KP and how i have overcome it
(this may be a little long.. u are forewarned)
im a 20 year old who has semi-struggling with KP for the last 4-5 years.. thats atleast when i allowed it to be brought to my attention. At first it wasnt bad at all and i considered it rather normal.. as in highschool most of the kids had a few lil red dots here and there i noticed and some had many more than myself.. so i thought nothing of it until around age 18 i began to notice it on my thighs right above my knees and on my butt >< ... so long story short i wanted to get that out of the way so you all know i'm not just some preteen freaking out about a few bumps on my arms ... ![]() So this is what i believe about KP .. A) you cannot "cure" it,.. as it has a genetic base.. but you can certainly control it to the point were its no longer expressed outwardly on ur body... B) i think the real way to help KP and this has been my personal experience.. is to be healthy.. eat organic foods, plenty of healthy vegetables and fruits, do not use synthetic chemicals inside our out,.. stray away from using medications if there is a natural alternative and exercise.. and thats a big one.. i have noticed that many people with KP tend to not look very "healthy" .. they are often overweight or malnourished looking in some subliminal way.. (being an extremely healthy person its easy to notice these things)... GET your sleep.. so many teens sleep for less than the 8 hours necessary for them to repair and grow.. Drink a lot of purified or spring water .. not tap.. also water can get "boring" so make organic teas , green oolong white herbals are all fun ways to make water interesting with added antioxidants and a lot of times they make u feel happy... which is my last comment.. be happy.. appreciate the fact that you do have a body to use and enjoy.. yes it might have bumps, but there are millions of people in this world that wish bumps on their body was the biggest "worry" they had... so be thankful and enjoy your life.. C) ... KP in my opinion is an outward sign of an accumulation of toxins in ones body ... having said that you most likely need to "detox" and i dont suggest fad detox diets or some crazed slushing of oil in your mouth... detox like this ... eat a majority of vegetables and fruits through out the day.. take a all natural multivitamin once daily.. supplement with something to help reduce inflammation .. sweat atleast 5 times a week.. and add some relaxation with messages or the like.. im not going to go over and reread what i wrote.. (im in a bit of a rush)... i hope i help someone with this information.. i know KP isnt fun.. i really struggled with having a relationship with people in my past do to my own insecurities about it.. at this age ive realized that that was a huge waste of my mental power and time trying to hide or cover-up my Kp .. any human that would love someone less do too their KP or judge them for it is not worth dating ... much love to all my fellow KP havers ![]() smile kyle ps... if anyone has more questions or such feel free to email me starvingartistkyle@yahoo.com made it specifically for people with questions SO I BETTER GET SOME! lol |

this post really lifted up my spirits. Partly because it's nice to see someone who has been through this being able to overcome it, and partly because of the other guy's ying- yang comment. (I don't mean to make fun of you, just to thank you for making me smile). The health food thing is probably true also (oh gosh, I probably need to get to sleep then- 14 min. til 3). Thanks! |

Re: KP and how i have overcome it
Helloall - I wonder if you got rid of the red dots just by eating healthier food?
My main problem is the red dots. I'm also 20 years old and I have tried every lotion there is, without sucess. My KP had gotten worse over the last year, and now I'm so sick and tired of it. How long did it take for you before you noticed any difference? I'm gonna start living a healty life... right now! I'll do anything to get rid of these red dots! ![]() |
