Hi Leanne,

Welcome to the KP Forum. You aren't alone. Many of us experience the same things as you, if that is any help.

I used to have extremely dry skin, so dry that my back and legs looked like they had dandruff. Within weeks of starting oil pulling, all dryness ended. Somehow, this strange practice moisturizes the skin. I also use coconut oil -- very sparingly -- on my skin, though that's more to smooth out sun-damage wrinkles. Oil pulling also decreased my facial wrinkles and crow's feet significantly. If you want to learn more about it read my post # 1403:
Oil pulling treatment

I noticed that I was much more sensitive and aware of my KP bumps than my husband or family members. I didn't have redness, but I had bumps on my cheeks, upper arms and thighs and buttocks. My skin always felt rough and bumpy to me. My husband didn't even notice the bumps! And I wasn't about to point them out to him. So don't worry about your boyfriend rubbing your thigh and leg. Just be glad he's there to do it.

Hi, leanne

I used to have very dry and rough skin as well. I got it under control by exfoliating on a constant basis with a loofa and using keri's moisturizing lotin with aloe vera and vitamin e, i also use KP Duty Body scrub ( I've been reading that some people have not seen good results with the product, though).

Also, soaps dry out your skin, but if you rather use it than a body wash use Dove. Constantly moisturize your skin. Lastly, I noticed that changing my diet also helped. I now eat carrots, I take fish oil tablets with omega-3 (if you like fish you won't have a problem), drink lots of water, drink green tea, exercise is great for the skin and always get your 8hrs of sleep.

Hope the tips help
Bri

RAv,

My KP did not go away 100%, but it diminished by 85-90%. It took 21 days of oil pulling, but the time will vary with each person. Oil pulling doesn't help everyone, but it is worth trying.

Hey,
I'm 15 and have had KP since I was 5. My has drastically disappeared since i began using Bio-oil 3 months ago. Try it and tell me how you go. My sister also suffered from KP and since she turned 16 it disappeared and she hasn't had it since. So there is hope!

I know how you feel. I've suffered from KP since I can remember. All I can say is keep searching for a way to cure or help your arms, you should never give up! Also, what I plan to do the next couple of months is hide my KP with some kind of body concealer (I've heard Dermablend is good) and see how that works out, so atleast I can maybe go out with a short sleeved top whilst i'm finding out a way to treat my arms.
