Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

i'm 15 and i've had kp for awhile. i've been to the doctor and dermatologist quite a few times and none of the creams or anything have really worked. now i'm using amlactin and apparently it works but i've only been using for 5 days so idk yet! i have some on the back of my arms but mostly on my outer legs... i live in texas so it's reallly hot and i love wearing shorts but i don't because it looks so gross my face is really clear so people don't really notice my arms and legs but i wish there was something to make it just go awaay

im 16 andi feel the same way i dont think that this really affects me attraction wise

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

hi. i'm 15. i have pretty bad kp on both of my arms. i have been trying out the seabuckthorn treatment for the past few weeks and my kp is actually starting to fade!! hopefully it goes away completely but if it doesn't fade in time for the summer i will tan. i've noticed that when i tan my kp is a lot less noticeable. i live in nyc so i only have to worry about wearing short sleeves for a little while.

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

I'm 16, and I have KP. In the summer it gets reallly hot where I live, but I find myself wearing pants because I've had KP on my thighs and calves since before I can remember. I used to be not so self conscious about it, until I started getting made fun of for it. In my opinion, its really ironic because they say that sun (in moderate concentrations) can help, and in order to get sun you have to show it off Plus I have really fair skin so I tend to burn when I try to tan
Any suggestions that work would really help me. I was thinking about playing volleyball this year but am highly doubting that i will (even though I love it) just because of this skin condition. Please help!

I don't suggest scrubbing hard ! It irritates the skin and just makes it inflamed -- kind of like scratching at acne. Make sure to moisturize and exfoliate daily -- and go out in the sun for at least ten minutes if possible. And exercise! Sweating clears pores [:

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

I'm 17 with KP on my arms and legs, I also live in Florida so shorts, tank tops and bikini's are pretty much a must.

I've found that sunbathing for 15-20 minutes can help, but remember to exfoliate and moisturize before, as well as using sun lotion. It also helps if you rinse off in a cool shower and moisturize after.

If you can afford it, try taking some omega-3 vitamins, like flax seed oil and stuff. It's great for improving the health of your skin, especially if it's rough.

I think tea tree oil can help as well, just rubbing it on the affected areas after a shower with a cotton ball can improve your skins health.

I wouldn't suggest makeup because while it does cover it up for a while, it'll also clog up your pours and dry out your skin even more which won't help at all.

I hope that helps, I'm still trying to find new things myself, but that seems to be what helps best so far.

Good luck.
