to complain, but just know you're not alone!

Probably you want a cure, but I'm just as helpless as you are. Let me know if your intense regimen helps at all!

A good short-term solution is to accept yourself. Wear tee-shirts! It's too hot not to. If a guy asks you about it, just deck him .

well, here is what you should do. get a food allergy test, becuase you are sensitive to some foods and they give you an allergic reaction. Some people have a bug living under their skin. yeah it might sound weird, but it is true. i have read about it multiple times over the internet. when you eat the foods you are sensitive to, that is what the bugs live on. and that makes your skin all red and bumpy and gross. if you don't have bugs, the food test still works. i think pineapple and coconut oil are supposed to help and with exfoliation in the shower. i know how you feel. even though i don't have kp as severe as some, but im a girl and im 14. and it sucks. hopefully this works...but to let you know i have not tried this myself but i know someone who has.

With everything I'm gonna do, I hope there will at least be a big improvement ! And maybe it will be fine.
But it will take time ...

I know other people who had very severe skin problems and who went to a lot of dermatologist who told them there was nothing to do and they went to a special doctor (like intern, or natural I don't know what kind of stuff) ...
So anyway, they went to these kind of doctors and they were totally cured ! I saw that 0_o It gave me hope.

But that bug thing sounds pretty weird ! A bug ? Well, as far as I went now, this is to take into account ! =P
How can you know if you have somethin like that ? =/

Now, what I'm gonna do (I'm telling you so maybe you'd like to try the same) :

- A very complete allergic test. => Once done, I'll avoid everything what I'm allergic for and take the drug they give you against that.

-A test for that "bug" stuff. I don't know where to do this yet but I suppose it's possible ^^ It still surprise me but I think it's possible I already read something about that once.

-Skin products. There are so many !!!
I think I'm gonna take special shower stuffs : Black soap, and freezing shower for sensitive skins or dry skins you know ... A peeling glove (for the shower).
Another thing that a doctor prescribe me (but I didn't take it enough long) : A shower product for skin problems like KP (a general thing).

Also other things like creams. And for my red cheeks (some Nivea won't be bad) I'll find something to.

-Intern products => Pills. I'm gonna see the "special doctor" for that and I probably gonne have to take pills (Zinc, B2 Vitamin and other witamins, Omega I don't know ...).

I think this is it ^^ =D I'll really begin all of these things in ... two weeks I'd say (But I can already begin some).
I guess it will take some time before I observe some improvement.

I just read it could be the DEMODEX PARASITE ! For what I've understood, everyone has that thing but for some people (who has KP for example) it manifest ...

The doctors who can help (the one I'm talking about) are naturopath.

With an intern treatment and a special soap, everything goes of in 4 months (according to the case).
At the beginning it goes worst but after some time, everything goes of !!!

Look at that :

Cured after 36 years : It was Demodex !

yeah... i think most of us are all pretty desperate in the fact that there is nothing we can do to terminate this. but have hope because with routine and consistency, there are sure ways to diminish this as long as you are faithful in doing so. i should probably take that allergic test or whatever that is. ya never know i guess, and it also wouldn't hurt. well... let us know results if you've found any that help!

Yea im fourteen,
Ive got it on my face, front arms, thighs, a tad on my chest, but it usually doesnt get on my chest hence im a girl lol, ive had it since i was born so yea.

im extremly self consiosnce(sp?) of it i try to wear long sleeved shirts alot too

yea ik of some things that can help though

1. Get a tan (it reaaallllly helps) your skin will still feel a little rough but it hides the redness and whiteness of it

2. Scrub with one of those loafer things
and after you take a shower put mostiers on

3.Take vitamins especially ones with vitamin a and d in it

Erm but remember that you have to keep the loafer thing consistent, and also if you can for your face use glycerin soap you can get it at the dollar store for about 1$ it works better than any cream a derm. will give you.

demodex parasite, thats what its called. tell us if you ever do get the test, i want to get one over the summer so my kp is gone before i start highschool, and i want to know if you see improvement in about a week, i think youre supposed to. and i don't think my red cheeks are going to go away if i find any successful treatment. there are these two really rough patches on the bottom and they look like they are scarred. i guess i have to wear freakin makeup for the rest of my life.

what do you mean loafer things? and what moisturizer works best? does this help with the redness and roughness?

I don't know about the moisturizer, but I think Dark means "loufa", the dried-out inner part of a gourd that is sold as a body scrubber.

Ugh, I totally understand. I'm fifteen -- I've had it on my arms since I was a kid and on my thighs too, but it just recently spread to my calves and I wanted to burst into tears, because now I can't even wear skirts without having people stare. It never mattered to me before, but now I want to wear shorts -- booty shorts, basketball shorts and the works, but my thighs look like I've been taken over by a disease or something -___- I get a lot of "WTF iS THAT?" and "EW, iS THAT CONTAGiOUS?" but I typically just tell them to f**k off and they leave me alone because of my violent rep. Supposedly, moisturizing and sunbathing lessens it -- but make sure to wear some sun tan lotion so you don't burn yourself. I've decided to experiment with that, but where I live, sun is pretty rare until late June ):

um for me on the moisterizer thing i use St. Ives extra relief collagen elastin advanced therapy lotion for extra dry skin yea thats alot to read lol but thats the kind i use
