Yeah. I seriously had no clue that I had an actual condition, that had an actual name, that other people actually had, until today. People occasionally ask me, "Do you have a rash or something?" And I would say, "No, that's just the way my skin's always been." And today I was reading my grandma's copy of (believe it or not) Good Housekeeping for this month and I noticed something that said, "Say so long to chicken skin" and mentioned keratosis pilaris. It dawned on me: I have that!
Well, what can I say? Luckily, not way too many people ask me about it, or make fun of me. I'm a bit self-conscious about it, but I'm a bit excited about trying to treat it (that sounds strange, but it's true.) Anyways. This does kinda suck, but hey, how many people actually have perfect skin (especially teens)? If I didn't have KP, it could easily be something else.

What remedy did the magazine suggest so you could "Say So Long to Chicken Skin (what a nasty description)"?

Well, it doesn't say way too much about it. It recommends "gentle scrubbing followed up with a good moisture like Dermadoctor KP Duty". I've been looking at a few other sites about it, and almost all recommend the gentle scrubbing. One recommended Vaseline, which I might try. My little brother has really dry skin and that helps him some.

Whatever you use for your brother, keep his skin well moisturized always. This may prevent him from having KP in the future.
