Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

I'm 16, and I've had KP since I was born, I believe. I only wear capris when I have my fake tan on my leg, it only makes my skin less noticable, but the dots can be seen only a little. It sucks having to wear jeans when it's hot, I can't always apply fake tan to my legs all the time.

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

hi, i do a lot of dancing and have to have spray tans for comps etc, and i've found that they tend to cover them for a day or so, but as the tan wears off it tends to stick to the top of the bumps and kind of leaves you looking dirty, as well red and lumpy

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

I'm 16, and I only recently learnt from my Dermatologist that I had Keratosis Pilaris, and not only is it on my arms, but horrible on my face aswell, which is called rubra faceii apparently. It's horrible and I've always been depressed because of it. I can like myself so much when it clears up and isn't as red but if I cry or get angry or even just scratch my face it'll go flaming red and it makes all my confidence poof. I've tried so many different creams the price ranging from 10$ to even around 100$ I just wish I was pretty. I know I could be if my face wasn't red, I tried concealer, and it just makes it worse because you can see that I'm wearing makeup, and it's just gross. I also have really thin eyebrows and saw in a few posts on another thread that i could lose more of my eyebrows and that just ****es me off more. I don't have horrible bumps or anything, but the redness is neverending. So if anyone has any tips, please reply :'o

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

Wow O.o Just today I found out what my "illness" was called, and here I am!^^

I'm 16 and living in Sweden and I have also had it my whole life, and it sucks! I have it on my upper arms, all around my legs, my bum and stomach.
Sure, we don't walk around with just t-shirt often because of the weather up here(and the cold weather doesn't help either because then you get eczema), but in the summers it can get really hot! and then everyone looses their clothes, everyone but me, that damn KP!

So I'm glad to find this site and to know that I'm not the only one with it

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

hey there im at 16 year old in N.Z and i have had K.P for a longtime. Worst of all, im one of the worst cases you could get. I have it on my chest, arms, back, legs, so pretty much everyone. Ive started going to a tanning bed and thats doing some good work. The things with K.P is to NEVER use soap products and use Neutrogena Acne Wash as it has sacrylic acid, it may only help a bit. Apparently sun helps a lot so you have to try do a bit. Usually 2-3 times a week for about 15 mins and then work up. Best of luck to all of you!!

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

Hi everyone. I'm in high school and have KP. I think I've had it for about four years now. I am very self concious about my skin ( ihave it on my upper and lower arms). I always find myself wearing long sleeves to try and cover it up. I'm trying to starty mosturizing with and exfoliator now. Its just really hard because there ie "no real cure" for it. I was wondering if there is something that someone has used with KP on their arms and has had brilliant or promising results. I'm willing to try anything. It will be greatly appreciated, and its nice to know that there is people out there going through the same thing.

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

hey you guys, my name's leah and i'm sixteen.
i have kp on legs and arms. my skin's weird, it changes with the weather. sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's horrible. it does make me self conscious. it's annoying when i forget about it and then realize soon after that i still have it. (to some extent) i envy ppl with nice skin. it sucks complaining about kp in the first place, because there's much worse in the world. i just wanted to introduce myself to this group. i hope everyone's doing well.

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

I'm 16 and I've had KP since I can remember. I've always hated it and felt really ashamed/embarrassed. I often cover up my upper arms. I have it the worst there, it's like patches of red, bumpy acne. I hate it. I do have it on my lower legs but it has no texture. It's just small red dots. I'm going to try tanning. I really have problems dealing with it and I never let boyfriends or even friends see it. I usually put make up on it, too.

Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

Yeah, I think I have it too. I live in GA right now, and I used to play football, not a good combo in the summer for any part of your health. Hahaha! I'm 17, and my mom had it when she was a teenager as well. It's genetic, that's all I know as of now.

Unhappy Re: Any 15+ teenagers with KP?

Well I think I've had KP for around 2 years now, but I do have eczema, I've had it since I was in my early teenage years. I always had skin problems as a child. I live in a Caribbean country (Trinidad) and having KP sucks. Wearing short pants and going to the beach is common and year round! I'm 18 years old so pretty dresses and skirts are expected to be worn by me, Its not that i care to live up to expectations, but because I really do what to wear them. I make up excuses why i dont. I only had it behind my thighs, but it started showing on the the outer parts of my legs. I cant even wear capris anymore (last yr I could)

I FEEL so embarrassed to go on the beach,so I dont go. I even wear jeans to stay at home and when I go out also. Recently (3-4weeks) I noticed bumps on my face. Im using this Clean and Clear Astringent-- it has salicylic acid. I dont notice much improvement but I'm sure Its better than using nothing.

For those who dont know, 'Carnival' is the biggest festival on earth ..held in Trinidad..(try googling it) which is in February. Costumes are bikini bottoms and bra tops. Everyone, but me, will be in shorts.

I want to use a bleaching soap or cream, since my KP is like 'blackheads'
