how do you respond when people comment on your appearance?
i don't want to explain to people who wouldn't understand so i just say "i don't know whats wrong with me"

hey, i find i never know what to say either! i usually just say something along the lines of "oh, it's just a rash", mainly because i can't think of anything better to say, but then you get people thinking that you're contagious or something, so it's not always the greatest reply

be honest i just say what it is, funny enough i told a few of my mates and they said o yeh i got some of that also. so just see what happens, if u get made fun of then that person is being mean and karma will get them, everyone is given it for some reason and at least you will treasure what you have once its gone.

I usually hide it really well but there's moments where I can't and then I don't really know what to do. I just say it's a rash or say something else.

i just say, 'oh thats just my nasty skin..'

I wear long sleeved shirts and avoid shorts!

Well, actually, I never used to. I've only really become very self conscious about this issue just recently. Especially after I found out how hard it can be to treat. Of course, I think that's just because finding the individual cause can take a bit of time.

But yeah, I used to walk around and not even worry about it. But you know, I just tan really well in the summer, and my skin at least has color. Keratosis Pilaris on very white skin is much much worse than on nice and evenly tanned skin. Some don't tan, some can't tan, and it's really individual.

i just say "it's called keratosis pilaris and i can't get rid of it"
i'm not afraid to wear short sleeves, because my tan hides most of it
luckily it has died down lately, thank goodness!

I'm fair skinned with red hair so get by with saying they are pink freckles. But for the most part I use alot of fake tanning sprays and Sally hansen airbrush legs all ove my body.

SAY THIS IT REALLY WORKS

" oh you noticed? I get this because im allergic to ***holes.....funny you must be one"

and when they ask it in front of a crowd just say

" Well first of all its a genetic skin condition, thank you for announcing it to the world and showing everyone and their dog your a ***hole"


Some of these if you just read other ppls storys youll see alot of things which you can say to them.

Im new to this site so yea just dont hide it from people it'll show your self consiounce (sp?)
